I'm trying to forget Type 0 exists. We are never going to see it. Never. Ever. EVER. Damn you, Square. I won't believe it until I can purchase a localized version of the game.

What of Noctis owned a PSP in game, so you could buy Type-0 in game and therefore play the game while playing the game?

Can I ask a question? Do you guys honestly believe Versus is going to be shown at E3, much less as a PS4 game? Is there any more evidence than just the Noctis perfume?

I don't know. I just feel like this situation is all too calculated for Square to finally re-unveil Versus after all this time without some monstrous catch. Especially considering the cold shoulder they gave Sony for basically the entire generation.

I'm 99.99999999999999% sure. There is evidence that supports this. There isn't just smoke, the fire is already roaring. It's happening. Unless square secretly has footage of a brand new FF game to show, which lets be real, has extremely low odds.

Guys guys, behave.

its for research reasons >_>

What's the evidence? I know about the perfume, but is there more? I want to believe, but Square has teased and hinted about this game and then done nothing with it for so long that it's honestly hard to even fathom the possibility that it's still coming.

And look where they are now.

The evidence is very much pointing to an E3 reveal. I don't think people will be disappointed this time.

I'm honestly way too lazy to dig the rumors up but there have been many pointing to it and also combine those with what square said at sony's ps4 reveal for E3 and there you go.

Well, you can expect a new Final Fantasy for the PS4, at the very least.

Things which suggest it's Versus rebranded;
- A few 'insiders' explicitly stated the game has been moved to PS4, and is dropping the XIII branding. Verendus has a ban bet that it will be there, he also claims Sony has some involvement with the game.
- Nomura himself has said the game is still in development but it's reveal has been delayed for reasons outside of his control, which will become clear (a platform shift?)
- Versus XIII as we know it uses elements of the Luminous engine (for lighting I believe?) which next-gen software will also use.
- Agito XIII was another FNC title which dropped the branding to become 'Type 0' so it's not an unprecedented notion.
- Nomura in interviews detailed the ambitious nature of the game, discussing the changes in concept (world map changes etc) which implies the game was pushing the hardware since its inception.
- Roen, clothing designer for Versus XIII dropped the Versus name from their website (despite having finished the work for the game in 2008) and had only 'Final Fantasy 15'.
- The official 'Noctis' fragrance has dropped the Versus branding (and is now named 'Noctis Final Fantasy') and is incidentally due to release 2 days after E3.

And as mentioned, Hashimoto at PS Meeting said a new FF will be at E3.

Emphasis on THERE WILL BE a FF title revealed at E3 ;)

I think he just means that he'd rather buy games on PS4 in general once it's out. Same reason I'm looking hoping Rayman Legends hits PS4, I know it'll be identical to the PS3 version but I'd rather play it with a DS4.

Exactly, especially since the PS4 is not BC with PS3 games. Surely it would run a little better too.

I hope you're right. I just feel like this whole thing is the setup for some elaborate troll. I mean, Square has done that before. Maybe I've got PTSD from the dozens of times Square's set us up to talk about Versus and then pulled the rug out from underneath us, but it just feels too perfect.

I really hope you're right though. Versus is pretty much one of the last upcoming games I have any interest in whatsoever. It'd be nice to see it come out and live up to Nomura's original vision.

See, my worry HERE is just that it'll end up being another XIII game or a completely unrelated XV. But again, I hope you guys are right. I don't want to rain on the parade. :)

So how disappointed would you guys be if Versus/XV indeed shows up at E3, but its just a CG trailer with no gameplay footage?

I would be surprised that they showed up with it at all, considering we've already seen gameplay footage and the game already looked very good then. It'd be silly for them to backpedal from that.

If said CG trailer had a release date (and not just "coming 2013", but a real release date), I'd probably be okay with it though, provided they released gameplay footage shortly thereafter.

I've been wondering the whole time why they got chummy with Microsoft. The Last Remnant and Star Ocean 4 (at launch) could have done way better on the PS3.

I would be concerned that if after countless years of development that a CG trailer is all SE have to show. Its important that they show off an extensive amount of gameplay at E3.

Greed? I don't know but in retrospect it was probably a mistake. They felt that siding with MS would automatically lead to a larger audience and that didn't happen.

Hopefully the learn from that , SE like a fair amount of Japanese companies push the 360 hard early on and it came back to bite them or they had to rush back to PS3.
They should be showing full support for PS4 early on to get the ball moving in Japan .

I really hope there are no leaks this year. I want to go in without knowing the surprises (even if we have rumours - its better than leaks and confirmations). Hopefully they manage to have it all sealed till the actual show.

You have to be invited separately.

Not sure if you can answer that, but I heard that to be invited to the conferences your website /media has to have a certain number of viewers/clicks/traffic or something like that right?

that happened a lot earlier this generation didn't it? With namco as well. Derrr more people own it therefore more sales.

Hard to believe any of these people went to business classes.

well I'm honestly surprised as hell that we've got nothing so far.

All we know about what will show up at the conference in terms of games:

- Destiny
- A Final Fantasy game

And that's it. Everything else is just speculation about what they will have on stage.

The whole japanese publishers bailing on Sony was a betrayalton of epic proportions.
Well, I guess they were betting the farm on the western market, a plan that didn't pan out obviously.

They should propose live demos of DiveClub and Infamous SS.

I used to run a (now defunct) gaming site back in 2009 and 2010 and we were fairly small-time. Had a few major scoops, but nothing lasting. Even so, we got invited to Sony and Microsoft's pressers. I couldn't go to E3 that year because of family issues, but I sent a writer over there to cover the conferences. I believe they do it based on overall web ranking and your relationship with their PR department, but I don't remember the specifics.

Man, that was a lifetime ago...can't say I'm not glad to be out of it, though. I think if I was still in that business now, I would've pulled my hair out or drank myself to death because of how the industry has "matured" this generation.

Hmm, really? But how do they even get to know everyone from so many different places around the world? You can register your site with them or something? I really have no idea how this all works...

Sorry if its off topic, Im just legitimately curious...
