I would put it at $450 or $500. Wii U is 25,000 yen, but $300.

At the time the Yen was at historic highs iirc. BoJ has been trying to rectify that of late and as of today 100 yen = 1.07 dollars i.e. getting back to "normal."

Also I expect the rest of the world will subsidise the US.

That is fine by me. If it really doesn't come out in Europe in 2013 then I think I might either import it from the US or if I am in Korea at the time then fly to Japan and buy one there.
