Fighting Games Weekly | March 4-10 | The Empire Strikes Black

Well to his defense most of us thought it looked like crap, the art direction and all, many of us still do but it ended up being better than it looks.
When your only looking at wireframes, etc. I doubt he had the same reaction people had. This was way before the art.

He's probably referring to the old way hitboxes worked and stuff, which I could understand S-Kill not liking.

SF4 had bad art and still does. Out of all the high profile Capcom games released in recent memory SF4 and SFxT have the worst art style except for maybe RE ORC.

Makes sense. The earlier builds had really wonky hitbox layouts and stuff like counter-hit juggles that would have been a bit awkward in the final game.

I haven't played it in a long time (don't play on my ps3 that much anymore) but I am down for some matches when you want. Netcode is very good too.

Hey guys. Legendary Green Arcade, home to the some of the best Tekken players on the planet, has a daily stream on Twitch these days.

Knee and Saint are currently playing.

Just sayin'

I've been watching this stream every morning for a bit. Makes me wish my brother didn't sell my copy.

SFxT is another level of bad. It's one of the few games where the art style is so offputting I just can't play it.

When you look at what they can do - Tatsunoko v Capcom (dat Galactor Base, dat Aensland Castle, dem Tatsunoko characters) - and then you see their highest profile fighting release for late gen turn out that bad - it's just inexplicable.

Saved it from being anime. It was cartoonish, but so ugly that no one would call it animu.

That ugly at 24fps.

Whoa, pretty insulting. No WNF regulars and some dude from Arizona. Good shit.

Also that picture is hideous and while SF4 is certainly several steps up it's still pretty ugly. SFxT is even worse, and I fear what DS4 will look like with Ono at the helm.

This monopoly video is great. Lando's pop off when he gets boardwalk, lol

That's a very good team. Probably third best right now after NY and norcal.

Champ was saying last night he wants to make a team norcal 2.

sf4 looks incredible, and the game is absolutely fantastic. yea, the fact that the game is run by mixups is stupid, but what SF4 doesn't have its bullshit. i haven't played it in a long time, but i really enjoy the times i spent learning it.

I hope darkstalkers is a pretty game. That game has the most potential for them to be creative visually.

I want LOTS of stages. LOTS of them. I'll pay for them capcom. I don't pay for ANY DLC.

I like how SFIV looks too. I mean, it isn't the most jaw dropping game ever because of the textures, but I think it's decent all things considered.

Even though I've never played a DS game before, I definitely agree with this post. They have the most room to do creative stuff with the stages, the aesthetic and the character designs because of the IP being able to draw inspiration from everywhere.

Stages are something it seems Capcom is putting the least effort into nowadays though :/

I dunno if Richard is going, but just after what he's had to say about SoCal, this is amusing to me.

Also, catching up on the thread, 1100$ for a single room? I could've sworn Champ said that his sponsor was paying for them.

Yeah he said his sponsor already pays for his rent. Which is surprising to me, but it just makes the fact that he's charging someone to live in his house that much even more amusing.

New fighting game by the designer of Skullgirls before MikeZ. Featuring art/designs by a talented guy, with a character who's all Soul Eater.
Combat looks like it could be fun. Shame about the art though. Though the scythe is kinda cool.
