We should make one. I remember a few top-ten episodes hitting back when the show ended, but they were all best-ofs and none of the plot-necessary ones. There are a lot of great two-three episode arcs as well, like some of the Alicia episodes, that are completely forgotten despite working so well.

flying?? NAHHHHH super jump!

Season 9 was probably the most complete and solid season since the first few. I was a big fan of 8 but I never expected a real Doomsday fight to begin with.

Having A full-fledged Zod in season 9 has made me appreciate Season 5 more since I'm not so annoyed by the possession bit. It had some real stinkers though like the mexican claire kent and the vampire episode. Brainiac was great though and Lex started to settle into his villain role.

Season six was worth it for the zoners, my favorite incarnation of Martian Manhunter, and the buildup to bizarro and the finale. The lana/lex storyline kept clark and lana apart so it wasn't a total loss.

It would have been nice if they have just done one season combining the best parts of season 6 and 7 instead of spreading it out.

Ideally, season 4 would have phased Lana out and we would have had a new love interest while Clark headed to college.

I feel like every season had SOME redeeming qualities to it. Of course seasons 1-2 were great just for the newness of it all, and the high budget. I especially loved the season 1 finale and whichever episode it was that he gets heat vision. After that, there are good eps but the only one that comes to mind is the episode 100 awesomeness.

So many man tears were shed in that episode. So many.

I'm telling you, season 3 man. Everything with Lex, his father, the asylum... gold.

That scene was amazing. If you were watching week by week, Clark had lost his powers (this was before it became a once-a-season thing, mind you) for three-four episodes. An entire episode was dedicated to him stopping a home invasion sans-powers, he got into a fist-fight with Lex, and lots of other genuine "fragile" moments. Capping it all off with Clark getting his powers back to stop a nuclear missile felt like a month-long reward.

I know Smallville had no budget by the end of season 10 and John Glover was one of the best things about the show and it was always great to see him back, but damn having him be Darkseid in the finale (though it was for like a total of two mins lol) was just as annoying to me as Lex being Zod.

Luthor's always possessed by great villains on that show. I still don't know why the first time they had Zod around they just couldn't have a different actor like they ended up doing anyway smh

God I miss that cheeseasstic show though, it really did have some great episodes, moments and some good arcs over the course of 10 seasons.

The first trailer for the film downplayed the action somewhat. The second injected a little.

The third, Bleeding Cool have been told, is going to ratchet it right up.

And then the film itself is going to “blow our minds.”

At least that’s what we’ve heard, give or take, from a few folk now. In fact, we understand that Warner Bros. are ultimately going have a very action-heavy advertising campaign that really plays to the film’s scenes of huge devastation.

There are beats of huge, superpowered action in the film, most of them built around Kryptonian vs. Kryptonian conflict. Trucks will be ‘pulled’ about like… erm… toy trucks. Buildings will be smashed like Lego.

When a Kryptonian gets into a brawl with a Kryptonian, things get smashed up. But how about when a Kryptonian gets into a brawl with several Kryptonians… in a built up area?

Those aren’t buildings any more, they’re crash mats. They’re weapons.

A single eye roll is more action than returns had.

Guess you missed the plane scene. And earthquake. And boat crash/rescue. And-

You know what, to hell with it. Some people just want fist fights and we're clearly getting those with MoS. I'm done arguing online about Returns.

Action heavy trailer sounds good. No Super Bowl spot sucks though.

I remember really wanting one in '06. Iron Man 3 will be all over superbowl Sunday, but it's also coming out much sooner. Oddly enough, it's unfinished in terms of production, whereas MoS has been in post for ages.

Pretty much my thoughts on the "Returns had no action!" posts.

This film came out in 2004 and it is one of the greatest comic book film's of all time. Its penultimate action scene has Spider-man fight Dr Ock on top of a clock tower, fall onto a moving metro, rescuing half a dozen tossed people by making web hammocks and stopping the runaway train in a heart-pounding frenzy of jizz-shooting adrenaline.

Returns, which came out 2 years later and has features arguably the strongest, most dynamically powered character in comic book history had two notable scenes and the "big finale" has Superman pick up a big rock and gently let go of it in space. It's an unforgiveable zzz inducing movie.

It's because it should have been released in December but got delayed because of The Hobbit, right?

I'm sure WB will go all out on marketing for this one...they NEED this to be successful because so much hinges on it (Justice League, Superman/Batman).

I saw it coming considering TDKR didn't have one that I can remember, but with this being the big relaunch of Supes (and maybe even the start of a DC cinematic universe), I kinda hoped DC would go for it. Would have certainly made my Superbowl Sunday more exciting. Lol

lol why does superman need a speed cruiser? or any vehicles for that matter

lol who knows. It the same crap they pulled with the Batman movies. Gotta sell those toys with stuff that has nothing to do with the movie. Kids eat it up.

One of the more popular criticisms of Superman is that he's too powerful/strong and nothing can sever top him... and they took that criticism way too seriously.

And just the entire premise of the movie was kind of poor. Superman is gone for X number of years and Earth has been pretty much fine. The entire setting/atmosphere of the movie just didn't really fit with today's world. I guess part of the reason for that was because it was a quasi-sequel to a film made decades ago but I don't even want to get into how dumb of a decision that was.

... but you should compare that train rescue to the plane rescue in Returns. They're far more comparable in terms of sheer action, heroics, danger, and volume of people, especially when you consider both Spiderman 2 and Superman Returns end with the hero holding something heavy up.

Yeah, Man of Steel was also finished ahead of schedule too. Warner Brothers really has their ducks in a row when it comes to this movie, considering the delay didn't seem to kill any hype and will only afford them more time to polish the effects.

Me too. That second Man of Steel trailer really did light the internet on fire, though.

I love seeing Cavill's promo artwork surfacing.

lol

Guys remember Gold Batman in Dark Knight Rises? I know I do.

It is cool to see Cavill's image, dude is Superman.

Cavill = man
Routh = boy

Cavill really does push the "man" factor. Chest hair, slightly receding hairline, some wrinkles... It's nice to see a leading man in a movie. Even age-appropriate actors these days seem to push the whole man-child aspect when put in the role-model shoes.

if they are serious about JL I think they should do a post-credit scene with Martian Manhunter coming to earth warning Supes of an incoming apocalypse or something

I'm still betting the movie ends with the military contacting Luthor for some "Kryptonian insurance."

I do wonder if they did some of that on purpose for the movie. I know Cavill has a slightly receding hairline, but tons of images show he can grow his hair out and in fact has like a natural wave/S curl lol The whole chest hair thing was totally done on purpose. I just wonder if there is a bigger gap in time in the movie and he's playing him older not just more manly than Reeve did in the first Superman film.

I can't believe I'm 4 years older than him and he makes me look like a a teenager. Dude doesn't look 29 at all.

I'm sure I'm wrong though, just have never like you said seen an actor push the "man" factor so much. Reeve looked like a man cause of that insane jawline, but was still pretty lol Routh... no comment.

An awesome (and impossible) post credit scene would be a jump forward, where we see Metropolis in ruins. Have Lois or somebody on a radio, calling for help, "This is Lois Lane. If you're out there, send help. The city is being overrun. There are people injured among us and I don't know how long we'll hold out. Superman...Superman is down. No one knows where he is, or what they've don...what? Someone's coming. It's...it's the guy from Gotham. And some others. I...think they're here to help..."

Or something like that. I'm gonna stop cause now i'm writing fanfiction. Lol

probably not too far away, but I'm assuming it'll be almost a exact nick fury type of scene at the end.

Know why? Cause I'm guessing they want to fucking hype out JL A S A P
