Winter Storm Saturn: Midwest and Eastcoast Snow

This sucks, it's down to 38 right now where I live in Florida. Hopefully the sun comes and saves me in a couple hours

I prefer the Capital Weather Gang's name for the storm, "Snowquester". Perfect for DC and less arbitrary than "Saturn".

Got the snowblower ready to go, some extra feed for the horses, and a brush to keep the DirecTV dish clear. A few more chores to do tonight & we should be all set.

4-8 inches in Columbus. It's supposed to start as rain late this morning and then turn entirely to snow by late afternoon.

Not great, but manageable.

3-5" predicted in Indy, but not until after some freezing rain. My only concern is that I have class tonight after work and I don't want to make what is normally a 30 minute drive home on icy roads later in the evening.

Was the worst drive into work in 13 years here in the Twin Cities.. not one road was plowed. Very much not like normal up here for us...

Good luck, the last one got us pretty good (note: please don't endorse the winter storm naming bullshit).

Looks like 50s next week, winter will be out on its ass very soon.

The last 5 times we were supposed to get 3-5" ended up basically being dustings. I don't believe anything Indy weathermen say.

I've got to move outside of NC. I don't want it to snow every other day, but we haven't had a significant snowfall the entire year in the Charlotte area. Mild winters suck.

It's just about out of central MO and we've got less than an inch. Wasn't expecting much here this time around.

We're in Roanoke, it just barely rained here right now. He's off Thurs with PTO weeks ago so in a way that's a blessing but yeah, I'm dreading tomorrow.

I'm north of North Dakota. Got 2 feet from the night before last, up until last night. To add to the 2-6 feet already piled up. It was the blowing snow that was really bad. I rarely get snow days here because rough winters are the norm. Surprised how bad it is.

eep, I should elaborate that I think this storm is the rest of what dumped on me as it was passing by. Good luck, it sucks :(

I took a look outside (also in Twin Cities area) and decided to call in. Don't really feel like shoveling 10 inches of snow from my driveway, and the roads haven't been cleared. They're normally much better about plowing.

Yeah, its hitting in Minnesota at the moment. Its not so bad so far, I think its just like 3 inches so far, but its still going...

I hope they close down the mall. If the storm was anything like we got hit by a couple years ago in northern VA. It's going to be hell trying to get back home. I had to go fall asleep in the parking garage at work until traffic died down for 6 hours.

Chi town, is going to get so fucked. I wish my snowblower worked better then a 2 dollar hooker trying to blow you after an oz of coke.

I just want spring... every additional day of winter is torture to my soul. it is eating me alive.

Now I understand why ancient cultures worshiped the Sun.

The snow was up to my knees walking home from class yesterday.

And it snowed more last night/this morning. We have at least a foot of snow everywhere, in some places 3-4 feet, the plows are backed up, no city sidewalks have been done yet, and no classes are cancelled. Only plus is that the wind is only 13mph. That's pretty sweet I guess.

North Dakota ftw.

I typically don't either. I am more concerned about the ice after the sun goes down than I am about any snow. And since they have upped the forecast amount of precipitation in the past 24 hours, I'm expecting at least a little bit, and it doesn't take much ice to be dangerous.

Well, here in Baltimore they're saying 6+ inches. Supposed to start early tomorrow morning and last all day and then stop around 3-4am on Thursday.

With that said, I hope my power doesn't go out, as long as I have power I'm perfectly fine with staying in the house for Wednesday + Thursday if that means I don't have classes for either of those days.

Come at me Winter Storm Saturn. Let's hope your offerings aren't as lame as your name.

Living around I-495 beltway in the Maryland area, these idiots can't drive in whatever weather at all.

Oh well, bring it on, my shovel is ready.

not going to get shit in Philly.

I should be happy...but I'm not.

It's not Winter unless we get bent over my Mother Nature.

but then again...

shoveling sucks balls.

meh

I didnt even know it was supposed to snow until this thread. I checked and my eye kinda went wide.
