So is that a confirmation on the police scanner that the 2nd suspect has not been caught?

if thats the case then i agree. i cant decide which way to read it.

i can see the cops having a perspective of hey, if you're on your cell you could be putting cops somewhere else in danger, so deadly force could be justified.

i mean i doubt they would actually shoot somebody for being on a cell either way, but still.

no, they put out a statement regarding cellphone use in the area. you're just an idiot.

Some girl in the area on twitter posted something like police told her to get off her cellphone if she wanted to live. Maybe I'm wrong but it read to me like an implied threat that they would shoot her otherwise.

May not be a good time to say this but I hate how police can be such overreacting meatheads.

They said that because using the phones could trigger the undetonated bombs. Possibly killing them. A threat...smh.

A car chase involving a stolen state police SUV and a series of explosives being dropped out the window

Less than an hour after a campus police officer is shot

Two days after bombings of civilians at a marathon

Yes, why would anyone possibly think this merits interrupting programming during the all-important 1AM ratings hour for? :p
bingo bango bongo

"he was arrested for wearing a backpack! no probable cause" by some 'friend'.

uh anyone else hear that? If you match a description of someone, that's enough probable cause to arrest you.

What news channel is providing a good glimpse on what is happening cause CNN etc is without clue. Is there a stream you guys are following?

Now this guy DOES look like the suspect

You intentionally being ignorant?

No, merely curious. I've seen lots of similar crimes on reddit (/r/worldnews) but this is the only one that seems to warrant a title starting with "HOLY SHIT". If you believe me to be ignorant, maybe you could help me out by explaining the reason why this is garnering so much shock.

Local resident says 2 men threw what appeared to be "pressure cooker bomb" at police. Bomb robot still on Laurel St. (va @ravisomaiya)https://twitter.com/MichaelSkolnik/status/325123608672342016

10/10. Almost made me respond seriously.

...

I'm rather lost trying to follow this. Think I'll just wait until people start reporting it here

maybe you should read the thread or just the title would be enough

Explosives. In a residential area. After a car chase.

After a campus murder.

Two days after a bombing of civilians at a marathon.

And your standard for too much coverage is that someone on reddit put capital letters in their title.

I don't mean to sound selfish or whatever, but this shit is making it SUPER difficult to stay focused on studying for my final. I go to school in Boston.

So some other random guys are throwing pressure cookers out of their window in a stolen police SUV?

I just dont understand
