man was hoping there was going to be a twitch archive up for this. looks like I'll have to wait for it to be put on YouTube. Well FR is next weekend (and I have no work next Friday, so it's going to be an awesome weekend.)
 
Damn, I don't want to, but I'm inclined to agree. The competitive crowd for MK has been fairly small and it seemed like a lot of the mechanics weren't broken down as quickly.

That being said. It didn't seem like the NRS staff minds as long it gets more of the Capcom crowd to buy Injustice. Also that trash talk combined with earlier statements is a good indicator that FChamp, Justin and Floe are going to try for the early tourney money. Wonder if it'll be more like MK9 success or DOA4/SC5 failure.
 
Justin already won that PDP big money MK9 tourney then stopped caring. If these guys are serious they will figure out who is top tier first, win a few tourneys and then stop playing seriously before the patch.
 
About Justin winning PDP, Justin only won one of MANY MK tournaments that were held through various majors that were Road to EVo qualifiers. And if anyone remembers, Michelangelo won the VAST majority of a ll those tournaments WHICH had a bunch of the Capcom players like Justin, Valle, Chris G, Sabin, O-Tony, etc.
 
Seeing ChrisG's Morrigan flutter about helplessly against Vergil just like mine does makes me feel a little better, haha.

Edit: Holy crap a good Thor team combination! It has like...assists and stuff! RoyalFlush, take note!

And Online Tony only played when Kabal had that block loop. Sabin stopped after it was clear there wasn't an offline scene in NY. Not that I'd include OT or Sabin as top players, even if Sabin is one of the more intelligent ones. Arturo has that whole Viscant thing going on where his execution holds him back.

All of the top players were playing it as their third game.

And I was talking about Pre-Evo when there was a lot of MK activity. Justin Wong wins one major which is the PDP and people act like that is complete proof that Capcom competitors are the best and completely ignoring all of the rest of the majors that took place.

NRS games tend to be pretty low in execution and conceptual understanding requirements. I don't see why anyone couldn't pick it up and do fine. Especially since, IIRC, Injustice gets rid of MK's block button.

Online Tony placed top 8 at EVO and second at Revelations after Kabal was nerfed. He just quit after EVO, like a lot of those guys like Valle and Aris. It was like there was this accepted meme that "MK is dead after EVO" and all those guys left. Yet MK never died and they even missed out on the MLGs.

Arturo and LI Joe talking about how MK was dead in NY was always really bizarre.
