So can we say the new Xbox is not made in China? We would have had a new good leak by now.

Or simply production has not started yet.

Come one China! Don't disappoint us lol

Rare is slow so even with having all this free time, they probably only have one game to show.

If we are lucky, that is.

They did tweet back in Feb about wishing they could show off some of the "Jaw Dropping" stuff they are working on.

Rare are pretty much 100% confirmed to have a game out this year. Someone who worked there tweeted about working on a demo a month or two back. They've also said on their blog and Twitter account that they're currently super-busy.

Rare and "Jaw Dropping" gives me the image of the good old N64 days...then I realize it's 2013..I have no doubt they're capable of showing something as good as Killzone Shadow Falls.

Banjo's graphics is a behemoth. I don't have any doubts when it comes to a British dev and his graphics.

Somebody on here has been saying this for a while. There was a rumor that ms always had 8gb gddr5 and Sony upped theirs to match ms.

I always thought it was 8gb of GDDR3, not 5. Then there was the rumor where it would have 6gb of GDDR5 and 8gb of GDDR3, which for games it would use all of the 6gb and could also access 4 out of the 8 of GDDR3. Which in itself sounds fucking weird.

Say what you will about their output, Rare is no slouch when it comes to making graphically impressive games. Kameo still looks pretty good for a launch title, Banjo and Viva Pinata look amazing but rarely( no pun intended) get the credit they deserve in the graphics dept.

I wouldn't bet on that. God the hype is bursting through me veins.

I would. Especially i they were making a new Perfect Dark.

Ya I just read it and that's not at all how they described it or how MS did it in the past. But what are you saying about the diagram. That they had no others?

Not this detailed no. This wasn't some diagram that a few people made up, this was something that someone at MS who was working on functional hardware leaked. You could tell which spec MS was going with when it was found that IBM had taped out Xenon in Jan of 2004 and the basic specs of Xenos were leaked end of 2003. Point in case, post the detailed specifications for the other design MS was working on for 360. 360's specs leaked in early 2004 and murmurings about what direction they were going in could be traced back to 2003. PS3 rumors and leaked started coming around late 2004 early 2005 at at no point did MS have a kneejerk reaction and switch specs, despite some people thinking they would.

If MS was going to change hardware for 360 they wouldn't wait till 2005 to do so they would have done it early to mid 2004 at the latest. Or a better example, look at Dreamcast even Sega had decided on what hardware they were going to use in July of 2007, DC launched in November of 2008. And hell Sony was openly talking about PS2 by that time.

Waiting until 7 months before your system is expected to launch to decide on which design you're going to go with would be the dumbest idea ever from a financial and developer/development environment stand point. The R&D for these consoles is in the multiple millions, and even for MS that's not something they would eat just to eat. To employ a design team, have that team test various hardware setups/chip architectures, go through multiple fabrications for yield testing, get a developmental environment up and running, seed them to developers that's a huge expense and then add in they're basically doing it twice. One design gets the axe pretty early in the process to cut down on said R&D cost.

Is it possible that the leaks specs aren't what MS is using? Quite easily. Is it possible the leak specs are what MS will be using? Equally quite easily. Whatever direction MS goes in was chosen ages ago and not as a kneejerk reaction because of Sony's February unveiling, that's just stupid people theory propagated by dumb people who want to believe in nonsensical shit. Whatever design MS ends up going with they chose that design early 2012. The only question that remains now at this stage is what design (if there were multiple) did MS chose? Everything else is just static noise and stupid people theory.

My personal thought is the system won't be too far off from the specs we've read thus far. Occam's razor and all that jazz, if there was secondary design that was vastly different it would have leaked in some form at this time because it'd have to pretty far along, which also means companies outside of MS would need to be working on it which means the inevitable leak. Same goes with 360 designs, the simple fact you can't find the secondary design specs online but you can find in abundance the primary design specs leaked as far back as Jan of 2004 shows you in calendar form when MS decided on which specs.

I'd say we should all temper our expectation on some crazy eye exploding hardware and embrace the reality that maybe, just maybe what's been leaked is what we're going to get for the most part. From PS2-Xbox-GC-PS3-Wii-WiiU-360-Vita-DS-PSP-3DS we've seen the specifications leak early time and time again and have yet to see the final hardware be something completely different and foreign.

Personally I know MS/ATI know what they're doing, so while Xbox fans engage in self loathing and hate MS for abandoning them because...well I don't know why. I think MS is going to surprise everyone and show stuff that is new and exciting, and the fans that doubted them are going to look utterly foolish. You'll then see them backpedal saying they believed in MS all along.

Either way, we'll know for sure in less than 5 days.

You people really need to have more faith that MS knows what they're doing and understands hardware better than a bunch of wiki programmers and naysayers on NeoGAF. I don't understand how MS fans are so negative toward MS.

8 gb was coming from multiple reliable sources, we all thought it was really happening.
12 GB, ray tracing, dual gpu, always sounded like fanboy wishful thinking in response to ps4 unveiling.

would be happy if ms had a much more powerful beast on 21, but I'm not counting on it, slight over clocking and maybe even 12 GB can make sense, especially if Durango indeed reserves 3 for os.
anything more than that is doubtful IMHO.

I don't even think that there will be any changes (although I believe that even with its rumored specs Durango would be only slightly behind PS4, and not necessarily in all respects), but claiming that we know what the specs are going to be is just wrong, plain and simple. Surprises on that front are definitely possible, and considering how tight Microsoft's security seems to be, judging the likelihood of that happening is difficult.

A true Banjo Sequel would be nice. Nice action/platform with that added "gotta find them all" hook that those type of games are famous for.

You understate rare technical know how of hardware. Most of the designer and stuff left if im not mistaken haven't really heard about engineers leaving or am i delusional?

Match the amount, not the type.
I read an rumor a while back that said ms had 8 gb gddr5 all along and Sony had 4gb. The "source" was implying that Sony upped their ram to be on par with ms. Probably not true. There have been so many conflicting rumors about this machine that I'm trying really hard to not have any expectations.

So, at this rate are we expecting CoD and Titan on the FPS side, but also Forza and PGR on the racing side at this event?

The only rumours I would go with are the VG Leaks one TBH, almost everything besides the rumours that the Sony had upped to 8GB that appeared a few days beforehand were true, I expect the same for Durango.

If they are true we get a competent entertainment device, if they up the specs then we get a nice surprise. I wouldn't start hoping on random bits from random people on forums, most are made up by people who haven't the foggiest about actually having to put a machine out that actually needs to be sold at under a grand.
