It could be a VITA game.
Dark Souls is a spiritual successor and not a direct one. Demon's Souls IP still belongs to Sony. They could leverage that exclusivity down the line. An in house development would definitely aid the polish of the sequel as well.

I think the original statement was the creator of Demon's Souls was free and interested in the idea for a sequel.

I wonder if we will even get a new Ridge Racer at launch.
Seems the token launch racing game slots are being taken but actual racing games with teams that are actually trying like DriveClub and Forza this time around.

Yeah, the boss fights in Demon's Souls were amazing. Such a great game. I think Dark Souls does a lot of things better but overall Demon's Souls is the more rewarding game.

The PS Meeting was a standalone event though, with E3 it's fitting into a broader schedule, with people moving from the Ubisoft conference to the Sony conference etc. delays can happen.
I agree. Even though I started with Demon's, I loved playing Dark Souls. I think I got to level 150+ before I went to NG+ and killed the first boss with one hit XD.
The bonfire system does makes the difficulty more likeable and less frustrating due to the sense of progression it provides. Add to that their generosity with the amount of souls gained in Dark as opposed Demon's also helped. Plus, the improved visual is a definite bonus.
Of course, it'd be remiss of me if I don't mention the online component. It is a blast (when you're not getting violated left and right by invading spirits that level 200+).
Lastly, dat Ash Lake and Painted World of Ariamis .... dat surrealistic scenery, dat soundtrack, dat atmosphere.
However, even as a spiritual and chronological predecessor, Demon's Souls still outdoes Dark Souls in one area and that is the consistency in creating worlds with atmosphere. The entire game is brimming with it to the point where it goes from being an adventure to a survival horror game at times. It never relents at sending chills down your spine and drowns you into both introspection and speculation about how the place that you're in came to be. It effectively begs you to wonder about what was and what transpired.
I still crave the knowledge locked away beyond the broken 6th Archstone.

Yeah, I just loved the simplicity of it, and it was exciting and new at the time. That probably can't be recaptured.
And I just didn't like the free-roaming of Dark Souls. It made the progression a real chore in my opinion.

I know Cerny and Kaz are great in gif making but I seriously don't think they will have a presence in the e3 press conference... (maybe Cerny for the Hardware reveal but other then that they will only be in the audience)
On the other hand I believe that the two individuals who will be extremely present in Sony's E3 presser is probably Adrew House and most obviously Jack Tretton (seeing how he hosted the majority of E3 pressers)
So why don't we give them some gif love too?

They were in a shit load of the gifs made prior to the PS4 reveal event.

Cerny could very well present more of his game Knack.
But for Kaz Hirai, yeah I don't expect him to present anything. Maybe a nod to him in the audience like last year.
I think Kaz will reveal the console/price.

You guys think Sony will have a big-title giveaway month for PS+ since it's E3? I could see them wanting to advertise its value now and of its next iteration (which I'm sure they'll talk about at the conference) by pointing and saying ,"Look at all this free-ish stuff!".

Maybe. I don't think there'll be a lot to say about Gaikai beyond what's already been said. He kinda outlined their plans for launch and what their plan is for the future, so i can't see there being much to say only 5 months later.
