Animal Crossing: New Leaf comes out in a month.

3DS needs Miiverse, even if it's just for friends invite ^^'
I have my game pre-ordered since a few months ago already, hopefully I'll get it day -1, already happened a few time with Amazon's shipping.

Amazon's saying I may get it the 7-8th, if not I'll get the digital and return the physical copy when it arrives.

I bought Monster Hunter Ultimate and Fire Emblem this month, so I could buy Luigis Mansion to get AC for free. Thing is, I'm in France on a camping with probably shitty wi-fi on the 14th of June. I can totally see it happening that I enter my download code, start downloading, internet starts shitting up, download stops, enter my download code again and it being invalid or something. Oh well.

Thea wait for Gamestop to open, having to transfer my 3DS onto the XL and then redownloading the game is going to be excruciating.

Go digital. Put New Leaf on your front screen. Instantly see a green or blue light on it if you have street/spotpass. WIN.

Will make those 24 days (europe) nicer.

Also : do you know how to make the nds lite clock function again ?
Do I have to change the battery ?

So I'm crazy and have decided to get both physical and digital. I've preordered physical from Shopto for ~£27 and will get the digital copy for FREE from NoEs "So many games!" promotion. Need that beautiful box art AND I can have two towns if I want.. uhhh

(Also physical copy can let me play the game if NoE are slow to send out the codes)

You realize you'll have to have separate save data for physical/digital?

I'm really worried about NoE not sending out the codes in a timely fashion. I guess we'll see how it is with Donkey Kong on Friday.

Yes! Hence the two towns bit :P

Also the save data transfer utility should be up when the digital version gets released. That way I can transfer my progress in the physical copy to the digital copy (should physical arrive before NoE sends out codes)
 
I laugh at that thread wondering what makes AC so good. Its like asking what makes CoD (singleplayer at least) or any series so good. LOL.

Anyway, love that New Leaf symbol for avatars. I'll add it to my avatar.

Don't forget about the features that got removed from the European release!

I gave up after a year, and imported from Australia.

Best decision I made. eReader cards aplenty!

As for the few days wait, I'm just going to avoid Animal Crossing threads, hahahah. It'll be fine.
 
Man. I haven't played an AC game for years. The last I really put a lot of time into was Wild World. Loved that one.

I think New Leaf may well get me back into it. Looks awesome. I'm ashamed to say that I have neglected my 3DS. Besides OoT (pretty much all I bought it for) I've barely played it. Hopefully I can re-acquire that AC addiction and get some more use out of the system.

Also I have been thinking, and I think this may be my first full retail game bought on the eshop. Just makes sense with this style game. But then again I always like having a box when I buy Nintendo games....arg.

It will be mine too.
I went as far as buying Fire Emblem at launch physically when I also had access to it digitally. In that case however, the physical copy is the only one played.
 
I'm having a hard time holding out for the Animal Crossing 3DS XL. I'm not terribly enamored with the design, but knowing Nintendo it's going to be limited enough to warrant the purchase. With so many great titles announced and released for the 3DS, I think it's time for me to jump back to Nintendo's ship.

This game has me the most interested right now. I've never played Animal Crossing before, but it seems like the perfect handheld game. What can/should I expect as an AC newbie?
 
I'll be in LA for E3 when this is out, going to go find the game when it comes out. :D
 
We´re thinking about getting a second 3ds, just to play Animal Crossing together

If i format my current 3ds, do i lose all my saves and friends?

What about downloaded games?
 
I don't know if I should get this or not. I never played an Animal Crossing game before so I'm not sure if it will hook me or not. I feel like it may be something I'll sink 15 hours into when I first get it and then get side tracked or frustrated with some aspect of it and never touch it again.
 
Ow, gosh. I feel excited like in 2006, when Wild World came out and I got into one of the most relaxing and raccoon-hating gaming experiences in my life.
To be sure that the feeling of the game wasn't expired (after a generation of FPS and TPS) I bought City Folk last week aaaand...I'm in love again.
 
Can't wait, still have super fond memories of the original. Like waking up early before classes so I could play and do a few things at 5 am, leave and come back home by 3 pm and play again for awhile. And that hourly music that I love so much.

Is there a big benefit to having a large friend list for this? Will add people on the list closer to launch, but I'm just curious.

It'll speed up collecting the furniture sets since they are put out randomly. That's what I'd do, check out their shop first. And of course trading fruit, but furniture sets are huge in comparison.

Remember Redd? He'd show up once a week on a specific day.
