ND gets on tv b/c they're a ratings magnet. But do Irish fans actually watch their awful ****ing games? They play nobody. They beat nobody. They get blown out against what little competition they face. How the hell are they a ratings magnet? PEACE.

Who wants to bet Notre Dame still gets a top ten ranking next season?

But of course, they've got guaranteed heisman candidate Klausen or whatever the hell the name of that surfer dude kid is.

hahaha, that was great, another dropped passed, and the safety doesn't try to hit him, but the WR crumbles, and his teammate points as if to say "late hit!!!!"

Holy shit, 15 of 35....That's like me trying to pass against Rorschach or CK!

So far Brady and Russell have thrown about the same number of passes and Russells stats are double Bradys. LOL! JaMarcus, please stay...you'll be a Heisman shoe-in.

Right now he's a legit top 10 pick if he leaves. I think he's gone.

BTW, :lol at them showing the Gatorade guys with 4 minutes still to go.

I've got a great thought on Russell's insane pass that was the play of the game. I knew I had seen that kind of throw before. I remember it fondly...

Sportsline.com game blog is letting ND have it. :lol

"LSU 41 - ND 14 - 4 - 7:27
Well, the story remains the same. This will be nine years in a row without a bowl win for the Irish, as the futility continues. The crowd in the Superdome says it all with an "Overrated!" chant. Perhaps the fans of the Bayou Bengals have hit in square on the head.

LSU 41 - ND 14 - 4 - 7:27
Keiland Williams is into the end zone, as he was mostly untouched. The Tigers are romping the Irish now, as perhaps Notre Dame was a bit overrated. Who exactly did they beat this season to earn their lofty ranking, anyway? They should have to join a conference and earn their way in with a championship just like everyone else. Because it is really fun watching a beat down like this, isn´t it?"

Come on Jimbo, turn Xavier into a star and turn around our program. If Steele does leave to Alabama, that more or less gaurantees that Jimbo would slide into the HC successor position. Don't be stupid and listen to your wife!

Oh, and early word is, he's already working on Recruiting, and changing alot of minds of players who had decided against Alabama beforehand ;)

"Auburn has a good program and Miami will land on their feet with Coach [Randy] Shannon," says Hoover blue-chip defensive tackle Kerry Murphy. "But Nick Saban at Alabama kind of blows it out of the water."

LSU, LSU, LSU!

Now that the season is over with another big Bowl game win, time for Les Miles to start sucking JaMarcus's dick really hard to get him to stay another year.

They get on TV and get good ratings because everybody hates them and watches in hopes of seeing them lose and fall on their face and say, haha. I call it the Lakers syndrome.

Here's ND record for bowl games since '95

95) Col 41 - 24 ND
96) FSU 31 - 26 ND
97) LSU 27 - 9 ND
99) Ga Tech 35 - 28 ND
00) Oreg St 41 - 9 ND
03) NC St 28 - 6 ND
04) Oreg St 38- 21 ND
05) TOSU 34 - 20 ND
06) LSU 41 - 14 ND

:lol

Congrats to ND on an NCAA record 9th straight bowl loss!

It was incrediblely satisfying to watch Notre Dame get destroyed by LSU, despite the refs best attempts to screw LSU (however, in a blowout like this, there wasn't much that they could do). If the Raiders don't take Russell with the first pick of the draft, they are completely idiotic. Sure, he has had issues with decision-making in the past, but he's gotten much better over the last two years and will continue to improve in this area in the NFL.

On another note, as you can imagine, I'm not thrilled about Saban's hiring. On one hand, it's great for the conference, for the state, and for the rivalry. On the other hand, I really would like to keep the streak going against Alabama (it's up to five now) and this will probably hurt Auburn a little bit when it comes to recruiting. One thing that Alabama fans need to remember is that a coach who has been historically good does NOT equal instant success, so I wouldn't expect national championships anytime soon.

Interesting story by someone that seems to have alot of information behind the scenes on the Shula to Saban deal

Rumortastic!

He also feels that Fisher is 99% going to Bama.

I too also wanted to know why Notre Lame got that ranking. The hype train they had coming into the season led to a high preseason ranking and they never really fell from that.

Pre-season rankings FTL. They should be done without.

I agree with this post. No pre-season rankings = 2005 Auburn/USC National Championship Game. Also, to anyone saying that Tuberville was bitching in 2004, he had EVERY ****ING RIGHT to bitch in 2004. He is a HUGE supporter of a playoff system so why knock him?

so is Russel basically like Culpepper 2.0? will we be hearing a lot of "Russel to Moss" next year?

