In a series where characters go through as many design updates as this one, I don't think facial features really matter as much as the trademark styling cues. Big Boss' character model in V is different to the one in 4, but the eyepatch and bandanna make it obvious. Same thing with Ocelot: red gloves, spurs, grey hair, etc.
