Okay, TeamCG. Come own up to your foolishness. #trolljima

Is Joakim Mogren CG?

Well played. You said what I always think when I see that statement being made. Anyone who doubts that UFO's exist are unreasonable clearly. :P

Also to deny that aliens exist without doubt is pretty crazy too, especially if you know anything about how infinitely huge the universe is.

I like how you can't come up with a decent response so you post gifs

Had to go with Team Real. I'd like to be proven otherwise because I think that will be the next graphical leap to make me say "Wow" (and then probably scare me shortly after), but until Kojima blows our minds I can't go with theories just yet.

The source wasn't that great, but I dunno looks like there's blood flow to me.

The problem I have with the software is that if there any movement at all the colours of the moving pixels will get exaggerated according to the frequency you specify. That's why I was hoping for a reddening of the bandages which I mistakenly thought I had found:

In re that Eulerian video magnification business: I've played around with it for a while and I think that the most likely explanation for the red pulse that I pointed out is not that Joakim and Geoff are real but that it's an artefact created by the way the software works in combination with the fact that Joakim is moving and that there is a red background in the Geoff shot after him. Therefore I think that the gif I posted earlier can't serve as evidence and should be ignored (which it mostly is anyway :). I haven't been able to make it work with other segments of the interview yet, there is too much movement. Maybe it's possible to edit the video so that the faces remain still but that seems like a lot of work.

The only things now keeping me on the side of #TeamReal is Ockham and deep shame.

How can you count the number of people who chose not to vote?

I would imagine most of the people who see the thread and choose not to vote are those who think that the idea that it was CG is bullshit and can't be bothered to come in the thread. People who believe it's CG have something to prove and so would be more likely to vote.

I've been using Keyshot for a few years now. The results look great, and are crazy-fast to set up, but it's a raytracing engine that takes quite a while to produce a single rendered 1080p frame--especially one that uses their subsurface scattering-driven shaders.

You don't agree with me? I don't really understand why you're just posting laughing gifs like this. There's no problem if you liked MGS4, but I really feel that it has some bad writing (some of it is pretty good though) and that some of it is not consistent with what was established earlier in the series.

no its just hilarious that you think it has bad writing and story when its one of the best. i don't know what inconsistencies you're talking about.

I like how you can't come up with a decent response so you post gifs

the gif is a response. its about as well thought out and backed up as his post.

Unrelated, but does anyone know if SEGA is at GDC? It would be cool if we get a Yakuza 5 announcement, but I have a feeling they will be saving it for E3.
keeping the faith strong

I strongly recommend reading this essay by Veelk if you're in the mood: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=526287 as I agree with most of his points (especially regarding people acting out of character). That and the whole Jonny x Meryl arc was cringe worthy and revolting, no way it's good writing.

I don't want to argue about MGS4. I was totally excited for it for a long long time, I also was really disappointed by some (most, actually) plot elements which essentially killed my MGS hype (there were lots), but I actually rather liked the game as a whole. It's just my opinion and the fact that you find it hilarious is strange and somewhat insulting, but I think this thread is not the best place for settling such matters, so let's just leave it at that.
