PS3 and 3DS also had bigger price cut than VITA is having. (and PS3 had a redesign too)

If Sony is any smart (big if, I know) Evolution and PD can share a lot of car and track assets, saving time and money and Sony can have push DriveClub for launch, have GT6P by Fall 2014 and a content rich, all premium cars and tracks GT6 by 2015. Or they can get rid of Prologue and push GT6 in 2014. At the same time, PD could push out a GTVita this Fall.

Haven't most of these had some pretty successful handheld-exclusive entries? Peace Walker even seems like it nearly ended up with the MGS5 name.

They had, but mostly in Japan.

I think right now there's no reason to think Wiiu will have bad support from thirds... But no reason to think it'll be great either.

People say the support is awful right now, but i don't think so. Wii already have two musou games, one Tekken, one Monster Hunter and DQ... Even though most were late ports, you can't compare that support with the one Wii got it in terms of quality for it first months.

Right now, it's only in Nintendo hands to change the situation of those sales. The games will come when that happens.

My biggest concern now is if Banco will release Taiko on the Wiiu or make another final release on the Wii. I still believe some of those sales are being made by japanese with Wiiu and nothing casual to play. And i think it was a surprise that the new Kamen Rider didn't got a Wiiu sku when the series always sold well on the Wii.

Wii U fate in Japan (and worldwide) is pretty much sealed for me. Third parties don't care and Nintendo doesn't have the software hit and/or hardware innovation that can sell the system. Even if all their studios decide to focus to the system they still don't have the power to support it alone.

I was optimistc (only) for Japan but after third week sales it was pretty clear what would follow. Not that I expect much better things from PS4. Japanese market has turned around only one system and there isn't a competitor for it.

I do wonder how Professor Layton And The Azran Legacies will fare.
Miracle Mask wasn't too hot, but it was a launch game, in a bad launch period.

Level 5's been stepping back up lately, and Inazuma 11's been holding alright, so I definitely see it doing better, but I wonder if it can get around Last Specter.

I agree that Wii U's fate isn't very bright, but at the same time I can't bring myself to think that Nintendo won't be able to at least muster Gamecube sales out of the Wii U. The current track of sub Vita sales worldwide seems too much for a system that that hasn't had the usual big games from Nintendo. I also don't think it's going to have some miracle recovery in the face of Durango/PS4 in the west and the 3DS in Japan. I am going to wait till E3 before making my mind up about future support of the system though.

I think the increase of 3DS's more casual audience with the little help of Animal Crossing might push it better.

Layton should do around 400k LTD. Which is solid and stable instead of the franchises trend of going down with each iteration.

In a recent post price drop interview Kawano (SCEJ president) basically said that first party-wise they don't give a fuck about the Vita and are courting third parties to fill the catalog.

I doubt GT Vita is in development and Puppeteer, TLG, Rain and now Knack seem to confirm this internal home console focus.

Do you guys think Nintendo will still be publishing Rayman Legends in Japan? I wonder... it would have been ideal around now, but I don't know if they'll want to spread their resources too thin in the fall. Plus there's probably some animosity there and maybe they'll outright refuse to do it.

I think they will; Nintendo will want the game and Ubi are promising Watch_Dogs too.
Both will work hard to stop animosity; its not beneficial to either of them.

SCEJ has been pretty worthless after the PS1 days regardless. I think GTVita will come though.

Why are people expecting Wario&Games to boost the WiiU sales when the majority of predictions have it under 100k? How did Mario Party games do on the Wii in Japan?
