Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | March 2013 | Carving an Independent niche

.....

wait so on vita version every item is included?

Also PSN is more expensive? I thought it is same 30% fee as apple store.

I think you get the same amount of revenue from sales, but there's the cost of the SDK and publishing and things that are different.

About IAP, I think the iOS/Android game's main in app purchases are coins, and it's hard (but possible, like many free-to-play games) to beat the game without occasionally shelling out cash for in game coins. The Vita version has been retooled to not require buying any additional coins to play through enjoyably.

I just realized that with the purchase of Totori I'm actually closer to $100 spent on PSN this month.... 3 months PS+, discounted BB, and cheap Lumines. It adds up!

I asked in the store thread but I've gotten no response yet.

What is the actual gameplay like? Does it pay like that iOS game Battleheart?
i.e. You touch control each character around the playfield while they autoattack, and you can set off special moves everynow and then?

yup, it is what you have described

I thought they did have in-app purchases?
Lemmings has you buy the full game after a few levels.
And Everybody's Arcade allows you to buy specific games within it no?

he was talking strictly about that game i believe, plus lemmings is a PSM game not a PSN game, not sure about everybody's arcade... don't know that one off the top of my head.

think he was referring to the game specifically that it does not have any IAPs (so paying 2.99 to get everything.. rather than 0.99 on the iOS + IAP)

don't think he was saying that PSN does not allow/have IAP

EDIT: Everybody's Arcade is a PSM game too

My bad. I didn't read in context.
I thought he was talking about PSM games in general. Whoops.

I played the DOA demo and while its pretty to look at I think I like Mortal Kombat better. Yeah its fugly buy the fighting just feels tighter in MK. Like I said, its probably just me. After trying out the demo I'm not going to buy it, at least not until a price drop.

Also- Any word on Capcom classics working on Vita through PS3 transfer?

Can someone sum up the Monster Hunter Freedom for me? I know next to nothing about the series. I know we have to venture out and kill large monsters. Is the world map huge? Or are the areas repeated. Same area many monsters. Is there any exploration? lets say like dragon age? Oh and is the soundtrack good?

damage so far...

Life of Pixel 1.99
Super Stardust Delta 4.89
MotorStorm RC Complete Edition 5.87
Sound Shapes 7.34
PS+ 15months 49.99
Sine Mora 4.89
Dokuro 6.99
Rayman Origins 13.22
Lumines 13.22
Rocketbirds 5.99
Nuns Attack 2.99

that should give me about $20 back... would be good to spend on Soul Sacrifice or something...

waiting for some free PSN cards (with those BB RZ points by participating in the polls).. to bump my wallet back up...

I seriously no longer comprehend any who says Vita has no games..

Areas are repeated, it's nothing like a traditional RPG. It's "Grinding: The Game" in small recycled maps over and over and over. Only upside is the co-op, otherwise avoid there are many other better games on Vita.

i got on the best buy poll thing a little late... I wish i was there when it was constantly 25 points a poll.. now it's 10 and i don't even get a new poll every day... at least there was that 500 bonus point offer.

i've used my points for psn cards myself lol.

If you ask they'll always eliminate any games you bring up as them not being interested in any of them. Until you bring up a few indisputable ones, and you'll hear the canned response of "Well I'm not buying a Vita for only x games".

It's not the kind of RPG where you're dropped into a world and go on an adventure. You have levels broken up into sections which are all behind loading screens, and you chase after a monster and attack it with clunky controls.

Just wait for Soul Sacrifice.

me too! haha i'm just waiting for the 500points to be added... and get more (free) PSN monies.. if only Sony gave me that $10 too :P
I started late Jan... but dang how I hope I did not.. (I did the polls.. and thought it wasn't a daily things... could have easily been $10-$20 worth there).

which is just... strange. one could do that to any console.. but oh well. I'm really looking forward to the indie-lization of the Vita.. it's awesome! I think I would not play these indie games (despite having them on Steam) if not for the Vita.

It's interesting that EDF is still on sale. 3rd week.

secretly.. hoping it goes on $20. :/

:/ but this was THE MH that got everyone crazy over it right?

Ohk Thanks for the info. I will pass. and lol at the bolded part. Isn't that soul sacrifice too?

I agree. I really don't understand the appeal!

Don't trust anybody's opinion of Monster Hunter if they say anything bad about the controls. It's for those who enjoy boss battles and crafting armor with their leftovers.

Why not? People are allowed to have opinions, don't they?

Someone's free to say Monster Hunter is a bad/boring game, because that's an opinion. But the controls aren't clunky. That's a common complaint from people who've played only the demo for a short period of time and have no idea how to play it.

The only clunky control is the camera control, but mapping it to Analog 2 would solve that.

I didn't import, but it's different from what I've seen. You're fighting as soon you're dropped in an area, whereas in Monster Hunter you have different sections of a level to traverse before you get to the main action.

This is where I guess we'll differ, but to me, good controls aren't something you have to learn. They should feel good right off the bat, and instead Monster Hunter comes across as, well, clunky.

I have both Capcom Classics on my PSVita - I bought them on Eu Store - you can download them directly on PSVita

And finally....

How does Powerstone play on the Vita? As much as I would like to get it, this is the kind of game I'd rather play multiplayer =/

Will get Rocketbirds and MonHun though~

People who are just learning MH tend to say this a lot. When MH clicks you don't even notice the controls. Capcom haven't changed the controls for a reason.

Guess this might be a better place to ask this question than the Media Create thread.Taking about soul sacrifice, how many units does it need to sell to:

(A) be considered a successful new IP
(B) guarantee a sequel.

Thanks.

Due to the EU P4A debacle and Atlus apparently not caring about Europe region...I'm trying REALLY HARD to not get P4G at this price.

I would say wait on P2... until it's under 10 or something :/

why not P4G Digital :P

Ok decided not to buy any persona games. Bought Monster Hunter and that spy chicken game. :) Do ps mobile purchases add to 50$ for 10 dollar reward?

Already my copy of p4g is shipped. :)

not that both physical and digital are at the same price, i'm torn at which to get.

on the credit bit
I was under the impression that any amount you spent out of the PS Wallet (regardless what you spend it ON) is part of the promotion

EDIT: i stand corrected -points above-

I bought P4G yesterday from play asia (together with sonic racing for 19 bucks iirc), and I nearly kicked myself when I heard P4G was on sale on PSN. Luckily, the sale price was also 30 bucks, so I'm good. lol.
