Why not? It's no secret the Persona fanbase is it's own thing, a fanbase of which probably won't care much for the SMT franchise itself. Perhaps they may think this is "sidetracking" Persona 5, hence the quiet that's been surrounding it.

But yeah game looks great. Atmosphere looks perfect, music seems good so far, battles are fast, etc.

But... those new demon redesigns aren't sitting well with me! Wish they would have made them new demons instead of replacing old designs.

Do you have any proof for this supposed antagonism from the Persona fanbase towards the SMT mainline games or their hatred for any Atlus game that isn't Persona 5? Because that sounds like nonsense.

Yeah...why are there so many dislikes??? Battle looked extremely slick and fast. I mean I'd gladly trade the perks that come with third person battles for this (I just wish they'd step up the 2D animation but I have now accepted they are obviously working with a limited budget compared to Persona/Nocturne). I love me some first person battles regardless.

I'm sure it will come with some sort of CD and or Artbook. Nearly every Atlus portable has.

Also, this is probably using one of the larger capacity 3DS carts, which might be driving up the cost for it in NA.

I think the bucket-ness was on purpose, every track sounds kind of "raw". From what I've heard on Youtube videos the music is exactly the same when compared to my PAL copy.

There's also the Fiend Battle theme from SMT3 in one of the trailers

There is no proof because it's nonsense that SMT fans made up and assumed. There isn't a large number of Persona fans who hate SMT like some people would have you to believe.

Yeah, I actually hear more SMT hate from SMT fans building strawmen that they call "Persona fans". I'm not sure why this attitude exists. There's a lot more antagonism coming from SMT against Persona than vice versa. Most fans of one tend to be fans of the other in my experience, myself included.

The Assmodeus design was probably way too detail-intensive to be properly rendered in a 3D engine, thus the switch to 2D first-person to display his full majesty. All those keys! Those rings! Endless jutting boney parts!

They should be second-person battles. You spend every fight staring at your own characters, while the enemies are just icons at the bottom.

Do I have proof for a hypothetical? Of course I don't. I said it wasn't out of the realm of possibility, I didn't say it was happening.

However, I will say again that at least in the west, Persona is more well known and popular than the mainline SMT series. Now, that has been shifting to the SMT side more and more, but I think for many Persona is and will always be their franchise favorite.

It's very likely a very small group of people that are trying to out vocal minority an already small vocal minority.
