I highly doubt it. The Home button usually doesn't work while online.
Really? That's kind of a bummer. I was hoping to be able to access the internet while at least in the online lobby.

Heh, true but it's not so bad given the franchise's history. Capcom didn't exactly handle it well on Wii. I'm not sure about the other handheld MH games, but I think Portable 3rd may have supported voice chat on PSP, but that game didn't come out overseas. I suppose the PS3 version of the game may have supported it as well (but again, it didn't release outside of Japan either). At least the Wii U version has what seems to be the definite version of any MH game. You get the convenience of optionally putting the HUD on the touch pad , off-TV play, voice chat support without the need for a headset (unless the quality of the GamePad speakers prove to be inadequate), and being able to suspend the game so you can surf the internet to look up MH guides and videos. Lastly, there's of course, Miiverse 3DS connectivity support too.
Man, I'm excited for the 3DS game.
I pre-ordered from a futuristic shop here in Canada and hope it arrives in time for me to bring it with me to PAX East. It will make the drive more fun and I might even be able to go on hunts with fellow paxers![]()
MHP games on PSP never had online. Probably it didn't matter so much because xlink kai (which seemed pretty popular in Japan) and (eventually) ad hoc party existed.
MHP Third HD for the PS3 let you could connect to 1 or 2 MHP 3rd players and go online. (You wouldn't really need to go online if you had 3 local PSP players and 1 HD player since you'd already be a party of 4.)Oh, so that's how it was with those games. I wasn't quite sure about how things worked in the Japanese versions due to adhoc. Well, then it just make the Wii U version look better for supporting it.
11 days until I finally get my first handheld since the GBA and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. I'm constantly thinking about it and have no fun in doing playing anything else. Aaaah.
I don't know about you guys, but I absolutely love the logo animation.

You know you've hit rock bottom when you spend a good chunk of your weekend watching people stream the demo.
im getting really nervous about the input lag storys on the official forum. im considering buying a WiiU just for that one game, so the experience should actually be better than Tri was...

If you had a PS3, you could also take 3 local Third PSP players online to look for a fourth with ad hoc party, so the PS3 was more flexible.

The demo feels fine :/
Make sure your HDTV doesn't have one of its "enhanced" modes on... those introduce lag.
What kind of input lag are we talking about? I didn't notice anything special in the demo. Then again I also have a decent plasma.

Just a heads up in case you guys didn't know:

Athena's MH3G/U Charm Table Search v0.32b :
http://forums.minegarde.com/topic/6...arch-for-monster-hunter-3g-monster-hunter-3u/
Go to mingarde and you will see her post and download link.
The file is .rar so you will need winzip or another program to open/run it.
She has translated all charms, which tables they are on, and provided a very nice FAQ on charms and tables. Everything in one place.
What's interesting to me is the "cursed tables"
Most tables have 20,000+ charms on them but tables 11, 12, 15, 16, 17 have only between 200 - 800 charms. These are being refered to as the "Cursed Tables". Less charms and generally lesser quality as well from my (limited) searching. confirmed to have the worst quality, e.g. table 16 has NO (read ZERO) 3 slot charms. Some skills won't even show up on the Cursed Tables either.
After learning this I have decided that I will be trying for a charm table when I start the game. I know that this means reversing my position on charms and letting chips fall where they may but those "Cursed Tables" are B.S. I don't care about getting the best table but 800 charms when other tables have 20,000? LOL. Screw that.
Anyway, hope this helps guys!
edit:
posted *some* findings for OOO charms in post #6.

http://mh.websimu.mydns.jp./ This is the site that Athena used to compile names/data
edit#3:
Athena also has another program "ASS" or Armor Set Search (lol)
http://forums.minegarde.com/topic/5304-athenas-armor-set-search-for-mh3g/
This program has a feature that can help you determine which charm table you are on.

edit -- on the input lag issue, I have zero idea what people are talking about. I play on the Wii U and it's fine.
Never heard of this before! :S. Is it decided randomly when you create a character or is it name-based (like PSO)?I heard about that before and it's super dumb. How fast can you advance to the point when you can test which table you are on?
Thanks for the links. I never noticed something like that. Then again I'm not a hardcore MH player and do not time my rolls to the ms to use invincibility frames and what have you.A few ms of lag.
Everything is in this thread on the Capcom-Unity forums: http://www.capcom-unity.com/monster_hunter/go/thread/view/7451/29802803/will-the-input-lag-of-the-wii-u-version-be-patched

Charm Table Stuff
That's for the 3DS version at least. Not sure if it works on the Wii U. It seems the table you get is based on the time you make your character or something.Social Dissonance posted:
1) Turn off wi-fi (slide the WIRELESS button)
2) Set date to January 21st, 2012
3) Set the clock to 00:13:00, start your stopwatch right when you touch OK
4) Open the game and go to the “create new character” menu – you must confirm that you indeed want to start a new character by letting go off the A button when the clock hits 00:14:44
Just give it a 9/10 and call it a day, we will give you some thousands of clicks.I've been going through the game for reviewing purposes and it hasn't managed to captivate me in any form.
I'm not a Monster Hunter buff though but this game feels REALLY old, all this loading between areas and the almost archaic graphics... damn.
Meh, they keep focusing on MH3 monsters, nobody cares. We want to fight Zinogre, Nargacuga, Duramboros, etc.
You need to do the tutorial and three key quests to unlock the fleet, then note what kind of fish they catch. That's apparently decided by the same table, and there's an online tool to evaluate that data here: http://mhvuze.de/3ucharm/fishEN/I heard about that before and it's super dumb. How fast can you advance to the point when you can test which table you are on?

[...]STUFF[...]
I saw people on SA talking about this stuff today. I don't think I'm going to worry about it, but I guess there is a way to try and get the best table, which is 10 I guess.

Yuri confirmed this morning that both 3DS and Wii U are the same and both have the table issue. He replied in the link I gave on Capcom Unity.
Tables 1 and 10 are considered the "best" by the Japanese but pretty much any table besides the 5 Cursed ones are good.
Athena's program will let you see for yourself all the charms on every table.
It should be a crime, namely fraud, to label your game as HD when all you did was up the anti aliasing.
This is not anywhere near what could reasonably be considered HD.
HD = High DefinitionIt should be a crime, namely fraud, to label your game as HD when all you did was up the anti aliasing.

HD = High Definition
It has nothing to do with graphics, this is a 3DS game in 1080p with better shadows, etc. And why were you expecting MH to look like DD again? lol
A crime is to advertise HD games on sub-HD platforms like Vita.
Don't make me get banned a week before the release date.
