It is all about the ROI. Even if FIFA was exclusive for say the first year, what is that, a million more XBOX 3s taken away from say the PS4? How much money would that be worth to MSFT. I can't give you an answer without seeing a lot more financial info, but I'm sure FIFA exclusivity would be a huge number and the ROI point would be even larger (probably 20% higher).

If it was lifetime (which would be very expensive of course), then MSFT possibly could make it up over a longer period of time.

Same reason why Xbox 360 is seen as the Call of Duty machine eventhough its readily available elsewhere. Start the early associations now with the biggest brands in gaming, score some timed DLC or some bullshit, win in the U.S. and Europe.

I'm sure Xbox will have exclusive DLC. And Microsoft is only showcasing those games at the event to get the attention of the casuals, since it is the debut of the Xbox. Hopefully they show at least one first party game tomorrow. E3 will be dedicated to us hardcore peeps

I just found out that Xbox 360 has sold over 8 million in the UK, about the same as the Wii so far. PS3 can't be too far behind. So little UK would be as big as Japan for consoles this gen.
