No platinum for Lumines and Katamari? Interesting...I thought that was a requirement now for full retail releases.

Near the top: buy bigger storage for all the Vita anniversary goodness! (we still doing this?)

Can't get into the Lumines demo no matter how hard I try. Guess its just not my type of game. I was so close to buying it, too.

I'm the same, despite all the rave reviews. I just can't seem to stick with it for more than 5 minutes. Not seeing how a mix between a rubik's cube and tetris is fun...

Vita game related query here guys. Regarding MLB 13 the show.

I'm a noob to the show. A quick question if I may.

You can select beginner mode which apparently is a dynamic setting, this setting takes away aids as you progress.

After my first game a pop up announced changes to my settings and would I like to save them and use them as default, which I did.

I assume when I play again those settings will load and I will get a further option to save over them, then further aids are removed ? Reason I'm asking is that it didn't explain what aids or aids it removed for me.

One other question, I also made a manual change in the settings, umpire calls to variable. Now because I made a manual change have Iost the dynamic save option?

Anyone know?

Thanks Vita muffins.

It will automatically save the updated settings when it saves your game. The first time the option popped up, i discarded the changes. My second game started out at the 1/6 beginner level, I then saved it after the second game. Since then it saved the changes on the settings automatically.

I have to say the game is decent but it feels...off on the vita. I don't know what it is but there's just something weird with the game, like it feels a little sluggish. Maybe its just me.

The original games ran at 60fps, Vita version runs at 30 so the controls do indeed feel a bit worse than the console versions.

Never hurts to post it again ;D

noice - didnt see this.

honestly though with so many games getting re-released on vita... i'd like some extra stuff. not just HDized.. leaderboards, trophies, touch.... make a new mode or bonus levels..

atleast muramasa is doing something along those lines.

That stinks :( Life of Pixel is the best PSM game, too, IMO. Doubt they'll be returning to it.

Full stop - PSM shouldn't exist. I appreciate what they're doing but Sony and HTC don't have enough market share to warrant a separate app store. Their phones don't even have a foothold in North America right now, which is probably PSM's 'biggest' market (and one of the few available).

I feel like it's being kept alive by a few engineers and an indie developer relations (re: snake oil salesman) guy at Sony, and nobody else is even giving it enough thought to cut it.

PS Mobile games should be a section in the main store. They should also be listed in the Playstation store updates similar to how Minis were.

Yep its absolutely disgusting they don't even get that kind of space on the PS Blog.

If Sony doesn't care why the hell would the average consumer?

Yup, and have PSN integration and support for more intensive 3D graphics. Would have been MUCH better had it started it like that.

I disagree with Lyphen, though. I don't feel that PSM shouldn't exist. What I DO feel is that it shouldn't exist in it's current form. If what dsigns1 and I had mentioned were to come into fruition, I think we would be in a better situation. It's it's not as though that it can't be turned around. We will just have to see if it ever does.

Sony just needs to clean itself up. It spreads itself too thin and everything is always jank as fudge. Forget about getting your games on cellphones right now. They released Xperia and that only got like 3 PSone classics even though it was an advertised feature. Push support for the Vita, help games that were originally for PSM just come out as cheap Vita mini-esque titles and put them in the front of the store. Its not that hard. At least I don't think so.

To be fair, the initial release of the game was SUPER underwhelming and only the release of the last patch actually made it enjoyable.

Oh and Surge is the best PSM game :)

But yeah, PSM is... redundant. They should just integrate these games into the normal store front.

You make a good point. It should have been for Vita only. It's version of minis, except even easier for indie devs to get their games up. There's also other problems that I forgot to mention above, like it's horrible update system for games. Nobody cares about this on smartphones, and I wouldn't expect them to. If it was Vita only, they could have more easily integrated PSM into it and into the PS Store.

I was sort in that same boat. Downloaded and played the demo 3 times different times since I got my vita (and I played the demos of the other versions on PSN and XBL before this). The gameplay never really left a lasting impression on me. I kept coming back because the soundtrack had so much appeal to me, and tracklist+price are what finally pushed me over.

Strangely, after time with the full game, its the gameplay thats now 'catchy' and leaving an impression on me over the soundtrack. I guess the Tetris comparisons are on point, in that it reminded me of the logical/strategic progression of the first time I played Tetris...I had no idea what I was doing, but kind of have a grasp on how to make a Line clear. Then I would see the 2x2 offset block and panic (Damn checkered blocks in Lumines). After so much forced-twitch trial and error, I started to pick up on what to do with it those blocks and how it can be used in relation to the other blocks. Then I would be setting myself up to easily make a Tetris. Finally i'd be setting myself up for multiple Tetris. The fast paced strategy and thought just keep building.

Then you realize you have played so much that you suddenly have a Tetris Effect w/ Lumines going on in your mind. lol

I wonder if there are any PSM games that sold decently

GAF.. I am ready!

Actually, I need to review God of War, Tomb Raider and Metal Gear Rising first at least. Maybe I can play it once in a while.

The Lumines developers thought that platinum trophies unlocked automatically for getting the rest of the trophies in a game. They didn't realize they had to add one to unlock.

Probably not. Just a couple weeks ago we were hearing about the guys behind Haunt the House making a whopping 3000$. And apparently that's great for a PSM title.

Despite all devs saying their relationship with the Sony Mobile team was friendly and supportive, I think Sony is tempting/courting these guys with the wrong platform. I can't imagine why any of these developers would want to get bit by another financial failure through PSM. No amount of flowers and smiles will bring them back on board.

So again - cut it. Focus on piercing the market with good phones (Xperia can and should be kicking the shit out of the Galaxy) and getting games on the Vita instead. PSM provides nothing interesting to any of the platforms it's present on.

They need to update the SDK of PSM to include trophies and PSN leaderboards with friends list support (ie sorting).

They also need to move where the games are in the store.

Until then PSM is irrelevant. Which is a shame because there are quite a few good games on the platform.

It's in this spot here:

i went there last night.... couldn't locate that free game zoozoogo or whatever... don't know what kind of a game it is so i didnt dig any deeper... but the fact that it went free and wasnt in featured or an instant list is terrible marketing. seriously how am i supposed to find these games on mobile... aside from just hunting in every category

true, I hate to say it but with trophies, they will sell a lot more

Get your priorities straight. Just let someone else review the other games.

Congrats on the pick-up! :P
Well no, I love my review copies. I have way more games for review now but it's my job so of course it have higher priority than Persona 4 but it'll be my guilty pleasure in my free-time. ;)

So why isn't there a freaking search function on the PS Mobile store? Am I missing it or was it seriously forgotten about? Also I don't really get the point of PS Mobile, why not just have everything on the PS Store so games can get properly advertised?

Oh it's VERY terrible. Nobody even knows it exists.

Should have been a Vita only thing and it should have been integrated with the main store and with PSN as a whole. Live Areas, coding specifically for Vita meaning much better graphical capabilities, Vita game update system, and incredibly easy for indies to develop for. Just thinking now about what it could be makes me sad because of what it actually is.

It's not there. Who knows why.

I've had P4:Golden waiting for two weeks now and I haven't even put it in my Vita. Once I finish my last research paper next week before Spring Break I'll have some solid time to play it along with all the games I bought this past week.

Sony again with its wonderful marketing, they are severely under marketing the PSM area
Marketing isn't even the biggest problem with PSM. The whole layout of the PSM Store is awful. Everything is inadequately organized into a single category, and there is no way to search for the specific app you want. Baffling.
