Konami confirms SH5 and it'll resemble SH2

I want to get excited, but besides his compositions Yamaoka just doesn't seem to know the best direction for the series. Sato is gone, that other guy went to Sony... he's the only major player from the first two games left the last I heard. I don't think they'll ever top SH2.

It'll take me that long to save up enough money for a PS3. :( If I buy a Wii I'll have to wait another year after SH5 hits. :(:(:(
 
Most likely, this "news" is a recycled story coming off the recently resurfaced (hence old) interview where they mention SH5 would be more like SH2 and play around with brighter environments.

So I'm not getting my hopes up for anything until I get a brand new quote from one of the devs.
 
I hope most of the SH1 goodness is thrown in. You know, story, the fact that you can't evade 60% of the creatures in the game, and characters the gamer might feel bad about having to put a bullet in.

Otherwise I can't wait for SH5 and to listen to another good soundtrack.

Same here. They talked up the last two games and they were clearly sub-standard compared to SH 1 and 2. The series has lost direction, I'm more excited for Siren 3.

I do concur with your spoiler marked comment though.

None of them have taken on a leading role since number 2, though, right? I know Imamura had something to do with number 4, but he wasn't in charge anymore.

Has everybody forgotten about Kuriyama from Grasshopper? :( From that article in Edge a while back, that sounded awesome.

I look forward to SH5 though, too. :)

Kuri-whatsit has been put on the "backburner". Unlikely to see the light of day, unfortunately.
 
I am just happy to play another Silent Hill, especially if it resemble SH2 my favorite game in the series.

I don't care which system it is on, be in on PS3, Wii or 360 I am still happy.
If they do it for Wii please make it exclusive and really push the control and make it look better than SH4. If it is on PS3 or 360 make it very beautiful.
 
Hmm. I heard this was being developed by The Collective in Orange County, but was having some problems. Maybe they pulled it and gave it back to the original team?

No, Origins was being made by Climax Group in Santa Monica, but was recently moved to Climax's Solent Studio in the UK.

Silent Hill 5 was definitely being developed at The Collective, at one point.

BTW, there was supposed to be a SH5 trailer on one of the TVs in SH: Origins, but Origins' delay may change that.
 
Im pretty sure SH5 is veing developed by Team Silent. The rumors were that the next SH game was being developed by an american developer and it featured a RE4 camera viewpoint.

It ended up being SH: Origins (developed by Climax LA). Besides Team Silent confirmed long ago they were making it and recently there was a confirmation that the Team SIlent were making a PS3 title.

Ravidrath, you sound way too specific on the matter. Are you some sort of insider?
 
There is one other project that I heard Team Silent was working on and that's an original game for the 360. I wonder how that will turn out.
