Sonic Lost Worlds Debut Trailer [Up: Wii U + 3DS screenshots]

I'm not impressed by the graphics but it looks fun though, and I hope you can use the Pro controller or the Gamepad. No Wiimote/nunchuck motion controls, please.

3D Mario won't be out in 2013.
There is NO WAY this and Sonic Lost World are releasing this close to each other.
Sonic's not big enough to carry things alone. Besides, Nov 2011 saw Mario and Sonic games releasing side by side on 3DS, so it's not like this would be unusual or anything.

Gameplay looks great, but it's definitely missing some lighting effects that Unleashed and Generations had.

If it's a deliberately simple look to give it a locked 60fps, I'm down with that.

Sega include a fish eye camera option!

Anyways hyped by the Sonic Xtreme vibes I'm getting.

Oh fuck me; I just had a thought.

Nintendo and Sega have said that the reason we've never seen a Mario & Sonic platformer is because they wouldn't fit together.

What if... the name Sonic: Lost World is a red herring? A codename? And the upcoming 3D Mario due to be revealed at E3... is this?

It would certainly explain the Wii U exclusivity.

It's a fucking long shot indeed, but one can hope...

You're not Xbox, but still: Go Home, You're Drunk XD

Darn that really looks like fun...I just like seeing that checkered land again, always great to see that in Sonic game, it just feels right.

I would be incredibly disappointed if the 3D mario somehow ended up being this, the fact that smash bros. is coming might not even stop me selling my WiiU out of anger.

Why Sonic trailers still get me hyped? Colors was good, almost great but generations was disapointing.

This looks very good, hope Robotnik shows up.

I loved Generations, but even so, I'm not one to anticipate Sonic games.

But Lost World(s?) looks so FUN. I really want to play it!

I actually like the look of the villains, too.

What the hell are you talking about? I do not understand how you get the idea that this is a red herring now that we've actually seen footage.

I mean, but, yeah, I'd be pumped for a Mario x Sonic platforming crossover.

I know, you don't have to tell me; I just enjoy imagining, just like the glory days of Mario & Sonic in the 16-bit era.

If you're referring to Generations, I'm sure Sega hasn't abandoned it. That's gonna have to be multi-platform though.

I actually feel that Unleashed had superior gameplay than Generations. But generations so happened to hit it out the park when it came to Level Design.

Looks really intriguing and I like the in-engine art style a lot.

Sonic Colors was better than Generations IMO because it balanced 2D and 3D sections well. Generations suffered from separate stages that were mostly 3D and Sonic Team still hasn't figured out a way to make Sonic control in a fluid manner in 3D. Colors minimized the damage by only using 3D for a few places where it worked well.

The gameplay here almost looks as if they've further re-thought how Sonic moves during 3D segments. If they can finally solve that problem they may have struck gold.

You know Sonic wasn't always that much about speed.

I mean it was, blast processing and all that, but not that much.

Particularly the Genesis ones.

As someone who has hated the reliance on speed since SA2, going back to a slower, more methodical pacing is a godsend. These games did used to be actual platformers, after all.

..........Why the fu-.... You know. Why do we even call him Sonic anymore? Why do they even avertise his speed or any of that bullshit if we're just gonna avoid it for now on. Let's paint him brown and call him Sonny Hedgehog like that stupid ass Sonic Bible story. lol

In 3D Sonic especially Speed is a part of his gameplay identity. Break neck speed and adrenaline rush is what separates him from any platformer that isn't Mario.

I'm gonna need more gameplay footage, a demo, and a speedrun video before I let myself get excited. Right now, I just feel disappointed.

But I may be wrong.

Gameplay looks cool but I gotta say, I'm a bit disappointed with the graphics. Sonic was always about pushing tech in different ways so it is a bit of a shame.

Unleashed and Generations are some of the best looking platformers out right now. Framerate aside.

Totally Sonic Xtreme. But it is not a Sonic game without Eggman.

And the main concern is the camera angles.

Edited: also the enemies looks like /rip off Kung Fu Panda.

I'm such a Sonic mark; I gotta have this game. Here's hoping it's 60fps.

I also hope that this is just a taste of what's to come games-wise for WiiU and Nintendo in general.

Diznang, that looks swell visually

but...i can't get hyped for a Sonic game. I won't allow myself to. Hope it turns out well though

C'mon Ami, do not refrain of having hope on another good Sonic game.

Eventually they will make a good one, won't they?

Since Eggman's bots are there I'm just going to assume that the new chaps are fulfilling some sort of Knuckles-like role as protector of something and they assume Sonic is a bad guy.

Not every game needs that development budget. And to think every game needs to be a technical showcase is just beyond me.

Also those technical showcases will be at E3. Namely Mario 3D and (hopefully) Retros game. Also Smash. We're a mere 2 weeks away...

Sorry but I really struggle to find an explanation to a first party funded game developed from the ground up for WiiU that is the first on a iconic and historic partership to be less impressive visually than a B multiplatform game for 6 year old hardware.

Gameplay it's awesome and I can't wait to have this bad boy on my 3DS but WiiU version should look no less that this

While that does look great, I honestly think this looks visually better.

Seriously, the graphics engine + art style for Lost Worlds looks incredible. So good.

That first thing sure does look familiar...

It's rough LOD, yes. Likely being left at really safe levels until the game is more settled then it will be optimized. Sonic Team is really good at handling that stuff, so don't worry.

OK. I typically don't really care about that stuff unless it really hampers gameplay.
