some random dude walkes into my house and takes my family hostage, i will be needing my guns for defense mang..i mean the whole fuckin town is on a lockdown and people inside their homes probably have no idea what is going on and sacred shit less...

may be i stretching this a bit, i have always been a supporter of stronger gun laws and 2nd amendment sounds just stupid to me..but i just thought of myself and family as being in one of those houses in water town right about now and BAM ! them guns ain't that bad after all

The public education system in America and the UK is appalling, students aren't taught basic world knowledge nor history. But firing incompetent administrators and teachers 'harms the children'. Poorly funded school systems also contributes.

/Needed money and LoR, had to grade papers for professors. I have no idea how some of the students got in.

I feel embarrassed to admit it but that's the first thing I thought of when they said the suspects may be Chechen. Really though this entire thing has been very confusing with lots of misinformation and jumping the gun. That image with the supposed uncle a few pages back was just ridiculous. However, the poor phone signal between Tony and Paulie results in a mix-up: Paulie passes the message on that Valery killed 16 Czechoslovaks and he's an interior decorator, to which Christopher replies, "His house looked like shit." As the night draws nearer, the lost, shivering pair become more desperate to find their way to food and warmth.

I am laughing so hard at Christophers line.

Chechnyan terrorists groups have close ties with Al Qaeda. They share motivations and targets. These guys though could be operating by themselves though. I hope this is clarified somehow after all this ends.

You guys don't seem to realize that Chechens go beyond just the Chechnya-Russia issue. There are Chechens who have joined Islamic fundamentalist groups like Al Qaeda / Taliban and fought against the US and allies in places like Afghanistan. Prior to that there were even Chechen fighters involved in the conflicts in the former Yugoslavia.

And this was initially unrelated to the Boston bombing, right? It was only after a while that these guys were ID'ed and "holy shit, its the bombers!", right?

Just watching CNN and the woman on there made a good point, despite the damage done alot of this reeks of small time thuggery over organised sponsored terrorism, the fact they are still in Boston so many days after tells us they clearly didnt have a plan, or at least a good plan to leave the country or even leave the state. Im not sure whether this is a comforting notion or not, that small timers can cause such damage and terror, but are just anomalies. At least this comforts that there is no more carnage to come, or greater terrorist threat looming.

Woke up, ready to do some last minute cramming for my final. See that school closed.

So the only new thing that's happened is the suspects have been ID'd by name and they are Chechyen.
