Boston: One dead, one captured, city re-opened

With what probable cause? Simply refusing entry isn't enough.

I suppose you could argue that this is a pursuit and so far they've followed guidelines regarding a suspect fleeing into structures/buildings. Meaning they've established a containment perimeter and have waited for specialized units to be called in to proceed. Just because it's a larger area than usual and is taking longer doesn't mean those pursuit guidelines aren't still being followed, if loosely. I wasn't able to find the pursuit guidelines for the Boston PD so I have no idea how well this situation would fit in with their local guidelines.

CNN: "I've never seen Watertown so empty...it's like...a bomb was dropped in the streets"

WTF? LOL

She really did say this.

"Wolf, I've never seen anything like it before. Being in Watertown right now, the streets are empty. It's eerie -- it's as though a bomb had dropped somewhere and the streets are clear."

That's been reported a number of times. CNN may be late, but I don't think they're wrong this time.

Nope, I was watching one of the Boston stations at lunch on my iPhone and they said they had confirmed that 15 officers were taken to the hospital for treatment of various injuries.

I hope this kid is alive, and they figure out what his motives were. There are a couple points hinting at the brother being an extremist (youtube subscriptions) and possibly hot headed (domestic violence). Even his uncle called him an idiot. The younger brother, though, is described as a typical college student, fairly friendly, and even a person who went out his way to help others. It's just so odd. The other thing is the older brother actually tried to hide his identity at the Marathon. The younger brother went in with his hat backwards, eyes uncovered.

I feel bad for everyone in Boston.

I grew up in the DC area during the time of the DC sniper. It was horrendous. A month of terror.

If they never find this guy there is no guarantee that he would not strike again somewhere after recruiting another partner. Not sure I would feel safe at all.

The woman on CNN just said "It's eery outside, almost like a bomb has gone off."

You don't say?
