I stopped caring about the AC story with the end of 2. Dabbling in 3 a bit, I see I haven't been missing anything good.

I got AC2 to see what the deal was with all the hype.
And then I got to the point where they explain that you can invest in your decrepit town to make it better and bring in more money. And I was really excited about that. I promptly saved. Put it down and haven't played it since.

I remember saying to my wife, "If I'm playing a game where you're an assassin and the prospect of real estate investment is the most exciting thing for me in the game, it's not doing it for me."

I dunno, maybe it's me. I really can't stand games with "badasses". I like them way over the top to point of satire (Bayonetta, Viewtiful joe) or very flawed and at times weak (Samus, Solid Snake, Batman). The whole 'You're this really cool bad-ass, aren't you cool? Aren't you bad-ass?" thing never appealed to me.

I just finished To the Moon. Lovely music. It's the story of a boy who falls in love with an autistic girl who loves to make origami and then some Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind stuff happens.

The Hobbit

Just watched the movie...

Wow did it ever ever feel stretched...
Was so bored throughout.

The Visual Effects were also pretty poor.
Looked like some Blizzard cut scene...

Felt ripped off by paying for that,
will probably watch the sequels for completionists sake... :/

As a huge LotR movie fan, The Hobbit was highly disappointing. I think it's ok at best, but doesn't live up to either LotR movies. How can it? The Hobbit book was a light hearted prequel with loads of fun. The movie wasn't that fun at all and it was tryin to be LotR serious without the material to do so. Bilbo didn't feel like he was carrying any weight or worth compared to Frodo. Ok I can go on and on with this rant but I'll stop there. XD

I'M SORRY FOR MY MOBILE YOUTUBE LINK :((((

Haha and yeah the story is silly but I still enjoy it. I'm a super cool assassin and run through trees and buildings and have fun. :D

Also, the 2, BroHood and Revelations trio was like the best thing for me, especially 2, with their recreating Italy pretty well. Closest I'll ever get to going to Venice, Florence, etc :(

Yeah I'm a big LOTR fan too. I liked the Hobbit but I think the music, the characters, the acting, the action etc. were all lacking in comparison to the trilogy.

edit: still I think Thorin and Bilbo have potential. Give them more characterization in the sequels plz.

ugh, just tried my new dark chocolate bar, endangered species 88%, f'n incredible!

Yeah, unwilling tag-along tricked into a quest doesn't have quite the gravitas you'd hope for in a protagonist and really prevents you from getting as personally invested in the characters as FotR. It's been at least a decade since I read The Hobbit (or saw the old cartoon version), so it was enjoyable from a nostalgic standpoint, but that only gets you so far. I think I need to put the first film out of my mind to give the later movies any credit.

10% of profits go to different organizations to help protect against endangered species, hence the name. also, each bar has an animal, so the 88% is the black panther..on the inside of the wrapper there are a bunch of facts about black panthers.

It wasn't just his motive for me. It was just weird that this film was as long as Fellowship and yet there was only a percentile of character development in this film. All the characters in those movies got their moments. In here...I only got like 2 dwarves saying anything substantial and even Bilbo felt half-baked.

plus this scene has set such a high bar. Still moves me :(

's what happens when you stretch a book shorter than any of the individual LotR entries out to the length of the trilogy.

Aw, vids that make you feel. Those kinds of moments are so necessary; Boromir's death, Gandalf's battle with the Balrog, and Frodo being stabbed twice are the most emotionally powerful scenes in the film and engage the audience tremendously. I remember in the theater people were cheering, laughing, and even crying the whole way through.

All of that is lost when they're playing it way too safe and there's no real risk involved. People were literally sighing during The Hobbit after the umpteenth "close call". It got a little ridiculous.

Trin, your avatar's eyes are finally getting to me

Haha, I'm always watching!

I noticed from the start. Contacts? Can't really see in that small pic.

Yes, they're colored prescription lenses. I purchased them for my Selene costume last Halloween with the helpful suggestion of one of the GAF cosplayers :)

This post hurts me deep inside.

I can't with Bayonetta. Great game but she's like top 5 worst protagonist for me. That whole game is trying to make me hate it in fact but it's just so fun to play.

I have only played the demo of Bayonetta , i had it but sold it for some reason
hmmmmmm i hope Nintendo would do a e-shop release of the first before the 2nd comes out

haha for lazy me this is great, facebook pics dont need to be edited/cropped to be avatared :D

ah i forgot, i beat the first sly cooper earlier, fantastic game and i wish i bought the HD collection for $10, i need to play the other 2

I got pretty far into Bayonetta but never finished it, I didn't like the combat as much as everyone else, I preferred DMC combat, and the story..characters..all that, not a fan.

On a side note, I ordered the Tomb Raider HD trilogy for PS3. I was really excited for the new TR game when they announced it, it sounded great, but every time they've showed it I became less and less interested, it's looking like a $20 purchase for me now. So I picked up the trilogy instead. Never played them before.

I hated the Bayonetta demo. I was like "WTF?" the whole time. Really you need time with the controls and all that to sink in and make sense.

Seriously my progression went from "WTF? People LIKE this?" to "God, she's annoying." to "Hrmmm....." to "I wonder if this will work, ooh it does!" to "I think I get it" to "Yeah that's right, her hair is a dragon. Why? Because fuck you that's why! YEAH!!"

I liked Sly Cooper 1. I too got it and finished it. I was a bit annoyed by the one hit kills especially in the final boss battle. But really great game. I keep intending to follow up with the rest but people keep saying that 1 was the best.
