Can't wait for more details on Fire Emblem x SMT.

You know what I'd pay serious amount of rupees for?

A crossover of this:

and this:

I don't know how that would work out but it NEEDS to happen.

I hope Nintendo figures out that 1080p is a thing. It would be nice to see some of their more simple games in that high of a resolution.

I would actually want this to happen ... but sadly it will never be.
Or will it? Nah, this won't ever be made lol
Just one more week away for our predictable surprises apparently lol.

Since we're getting a Wii U direct next week I think it would be cool if they did a pre-e3 3DS direct this week. I don't think they will but they've got to show off the 3DS goods somehow and we've not heard about a 3DS direct for E3 yet.

They could do a mid-week Direct next week, similar to the 3DS conference they had last year. Or just release new trailers for everything.

If the silhouette of Mario is really from Galaxy, that's not a good sign, is it? You'd think they'd have some new concept art for the next 3D Mario.

About Super Smash Bros. 4, I wonder if they will do something like this if there is a trailer...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ueUMld-7VM

At the start of the trailer it shows Mario, Link, Kirby, and Pikachu running and there character models get involved with more polygons and gets updated with there current look, I think that would be great for them to do it also for this trailer to show off a true difference.

I'll always remember laughin at this trailer cause Kirby didn't change at all in Brawl.

Meh, we know about those titles already =(, people expecting surprises is going to be dissapointed just like the previous E3.

We are gonna have at least 2 surprises, Retro Studios game and the last Sega X Nintendo exclusive game.

Other then that we are gonna get to see for the first time ever in HD, 3D Mario, Mario kart, Smash Bros, Zelda maybe even WiiU Zelda plus more info on X, Yoshi Yarn, Bayo2 and TW101

If thats not enough for some people they will never be happy

Fuck I just learned that I have a final at 8 and this shit starts at 7. I'm not going to be able to watch it and I feel like GAF will be down during the whole thing.

I guess I'll post my expectations. I'm not going to be very detailed.

00:00-03:00: Intro. Summer update touched on that will be detailed later through a press release.

03:00-06:00: eShop sizzle reel. eShop Direct to air later.

06:00-13:00: Wii U Party/Fit details and release dates (I'm guessing Q3 and 4 respectively)

13:00-18:00: Iwata details Pikmin 3 MP and challenge mode. Includes new footage.

18:00-21:00: Brand new W101 trailer and other details. Kamiya Answers is released after the livestream.

21:00-23:00: Betrayalnetta details and first gameplay shown. We may get a trailer, but that depends on dev progress.

23:00-33:00: Three Sonic games dated and explained in more detail. Iwata Asks for these are up after the broadcast as well.

33:00-36:00: WWHD reveal trailer, release date/window, and more details.

36:00-39:00: Yoshi Yarn reveal trailer, release date/window (my guess is Q1 2014), and more details

39:00-42:00: Third-party reel

42:00-45:00: Betrayalnetta 2.0; No idea what it'll be.
Vanquish 2, pls

45:00-49:00: X info blowout. Name reveal, launch window (H1 2014 in Japan), plot and gameplay details. Lots of new footage.

49:00-53:00: Mario Kart U reveal trailer and details. Ten Grand Prix with two Gamepad co-op, Missions make a return, Deep MP. Dated for November.

53:00-58:00: 3D Mario U reveal trailer and details. Very freedom-oriented with very few cutscenes and no level select screens. Both open (64, Sunshine) levels and linear (Galaxy, 3DLand) levels. Two player co-op is a big feature. Dated for October.

58:00-63:00: Retro Studios' new IP action game reveal trailer and details. I have no clue what else to expect from this. Possibly dated for the end of this year, but most likely will release the beginning of next year.

Other things I think have a chance to happen: Wii U Sports, Zelda U talked about, 3DS discussed (I think there will be a separate Direct for this), FE X SMT, More detailed talk on some third party titles (again, I think there may be a separate Direct for this), and of course surprise first party titles.

If the silhouette of Mario is really from Galaxy, that's not a good sign, is it? You'd think they'd have some new concept art for the next 3D Mario.

That's really jumping to conclusions. They just don't want to ruin anything is all.

It is a bit of a shame that they blatantly let us know what most of their 'big' titles at E3 are going to be, but the thing is, not only will this be the first time we ever see these franchises in HD, we don't even know what they're going to be like. The actual unveiling of these games is going to be huge, despite the fact that we already know what they're gonna be by name. We know nothing of the new gameplay elements, what they look like, etcetera. I want surprises, but honestly I would be 100% content with trailers and screens of the games we've already seen (ie; Wind Waker HD, Yoshi Yarn, etc) and first looks at these new titles. If we get all that, plus Retro's new title and a complete surprise, this E3 is going to be ridiculous.

Yeah but If I can't experience announcements first hand I'd at least want to see them as they show up while I make my way to class/get ready through you all.

Well, you can always read Cheesemeister's Twitter feed.
If GAF goes down he'll be posting the announcements there.

I know it's a bit of a stretch, but I'm really hoping that Nintendo touch upon the new Wii U Zelda at this showing. I don't expect it, nor will I be disappointed if not a word of it is shown, but the fact that they were willing to discuss it a few months ago gives me hope we might get a bit more elaboration, perhaps even a piece of concept art or something. I don't think that's too out of the ball park considering this is a one-hour presentation and Wind Waker HD is being used to facilitate hype for the next Zelda as it is, but at the same time it's wise not to get our hopes up.

Is there a chance of having different content between the Japanese E3 direct and the NA one? Like Yakuza 1+2 is shown on the Japanese one while Watchdogs or COD in the other direct.

It is a bit of a shame, but can you imagine how painful the last 5 months would have been without that announcement/the January Wii U Direct?

-No confirmation of Smash, Mario Kart, 3D Mario
-No X
-No Yarn Yoshi
-No Wind Waker HD
-And worst of all, no Wii Party U.

Almost certainly, Iwata said the Japanese Direct would focus on titles launching in Japan.

During the E3 period, we will utilize our direct communication tools, such as Nintendo Direct, to deliver information to our Japanese audience, including those who are at this financial briefing, mainly focusing on the software that we are going to launch in Japan, and we will take the same approach outside Japan for the overseas fans as well.

I almost positive it's been confirmed all three will be showing the same content.

So they did say that 3D Mario is going to be shown in this Direct, right?

Yes. That, and it'll be playable on the show floor. Same for Mario Kart.

It's true. I mean, E3 is a once in a life-time event, and if Nintendo were able to provide an event featuring all that plus LttP 2, Earthbound, Mario & Luigi 4, etc, it would have been legendary, but this is clearly the superior marketing module. Every month I have something to look forward to, even if it isn't much, but I haven't really been this adamant to own Nintendo products since I was a little kid. Perhaps their software line-up has become more attractive to me since the Wii, but I really think that they're knocking it out of the park as far as selling their games to die-hard fans with Nintendo Directs. I honestly wouldn't have noticed the release of the Oracles without 'em, and probably wouldn't be interested in owning Earthbound if they didn't mention it.

gaf is definitely going down during this thing

it couldn't even endure the sonic announcement, you think it's going to survive 3d mario, smash bros and retro's game? ahahaha
