He's not?
Just joking around about that weird FOX engine reveal video he was in
For the record, I am Team [partial] CG
He's not?
hey gaf Tilda Swinton looks really weird, so: she is now CG
By that logic, Mark MacDonald is also a CG character.
yup
and it got fueled by the fact that it would make sense and be convinient if it was CG, with GDC coming up
grew from there

Tech and visual software companies have computers much, much, much more powerful than a PS4, yet they haven't released anything nearly as realistic as this "CG" man. It isn't CG.
Regardless if it's CG or not, this is the dumbest advertising campaign yet.
Don't get me wrong - people are talking, but few are legitimately interested in the game.
Kojima is lame. What's even the need for this? Just tell us the real name of the game and a release date/plataforms. I'm an fan of the MGS series, but Kojima must have some real sick problems. Probably bipolar or something. And everyone is a bit part guilt on this awful marketing strategy. Just don't support this, ignore and the man will grow the fuck up from he's need for attention 24/7. Even writing this here I'm giving just more attention to him, so I will keep just to this one post.
- The weird editing.
- The bandages.
- Recent EDGE feature on Fox Engine and PES 2014 showing it's facial rendering.
- Incoming GDC panel on rendering in Fox Engine.
But no one is saying this is rendered on a PS4? If it's an engine showcase they could just be rendering it on a very powerful computer to show what the engine is capable of and not the games running on a PS4.
The GDC panel is called "Photorealism through the eyes of a 'Fox'"

And this is how you build hype around your game devs. Take notes, the industry needs more people like Kojima.

Lmao CG,
this was them just hinting that Phantom Pain is Ground Zeroes
I like the way Spike mirrored the logos and on screen ads like the GZ trailer

At least we can agree on that.

Just started a poll.

Can someone put down any evidence on behalf of either side that pulls me to their side?
Just from watching it, it's obviously just a bad cosplay.
The YouTube vid is mirroredIf The Phantom Pain is Ground Zeroes I will be extremely disappointed. I'm not sure what you mean by mirrored logos though.
True that!
I still don't see why there is a lack of exclamation mark above his head. It was the perfect moment.
I think they mean teasing people and creating mystery around a project. You don't need to have a big name like Kojima to get people talking. Dead Island did it and it was a totally new IP from a mostly unknown studio, they just had an intriguing trailer.honestly the guy barely has to do anything
the people are so desperate to believe everything that everyone just projects on anything. It's like every time Valve releases a video and everyone is SURE they found proof of HL3
all it takes for Kojima at this point is a little spark. It's not good advice for other devs, it wouldnt work.

Wow, how did I not noticed? I'm convinced. It's bad cosplay. Join us.

so they are showing something they are never going to use on their games
"hey look at what we COULD do! but nahhh, we can only really do this: *cue MGS5 trailer*"
genius
Coincidence?Pretty sure that's to avoid a Viacom takedown

That scared the shit out of me, jesus.
Well yes, they have to limit themselves to what the hardware itself actually can render. That doesn't change the fact that the engine is capable of something better looking.
Just take CryEngine 3 as an example (this is just to make it clear what I mean). That engine can render some amazing looking trees or whatever, but you won't be able to reproduce that on a 360 because the horsepower just isn't there. That doesn't mean the engine suddenly is incapable of rendering those amazing trees.
this is where the game is gonna be at. You dont show something impressive to then say that you can't do that with the consoles and show a way less exciting thing
What makes it convincing at all is the animation, which they can surely use for retail builds if they have excellent mocap-type software.but they render everything they can on PC, wich is where the game clearly shines and it's meant to be played if capable

who'd do that? how is that a way of promoting a product? they are showing an engine for the next Metal Gear game, they are not trying to outsource it to PC developers
it would be super counter productive for MGS5 dude
