I have a friend who has been arguing Goku should be in Smash for like 10 years. I really hope this doesn't happen as it would just validate his silly position :(

At least he'd be supper happy I suppose :P

Nintendo published Jump Superstars and it's presented like SSB. They can probably land the appropriate VAs.

Smash x Shonen crossover would pretty much be a system seller to me.
Can't wait to see Goku trip randomly.
 
Meh. Just wait a few more weeks until Nikkei leaks what we'll see. They're the only source you can ever really trust when it comes to Nintendo rumors.

B: Ki shot (can be charged to kamehameha if held)

VB: Spirit Bomb (charge able)

Final Smash: Super Sayian
 
Why is anyone paying attention to rumours from the IGN boards, of all places? Might as well consult the GameFAQs forums while we're at it. OH LOOK GTAV IS A WII U EXCLUSIVE

They've been reported by 2 Nintendo Fan Sites and I don't know exactly where the rumors are in the IGN Thread (16 pages), but APPARENTLY the guy who's been saying those rumors has been right in the past. (100 Year Old Gamer.)

He says:

2. The New 3D Mario will be the biggest we've ever seen and will look like nothing we've ever seen.
3. Retro's game is a futuristic FPS everyone wants them to do (heard that one before...)
4. A certain "Super Saiyan" was teased to be in the next Smash Bros.

I have no idea... but it's always fun to laugh.

I gotta be honest, i really hope #4 isn't true. I don't think anime characters belong in smash bros imo
 
I am quite firm in my belief that this guy is full of it.

Some of his "information" is presented so vaguely that he can easily claim that he was right once the real game is shown. For example, I believe he claims that Retro's game is "somewhat" futuristic. We generally see people wishing that Retro is working on Metroid, Starfox, or F-Zero. All three franchises could be classified as futuristic. Nintendo Directs beginning "on or around" May 24? How far off can he be and still be "around" the correct answer? He's obviously giving himself leeway here. Finally, how would he know how Nintendo's games compare with Sony's or Microsoft's?

I'll gladly eat crow if this guy is legitimate. But I really don't think I'll have to.

Otherwise it sounds like bullshit. And personally, I loathe the idea of polluting a franchise like Smash with characters that did not originate in the world of videogames. Bollocks idea.

They polluted the gameplay in Brawl, might as well finish things up by fucking up the roster.

There is two things I heard, either he said they would need to be made from a game, or the character of the game needed to appear on a Nintendo system.

Don't know which one is true.

Pretty sure it's botb. They have to have been born video game characters and have to have been on Nintendo systems at least some point in time. Good rules imo. Keep Mickey Mouse, Batman, Homer Simpson, and yes even Goku away from Smash.

Though I don't buy this for a second so no worries here.
 
This is the most ridiculous rumor posting since the days of the GameCube.

...but Goku in Smash would be as wild as Snake and Sonic were.
 
I don't really want Goku is Smash Bros, but I hope it's true, just to troll all those people who try to turn speculating about Smash Bros. characters into a science.

2. I've never seen a 3D HD Mario, so that's that.
3. Don't think so.
4. Not happening.
It would be awesome though.
