I can't get over how funny Eliza's goons look, especially the chicken-headed one. I mean look at him, why's he wearing reading glasses and a fez? It makes no sense! The glasses don't even work on him, he has no ears, how are they holding on to his head, pharaoh magic?
Why is everyone so mesmerized by Alex's glasses physics?
Their names are Albus and Horace, BTW.
Actually if you look at the Order of Preference posts from right before Eliza was announced as the winner, Mauricio is pretty much the very vocal minority that loves both characters. Nearly everyone else that preferred Annie had Aeon, Eliza, or both as their next choices before Minette and vice versa. Nobody's "splitting the vote", the fanbases are very different and have less overlap than everyone's assuming.

And I guess it's because he puts temple arms on them, even though some of the wearers don't even have ears.

Anubis and Horus -> Albus and Horace. Albus Dumbledore and Horace Slughorn are characters from Harry Potter, so that's also nice.
I was assuming they were named to be relatively close to Anubis and Horus, the ancient Egyptian gods that those characters were drawing inspiration from.
Edit: Woops, already addressed.
Their looks are based off the Egyptian gods Anubis and Horus who had a dog/wolf and owl/ibis for heads respectively.

Ha, that's clever. Knew the Egyptian god names but the Harry Potter reference is strange.
Except Minette isn't an overly-young looking character with a storyline-based "but it's ok! She's older than everyone!" mechanic... That's Annie.
A character introduced, as holding down a job, while getting hit on by creepy lecher guys, and people treat her as if she was introduced in an early middleschool-day plot or something.
There is a bit of a difference between a petite young woman, and a child.
It's also nice to note that Albus and Horace were two old friends who were at points the heads of two diametrically opposed houses.

There won't be any nice play here until one side gets put in it's place. June is gong to be a massacre on the beta.Which is why Team Bloody Stars is the truth. We already have the Blood Goddess, tiem for the Paladin of The Stars to round it out.
Also, Marvel heads and Skullbros, play nice.
It also means the metagame of this game will evolve constantly due to new character additions over the course of 18 months. How many fighters can currently say that?

Solar, isn't that the worst? I got reprimanded as part of a group on another forum because apparently Eliza voters were voting with their dicks the whole time.
Imagine that. A character that offers multiple stance play between a ranged heavy scythe user (with no mentions on whether or not she'd also have music based mechanics being a lounge singer), a lithe skeleton abomination for UNACCEPTABLE speed rushdown, and a sub mechanic that rewards strategic placement and spatial awareness...
But Tig Ol' Biddies Clause invalidates all that.
Edit: Ultimadrago's post and grim's quote are reminding me about that hilarious 4chan idea re: Ms. Fortune and Eliza. :lol

I know Ravi doesn't want to give away everyone's ranking stas but do you think we could get Eliza's final vote total or better yet how she did over the course of each vote? Would be interesting to see if her rank improved over the course of voting or if she was always number one.

He did let it slip when the top 8 were selected,characters 2-5 were extremely close to each other but that number 1 had a good lead over number 2. My guess is that it was Eliza. If things continue as they are right now the current top 4 are Annie, Minette, Aeon and Beowulf.

I just find it funny that almost all of the characters shown to have killed Minette in these .gifs are characters that Minette killed in the polls.

I am much less enamored of voting in Isaac than I was, but still very hyped about the idea of a Gundam colored Tachi-phona, so maybe Molly in first. Anyone producing Nocturnals themed Minette art will win my vote for her, too. Probably Talesin and Black Dahlia after that, then Scythana, Stanley, Isaac.
