Watching the last Nintendo Direct, which I feel was very unappreciated by gaf (including me), makes me think that Pikmin 3 implements the best timer system yet. You don't have a set time limit to finish the game like in Pikmin 1 and it's not unlimited like in Pikmin 2. Here you just have to make sure to collect bottles of juice so you don't run out of food, so you probably can decide between following your objective or gather supplies and come back another day.

Nintendo should be handling the Pikmin hype much better imo, because at this point it seems like nobody cares anymore, which is sad considering we have waited so much for this game.
