Boston: One dead, one captured, city re-opened

The fact that they may have had more bombs and guns makes me believe the marathon bombing was not their only target. MIT may have been another target and encountering the cop and the shootout forced them to flee and get into this mess we see now. The 7/11 thing I can't really explain. I can see blowing up MIT as making sense though.

There is no way this guy can slip through a perimeter like this. There's gotta be hundreds and hundreds of officers on scene.

There's a 2nd option for him in this case. Who expects him to actually come out alive? He'll go down in a fire fight or he'll kill himself.

The channel 7 reporters' reluctance to jump to conclusions is refreshing.

Blitzer would have reported the suspects jail sentence by now.

Hard to imagine someone who organised something like the Boston marathon attack would stoop to a 7/11 robbery inside the next week though.

You get stupid when the walls start closing in (their pics being widely available).

Not to turn this into a gun debate, but if they are using assault rifles that they got without background checks, that shit would be ether for anyone that voted against the senate bill a couple days ago.

No, because Assault Rifles are illegal unless they're Class III licensed, and thus shows how much black market stuff is floating around.

This is absolutely insane. I don't know how I'd react to a situation like this. I just can't believe the officers there don't have rifles in their cars, or that they don't have their own patrol rifle. Especially after all this going down.

6-8 miles. Much closer to Watertown than MIT. (i'm sure your family is fine, though)
I'm sure they are, it's just that cousin has cerebral palsy and I'm sure all this craziness would not be helpful for her. I'm more worried about my uncle who is a police captain with BPD.

Channel 7 keeping journalistic integrity intact.

Won't report news without confirming it first. Good for them.

not buying it. We saw thepicture of the guy earlier. Didn't look like either of them.

The guy on the ground? They released him. And the other guy on the pushed over the trunk of the car hasn't been identified yet as the suspect in custody. Or has he? I haven't heard it

It's possible they tried to rob the 7-11 (in order to get out of town with some cash) and the officer responded, they killed him, and all went crazy.

Anyone know if the 7-11 was on campus?
