There's a spot open this time.
Who won out of the top 4 last time isn't as predictive as who got into the top 4 last time.

Yes, but the point is that without Eliza, Beo is top 4 since we know for a fact that he was #5 by only like 5 or 10 votes I don't remember specifically.
It depends, though, how much the plurality vote benefited him. Which is data that we don't know.

This is speculation mostly. Eliza likely benefitted from the previous voting system. She not have even been #1 during top 8- she could have merely scooped up all the votes of people whose candidates were eliminated during 8 to convincingly win during the final round.

Yeah, I expect the data to provide a lot of interesting insight. I wish there had been a question sometime during round two along the lines of "Did you ever try to 'game' the system during the first round of voting?"

Not all, but we know for certainty that a number of her votes would probably go to the male characters judging from the responses last round after all the male characters fell and people then saying they'll vote Eliza because she's the "least offensive" one.

A character that gains an advantage outside of meter when getting hit sounds cool to play with. An uber god and a fish waiter doesn't fit the idea that a lot have of Skullgirls. Of the four who were in the finals, Eliza seemed like the one that makes sense. Offensive is the wrong word though.
Out of all the characters Eliza has the most well rounded appeal of top 4. She grabs the badass crowds, the Skullgirlgore crowd, the sexy crowd, etc.
There are too many "stars" in top 10, so the majority "Eliza" votes are going to be split up.
When it was top 4, Eliza was a clear answer because she encompasses all the traits. People can argue Black Dahlia has similar traits but at top 10, it's anyone's game. For example, the badass crowd might vote for Black Dahlia, Beowulf, Isaac, Annie, etc. The cute crowd for Minnette or Aeon, etc.
Eliza just had an incredible character design, visually, and cool gameplay mechanics to match up with it.
She was the clear "winner" from day 1. Vote 2 was always going to be the ??? one.

That's assuming the results are inconclusive all the way through everyone's preference list and somehow becomes a tie after all that. A tie being no one ever gets a majority. If that happens I think the highest preference wins but I'm not 100%
