Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | March 2013 | Carving an Independent niche

Store update should be soon? Just a little lame there isn't a set time, or even a window.

There's a window.
Just like when you get your cable installed.

"We'll be there sometime between 8am and 4pm. Someone needs to be home."

"We'll update the store sometime between 4pm and 12am. Your guess is as good as ours."

SCEA REALLY needs to start publishing store updates 12AM Tuesday, since they are doing a lot of day and date releases of PS3 retail games and ALL Vita retail games. That would just make more sense.

Making sense? Yeah, when SCEA learns from Valve/Steam, I'll probably be dead and buried... if SCEA is still in business.

Just got Patapon for free. The rest should be coming very soon I imagine.

Me too. I came here to post Patapon free was live. So is Patchwork Heroes.
Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath HD shows as $10.99 -- is that with the discount?

Just saw they're making another Zombie Tycoon, one of the few minis I bought and I remember really liking it. Looking forward to that on Vita.

Haha I guess at a certain point a window doesn't matter.

And a quick note about the Vita/3DS. Dont expect any Square Enix retail releases on Vita aside from FFX. Square has very little confidence in the platform and the only reason X is seeing a Vita release is because its cost-efficient. Almost ALL of Square Enix's support will be focused towards 3DS/iOS. In fact, there isnt even a dedicated team working on Vita titles internally. FFX is being farmed-out.
From the FFvXIII rumors thread.

I'm shocked. Truly.

I have them, but after getting the platinum, I took a break. I should finish those up so I can move the game to "storage" and get some space on my 32gb card back. I just did that today with MK9 and HSG so I could make room to get Stranger's Wrath... (should be $11.24 or so, right?)

I've seen you in the leaderboards :^) Stranger's Wrath is a cool game, pretty unique atmosphere and it looks great as well. I payed something like that in Euros.

I like to keep as many games on the Vita as I can, so I can play whatever I want, I hardly ever finish games. I hope memory cards will be cheaper soon or 3rd parties will start making them.

Can I get Patapon from the PS3 or PC Store? or do I have to switch accounts on the Vita?

It was said to be exclusive to the Vita store, but I'm sure now that it's up we will find out for sure. As of right now all the free Vita games have a price on the PC store.

I just tried the PC store. No go. It's still at 9.99

Follow up question then, can I switch accounts and add them to my download list without formatting the memory card? I know that's easy to try but Vita is not near me right now.

Alright Vita-Gaf: How is Knytt Underground? I'm pretty close to buying it at $10.49, I played the demo, but want some opinions on it.

I have it but have only played less than an hour, so I can't contribute much. But I do think its very relaxing to play and the backgrounds look good. Character models look a bit amateur and the writing is lacking. There's someone on GAF who posted his impressions, I forget who.

Guys you remember Dyad, and that it's coming to Steam, which I hope works out really well for him and it very well could especially if it gets the right media buzz from the pc crowd. Still, I'm still keen on a handheld version, does anyone remember the quotes for PSN titles on vita doing well? It seems he's planning on releasing Mac and Linux versions as well as he mentioned in his Steam announcement video from a few weeks back.

From the FFvXIII rumors thread.

Yeah.

I just think people need to count SE,Capcom,Atlus out already and move on,if someone really care about SquareEnix,Capcom or Atlus future games it's time to buy some other systems because these publishers don't want to risk it with Vita.

I liked it a lot up until the third chapter. They have it paced nice at the beginning, then suddenly open the entire game world at once and give you no direction. It's good, but having to do it over, I'd wait till its $5

I'm not really digging Megaman/Rockman X: Maverick Hunter.

Then again I've never been a Megaman/Rockman fan outside of the Battle Network series. So I dunno why I grabbed it off the Rental Service outside of it just being there and wanting to see if it'd change my mind.

Shit makes no sense... if SE don't have an internal team for Vita, them who the fuck developed their two launch games? I'm calling BULLSHIT on that!
Persona 4 Golden is a dream now?
Capcom isn't really showing good support, but they released a Vita game/port.

If the situation of Vita changes, you can be sure as hell these will jump on the ship.

Keep with it. I'm not at all a fan of the MM series, but Maverick Hunter was a great game, a lot of fun.

Atlus is done with the Vita! They have cancelled Dragon's Crown and moved it to the 360!

*Atlus shows Dragon's Crown Vita

Atlus is done with the Vita!

I don't think you got the memo that many I. This thread put Toto on their ignore list. Tends to just stir shit up without making sense.

Especially P4G, which was very successful for Atlus.

it's not bad, i prefer x2/3 more but 1 is still decent...
step one is changing the controls though things felt so much better after i made L dash so i could actually shoot, jump and dash at the same time :P

the vita isn't shaped right for my normal set up of R shoot, Triangle jump, O dash that I used on the SNES, it's just to cramped

Seriously, don't buy any Capcom games on Vita unless you buy them used or something. It's clear that money isn't going towards funding more software on this platform:

I believe both of Square Enix's early Vita games were outsourced. Besides that, given it's nearly been two years since release it's very possible that any team that did exist could've been dismantled.

Should I finish FFIV for the first time or start P4G?

I need to focus in only one jrpg or I won't beat any of them. This summer I was doing Crimsom gem saga, P3P and something else and got burnt out.

Lords of Arcana was developed internally, Army Corpse of Hell not. Basically, what it means is that their 3DS/iOS team IS the Vita team too. They're not focusing on Vita for obvious reasons, but the rumor is contradictory with this.

And Totobeni is on my ignore list, but he keeps get quoted. But my response wasn't specifically for him (only partially, on his bullshit about Atlus).

Sure, but for it to change it need a steady stream of games (quality aside) that is what hurting Vita so much now and sadly the upcoming games few and far between even in Japan.

I'm talking about future support from the three by the way, there is nothing from Capcom, nothing from SE aside from that ugly 2002 port and Atlus next game got announced when it wasn't published by Atlus and I think if it wasn't already in development back then when Atlus got it we'll see it on other platform now.

This has gone beyond sad, now it's funny.
I would love to know wtf happened between Capcom and the Vita. And no, poor hardware sales can't be the only thing that happened because projects seemingly were canceled before launch.
