A good benefit too is turnip prices. More friends means you will invariably get lucky when one of them has insane prices on them.
Wonder how we'll handle turnip prices when it's live. Wouldn't like to see the OT spammed with prices every day. Should probably set a threshold and if anyone has over that, they post about it.

Is there any way people can vandalize your town online? I remember that being a huge problem with WW and I'm almost afraid of it happening on this too.
Well... flowers are very susceptible to anyone "running" over it. And they can cut down your trees. It'd be nice if the devs offered a fence of sorts to keep this from happening. Our own garden/orchard inside a gated fence would be nice.

900+ seems worthwhile for turnips. There are so many peeps here that there's bound to be a close-to-max price sometime during the week.

Pretty sure in the direct, if you leave a town up for people to visit, they instead visit a "virtual" copy of your town, so any changes they do aren't permanent.

Yeah that's my hope too. Not really much of an online kind of gamer but AC seems like it will be enjoyed more by going online so I put my FC out there.
It only took me about 20 minutes to figure out the ones I already registered and the ones I didn't. Now everything is neatly color-coded in an excel file.

Yeah, but I've currently got a full list so I'm planning some much needed clearing out before AC arrives so I can add members of CrossingGAF.
Already sent a Swap Note message to find out who still uses it and have 29 responses so far, so I may just scrap the rest. :/ That should give me plenty of breathing room.

Yeah, but that's only the Dream Suite version. You can also invite people over the traditional way, and that's where thievery and shenanigans take place. But I intend to only go online with CrossingGAF, so it should be safe! I'm sure we'll soon "blacklist" people that are meanies.

Rather intrigued by this whole concept of it giving you a character based on the questions it asks you. Wonder what I may end up with....
That's for the dream towns you access on the Dream Suite or whatever it's called, however, actual online multiplayer doesn't work like that...
Let's see...
In Animal Crossing, each town has its own town gate, if you go to it you can have one of the guards open it to allow people from "outside" the village access it OR you can check if any of your friends have their town gates open. If you do open yours then you can keep playing normally with your gates open until one of your friends comes through, at which point you'll both be playing in your town doing stuff, but what can other players do in your town? Well, almost anything! They can buy and sell items at your shops, make/alter clothing patterns, take stuff from your recycle bin (sometimes villagers drop furniture and pitfall seeds here), fish, catch bugs, dig up fossils, and more, but the thing is they can also take your fruit AND take or run over your flowers (which kills them) which generally you shouldn't do unless the town owner gives you permission. It sounds a bit frightening but we're all assuming that nobody here would do such a thing, and if someone catches another doing so, well... bad things will happen... !? O:

Well being in Europe it will actually be called Nintendo Letterbox or something like that depending on where you're from. I traded in my Xbox 360 for a Pop Tart. I already have a 3ds and decent collection of games, So I felt like the XL would be more valuable than an Xbox I wasn't touching after beating most of my library.
Comparatively, I haven't even scratch the surface of my 3ds library. So I have a lot of play time I can get out of this nice big screen. Does the Club Nintendo pouch fit the XL?
Anyways. Animal Crossing is going to be boss. I can't wait to see the whole delicious package.

I'm a bit on the fence for this, I'd like to get it cause one of my friends is getting it, but as I said in another thread, the rolling pin world always kind of made me feel a bit nauseous so I never played any of them past the first for more than half an hour. Has anyone started off feeling like that but gotten used to it? I would like to get into it again.

this kind of bothered my wife when playing Wild World, City folk was fine. She got over it pretty quickly though. (5-10 hours of gameplay)