Only if Russell gets drafted by Jacksonville.:D

I fully expect Tice to get promoted to O Coordinator and him to push for a trade for Moss, we'll toss them Garrard or Leftwich.

NOTRE DAME HAS RETURNED TO GLORY!

So what happens if in his first 3 years he goes 1-2 against Michigan, 0-3 against USC, and 0-3 in bowls? Because I'd say there is a very good chance of that happening.

From what I understand, Jimbo Fisher is a done deal and has removed his name from the running for the Florida St. job (take that Meier). Also, word is that Steele from Florida St. will be coming to be our defensive coordinator. Saban is also supposedly bringing 4 of his assistants from the Dolphins.

I think you mean number 1 pick. He will go before Quin and most likely 1 or 2.

I want the Bucs to take him. Chris Simms and his 2-year extension can blow me.. hope we win the coin toss for the 3rd pick over the Browns.

http://www.wvgazette.com/section/Sports/WVU+Football/200701049?pt=0 -- Rodriguez confirming that Trickett is on his way. Article indicates it will likely be officially announced by the university tomorrow.. let's hope Jimbo Fisher as OC is as well.

Heh, I want the Browns to take him but I doubt they are smart enough. He will probably go 1 or 2 anyways.

Says otherwise. Hard to know for sure, but if he had removed his name from FSU's pool, it certainly would have been posted on Warchant and it hasn't, so I don't believe that bit just yet. Seems 60/40 in favor of FSU to me.

Steele is as good as gone I imagine. His parents live in Tuscaloosa and he'll jump from a positions coach to a coordinator. Joe Kines was FSU's LB Coach in the past, so he might be headed back if Steele comes in.

Brady Quinn is the next Ryan Leaf/Tim Couch/QB failure, mark my words

So will Matt Leinart.

I disagree. However, he will NOT be the third-best QB in the NFL in three years like fat-ass Weiss claimed. When you have Manning, Brady, McNabb, Brees, Palmer, Bulger as well as up and coming QBs like Rivers, Baby Manning, Romo, Cutler, Young, and Leinert, that is an absolutely ridiculous claim for him to make.

Wow, Saban's press conference is infinitely more impressive than Mike Shula's. I remember Shula looking like a damn deer caught in the head lights and stammering his way through the entire conference. Saban's just running with it.

I'm not sure if I'm reading this right but are you saying Leinart is going to be a Ryan Leaf type failure? He already did more this year on the Cards than Leaf and Couch did in their careers.

You gotta understand, Saban's done a helluva lot of "welcome to the program" press conferences:lol

Although, I have never defended Tim Couch before ... he shouldn't be lumped in with Ryan Leaf.

In 2002, he led his team to the playoffs (well, he was on his way until he got injured) ... but he put up these stats.

Comp 273
Pass 443
% 61.6
YDS 2846
TDS 18
INT 18

That's a solid year for someone that never had an offensive line or a running back.

REAL recent failures have been Nate Hybl and Rick Mirer. In fact, Quinn reminds me ALOT of Rick Mirer.

Word is that FSU is going to have some press conference at 1 in regards to all the new signings and Kevin Steele's leaving. We'll find out in a few minutes if that's true.

He's also using the same notes from his first LSU press conference and the Miami one. I could have given it.

Turns out it was just a teleconference with Rick Trickett discussing his hiring. Nothing yet on Jimbo or Lawrence officially. Kevin Steele has left to be the Alabama DC as well. :(

"I am not a miracle worker, I am a hard worker. So will be the offensive line. If they are scared of hard work they are going to have a problem. If they aren't, they will probably be All-Conference. If they are lazy, we will have a problem. If they are not, they will probably be All-American."
-Rick Trickett, my new hero

I can only dream about a Jimbo Fisher offense with Rick Trickett's blocking. X Lee and Antone Smith are gonna be superstars (even without Jimbo, having a competent OL coach is gonna be HUGE)!

True. Too many people get caught up on fancy offensive coaches, and forget to notice good OL coaches. To be successful, you NEED good OL play.

Contract extension, duh.

BTW your new tag is awesome. :lol :highfive

On the other hand, I'm slightly disappointed that Brady Heisman got totally owned, because it would've been kind of funny to see what happened if the Raiders took him with their #1 pick. Heh.

Quiet you! JaMarcus is going to make an excellent Raider.

I hope. :(
