A HDD-less model is feasible though now (while it wasn't with the PS3), so it's a possibility if not at launch - in future.500GB can fit on one platter now. I dont think they will go below it.
Both.Overpriced in the sense that like Vita its more than what the market is willing to pay for or component cost?
The only price point I'm certain it won't be is $599. Too much negative stigma behind that number. $449 for basic, $499 for deluxe sounds right in the US
So what £300-£350? That's acceptable.
no, that is not my assumption. my assumption is that tablets and smartphones exist in a category in priority - hence my "required to own" comment - to expenses like consoles. they're completely different, more optional, experiences to the average consumer.
the reason people complaint at the vita is because a system without a good library is expensive even at 100 dollars, even sony has stated that third parties are not supporting the vita, i bought one at 250 and i don't regret it, its a great piece of hardware for its price but the lack of new games or even new announcements does makes the price a mind barrier for many peoplei wonder if it doesn't perform well at $399.99 that people will start complaining it was too expensive the whole time, much like the vita's $249.99 reveal.
BF4 Olimpia!
Do it! I want BF3GAF to stay together!

Well, PS3 was little cheaper in japan on launch [20-30$].

Should be £300 really, but of course Sony wil overcharge here.
There excuse will be "Wages are more so um, you have to pay more!"
$399 would be the perfect price point
Sounds like it'll be dead on arrival in Japan at that price
GBP is too weak to support £299. GBPJPY needs to hit around 170 if we are going to get a £299 price point. I don't see it, the pound has been taking hits all the way since December and there has been a semi-official campaign from the BoE to keep the pound weak in order to support UK industry vs Germany. If anything we're heading for parity with the Euro again at this rate.
So you guys think $400 is low-tier/mid-tier? It can't be high, right?
Are HDD prices still inflated above pre-Thailand flood levels?
Sony making all the right moves lately, I swear.
Damn, Microsoft. You're in trouble this time sorry.
Sony making all the right moves lately, I swear. Powerhouse system at a truly viable price.

I say $399 in the US.
