Oh, is it possible to change your hair colour in the game? Like, some of these little guys are screaming for dark blue hair.

I'm really fond of these new hamsters, but I also love the ducks and the dogs!
 
Can you still get the other gender's hair in this game? If so I imagine gender itself only really effects some subtle eye differences really.

And yeah you can change your haircolor and hairstyle at Shampoodle.

You can unlock the other gender's hairstyles or something at some point (is what I heard).
 
This game comes out really soon. Guess I need to buy an extra 3ds battery pack so I can always play this.

I remember the first animal crossing on gamecube, we bought it and had no idea what it even was and it was awesome. Skipped the wii version, did'nt seem too fun. But now that it's in 3-dimensions, i don't think i can resist.

You didn't miss anything, the Wii version was a retread of the DS one for the most part. This one adds a lot of cool stuff though.
 
Fuck, guys, do I keep my pre-ordered XL bundle or not?! Money is tight right now, and I already have an XL (a friend will buy my old one), but I feel like I'll regret passing this up.

If you can efficiently handle the money, I say go for it. I was in a similar situation before I 'upgraded' my launch red XL to the limited edition Pikachu XL. I swear, the screens on this thing are so much better; contrast and sharpness.

And if the XL-Chu is anything to go by, the poptart bundle is going to be RARE. If you can manage it, I say go for it. And if a friend is buying the old one, you would have no issues with the system transfer.

You'll regret passing it up. Especially once you have the game and you're head over heels - and you don't wanna risk eBay inflated prices. I mean, if you have to... you have to... but I think you already know you'll kick yourself if you don't.
 
I am SO hyped for this game! I've been hopelessly hooked on all of the previous versions and this one seems to be adding so much new stuff. I've been on a media blackout since it came out in Japan because half the fun is discovering the daily stuff myself.

My Mom (who is in her 60s mind you) preordered the XL bundle. It's the only game that she plays obsessively. I also got a friend to preorder the XL bundle when she found out it was coming out. It's all she played on her Wii - and now the 3DS will be her main system for her Animal Crossing fix. Got my copy preordered as well of course..

June 9 kicks off an amazing week! Animal Crossing on Sunday. Monday all of the major press conferences. Tuesday Nintendo Direct and first day of E3! Wed and Thurs tons of on-hand impressions and videos from E3. And then Friday - Last of Us on PS3!! What a great week!

I can't wait to get my hands on this game. I loved the look of the GameStop employee when i preordered it, it was a look of confusion. Got a few friends that will be picking it up with me and its gonna be great. Really looking forward to the minigames on the island, been excited for those since i watched a demo live at PAX.
 
So I've worked some pretty varied jobs so far, like the time I was a forklift driver in Shenmue or a rubbish collector in No More Heroes, but I'm hoping making coffee with Brewster is where my future lies!

Erp; I said 'so much better', right? Didn't mean to 'oversell' but it was certainly noticeable; better contrast and overall sharper, nicer looking image, especially the top screen. For all we know I could've had a poor-ish red XL, but yes, the screens on my second, newer XL do look better. And mind you, I didn't play much of my red XL; the screens weren't old, if that makes sense.

What seems unusual is that, typically, it's the other way around. I remember many ramblings of later, newer DS Lites having darker or off-color screens compared to first 'prints'. It's typical business; find cheaper parts or manufacturing for reduced costs.

So glad I upgraded to XL-Chu. Perfect timing, too; loved Fire Emblem Awakening and Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. And New Leaf. Oh God, New Leaf...

He said "Thank you! It was delicious." :) Oishi = yummy, katta is past-tense (ish)
 
Hmmm...I would consider upgrading to the Poptart, cause it does look great. But I don't feel like spending that kind of money, and I don't feel like dealing with all the transferring, and giving out friendcodes...It isn't worth it for just a sweet color and a rare model.

I'm glad I'm going with painting my XL. Feels a little more me, a little more special.
 
Coworker doesnt understand the appeal of this game and said his friend couldnt make him interested. DAMMIT I WILL MAKE HIM LOVE IT.
