However, the company (42 Entertainment) who did the ilovebees ARG for Halo 2 registered one domain this year : www.historyhackers.com
They do a lot of ARGs and viral marketing so I don't think historyhackers will have something to do with Nextbox.

The way I think about it is that the more negative outlook someone could be and if they deliver the goods and really blow everything out and show a fantastic product with great software then people will be even more blown away and the haters will eat crow big time. It's a win-win either way!

It was an American ad. 11/5/13 in the States is 5th November (a Tuesday as fits their traditional release pattern), not 11th of May

I can understand why BF4, Watch_Dogs, and Destiny would be always online, but AC4 doesn't immediately make a lot of sense unless they're doing something different from past AC games.

With only a hour to do it all they can breeze by some system details and just show the flashy stuff. I wonder if they are required to entertain as well since it will be on Spike, like the Microsoft MTV thing with the Cirque du Soleil (the dance central Usher thing too), eating out more of it's time. Maybe this will be all tech, with a bit of entertainment and E3 to round it out with games and kinect stuff for investors..

Instead of having fun speculating with each other and making funny gif images the focus seems to be on being defensive and pro-actively attacking general opinions that may or may not have already appeared in the threat.

yeah, this is the big reveal. Sony needed to get out in front and let everyone know they're using x86 etc and not some crazy spaceman tech again so what they could show was a limited. That was one off.

The people they are addressing with the unveiling know. And especially Larry Hryb is a semi-official channel for MS. So yeah, that would at least make Larry look stupid. But he could easily duck it by saying: "Yeah, I wasn't involved in this choice, I would obviously have preferred showing the console", but they are going to show it.
