Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | June 2013 | Late Ports and Late Threads

3 modes, and 6 maps, and 8 players is disappointing, but they'll be way higher quality than the likes of CoD and Resistance. Plus it has Warzone, which is a blend of objectives.

Maps look really nice, though:

KZ:M look beautiful, but that should not an excuse for the lack of contents in it.

I'm not saying it does excuse it. Like I said, it's disappointing, but at least the quality will be much higher than CoD and Resistance. I was just showing the maps, which look really nice.

Massa made a good point, too, which is that Killzone 3 has about the same amount of content (except 16 players), and nobody complained about that.

1 less map than killzone 3 is a lack of content? sounds fine to me.
I'm young, I don't even remember a single shooter with over 9h of single player content.

this too. 9 (45 min to 1 hour) missions isn't that bad at all, when compared to most shooters these days. i believe they've also said that each mission will have replayability.

Arguing with Toto is a lost cause.

If Perfect Dark were re-released, he'd argue it doesn't have enough single player content because the missions take less than 10 minutes to complete.

Didn't the devs on COD:BO tell us that they limited multiplayer because of party chat limits?

Killzone 3 had 3 modes and 7 maps.

Killzone's main multiplayer mode is quite complex for map design, as it needs to accommodate several game types dynamically, so this is par for the course.

Toto be trolling already though, I see.

I knew you were smart! Thank you for confirming. ;)

It's only disappointing if you expect too much. ;)

Yeah, that was their excuse, but that doesn't mean that there's a system limitation in place for that. I suppose Guerilla Cambridge had the same reason for limiting to eight., but who knows really.

With the exception of Valve, modern first person shooters are all garbage.

I wish there was a Vita port of Doom. An official one by id, not homebrew.

They just released the original Wolfenstein 3D out of nowhere last week on the PS3. Why no Vita love, id??

well that is Bethesda's call, and I don't think they care about handhelds.

Yeah I know. I really hate Bethesda, I think id has only become worse by this acquisition. They were already pretty bad though.

Do we really need Doom and/or Wolfenstein on literally every device? lol

No but the Vita is the first mass-market dual-stick handheld and has yet to have a decent FPS, it's a perfect match. For Doom at least, don't care about Wolfenstein.

mmmm i'd take a more quality isometric ARPG than dungeon hunter...and wheres the one vita RPG?! theres none right? no straight up turn based rpg. sure theres ps1 and psp... and dragon fantasy but i crave a new and native exclusive rpg ;__;

I really hope you are wrong, i want fallout on vita :( i could even deal with an elder scrolls like that cancelled psp game.

Well their last published game on a gaming handheld was Ducati Moto on DS in 2008( last game on phones was a Bowling game on iOS in 2009)..so yeah that Bethesda ship is far and away from the handhelds island.

We have a flood right now in germany and I have to scoop out water with baskets every 15 minutes so that it can't get into my cellar. The Vita is just perfect for short gaming sessions in between.

When catching up after a day or two of not reading, I came across this...

Hope all is well in Germany fellow Vitabro! You are quite correct though, sleep mode is perfect for those times when you gotta put things down RIGHT MEOW

Yes, I especially need the doom psx version (the best port, no contest) to make my life complete. I also want duke 3d, exhumed, quake 2, alien trilogy and disruptor on my vita.

what did I just buy mang

This game is.....something.

9 missions for KZ single player does sound a bit limited. Guess we just have to wait and see how big/long these missions actually are. If it is short, it would be great if the game follows Soul Sacrifice's example and releases a bunch of free new mission and map DLC.

45-60 min per mission

Limbo being cross buy is fantastic, ill actually play it now.

Also I'm so fucking hyped to play war thunder on my vita. That will be so perfect

I would play it if I had it from PS+... but alas, I have some stuff like Zombie Tycoon 2 and Warzone Anomaly instead. :lol

Guess I'll play my steam copy eventually.

At least you have DJMax Technika Tune and get Muramasa: Rebirth soon :(
Don't want to import on my all digital Vita.

Just realised ill own limbo on every platform it exists on :/

Me too and I have a 80% savegame on the 360 for at least two years now. Thinking about finishing it on Vita though thanks to crossbuy and PS+ :)

I'm pretty sure they read the replies from the PSblog and changed their tune. As they should, many of us already paid $15 for the PS3 version, despite already owning it on the PC.

Alright, I'm about 16 hours into P4G and I'm completely hooked!

It looks and feels great on the Vita and I love both the combat system, the exploration and the plot sequences. I've never played a visual novel style game before so the way you advance plot and social links feels fresh and exciting, and the combat itself is both simple and at the same time relatively deep in terms of tactics for a jRPG. Nowhere near Disgaea of course and can't really say how it compares to the likes of FF VII (if from now on the only change is going to be bigger numbers then it's simpler, but the fact that you pretty much have to rely on enemy weaknesses makes it OK in my book).

My only complaint would be that grinding the levels can get a little bit tedious with the amount of similar enemies you have to defeat, but the fights are quick and once you figure the enemies out it doesn't take much time after all.

Well, maybe I'll throw in a second thing that sometimes feels a bit off - the setting is very, very japanese animesque (duh), so the english voices make it sound a little weird at times - and for some of the characters (Chie, I'm looking at you!) the japanese VA have done a better job. Although I must be fair - most of the cast is voiced very well, so it's not a major issue at all - and this is coming from someone who's watched a ton of anime and always preferred subs over dubs.

Any tips from you seasoned Persona veterans? What should I focus on on my first playthrough?

Also, in NG+ do the enemies get harder? And is there a NG++? Is it possible to explore every single thing there is on a single save file?

i believe the only thing that carries on from a previous file in NG+ is your compendium. i also am pretty sure that you can do NG+ as many times as you want (meaning, beat the game the second time and do another NG+).

you will not be able to see everything on your first try, so just enjoy it!

also, go for the true ending.

With the news of Limbo being cross buy, I might buy it when there is a deal. I also really hope TWD S1 is cross buy as well since I already have the PS3 version.

Yeah I know. I really hate Bethesda, I think id has only become worse by this acquisition. They were already pretty bad though.

I really wish Bethesda would have released this on PSP. The chance of this being moved to vita is very slim as well, so it sucks.

Man, you had me worried there for a while, but apparently quite a lot of stuff carries over to NG+:

Previous Play Time.
Amount of Yen you have.
Persona Compendium List.
Amount of persona slots.
Key items from Max Social Link Events.
Status Parameters (Eg. Courage, Knowledge, Etc).
Costumes
Daidara Shopping List
Skill Cards

Whew. Especially at the status parameters, if they didn't then some of the dialogue options in early game would have been obsolete.

wow oops haha. sorry for the misinformation! i started ng+ but haven't touched it since the very beginning.

Wow... Limbo looks AWESOME on PS Vita... perfect plattform for it.

Paint Park Plus... mmm, I'm not that good painting, but it's pretty fine.

Toro's Friend Network
... I didn't understand much, but I only tried it a little bit.
