Hey guys, don't worry. If/when Xbox servers go offline. You will have 24 hours to still play all your videogames before you can never play them ever again and they become unavailable for everyone to play for all eternity. .
Man, I love all this PLANNING I get to do now to play a video game! My live was too simple when I just had to press power, insert disc, and press play! Now I have an ACTIVE lifestyle! Thanks Microsoft!
People want Steam box. But the second MS tries to do the same everyone goes crazy.
I didn't know you can sell Steam games.
To all people not caring...
Even if you're ok with most policies because you don't buy used and whatnot. It's not about you, its about an industry as a whole now. Its about protecting the convenience we currently have as a customer. Its about not letting this shithole happen. It's gonna be like a blackhole if we let this happen, it will suck in everything of what we know and like about console gaming.
Wake the fuck up and don't buy the Xbox One.
It's the one, the one chance we have to save console gaming. Seriously.
Cliffy has become a real douchebag lately... I don't like that guy anymore.
Of course the internet rage about this anti-consumer bullshit from Mircosoft.

Playing devil's advocate, because I hate to see the overreaction:
-I can almost guarantee they will work out rental deals with redbox, blockbuster, gamefly, etc. They would be foolish to leave money on the table.
-Put a piece of tape over the kinect sensor if you don't want MS to see you in your underwear. It's not like they'll be recording you on some server. relax.
-24 hours of offline play: If your internet is down for more than 24 hours get a new provider. My PC is always online and that's where I game the most. You're not taking the xbox out of your house to go camping so what is the problem?
-You can still trade a game to a friend. Once it's theirs, who cares what happens to it next. And there will still be avenues to sell your games. Amazon, gamestop, CeX... they'll all be there.
-Sharing all your games among 10 people = amazing. I can see 10 of my gaming friends and I working out a system of who buys what. That's 9 less games we each have to buy. Makes up for the lack of trade-in.

I have a question on the "share your games with 10 people" bit. Once I choose the 10 accounts as "family members", can I then switch some of 'em out for other accounts?
Are these accounts fixed and unchangeable forever, since your family members probably won't be changing. Or are they only fixed for a certain amount of time?
Please someone tell me how a DRM check-in can exist on a console without an Internet connection? I ask because Sony's already said they are going to leave it up to the publishers to determine their used game policy. We already know what MS is planning. I seriously doubt EA/Ubisoft/etc. are going to have one Xbox policy that requires 24-hour check-in and not require that on the PS4.
So is Sony talking out its ass when it says it will work offline, or are we changing the definition of offline to mean you can go offline after you check-in via the Internet?
Damn. I do agree that publishers will have some mandatory 30-90 day none trade window. Hmmm. Damn.
I'm on board for the Xbox One boycott. I don't care if only ten of us ever end up boycotting, I'm going to be a part of it.

So Microsoft seems to be throwing First-Sale doctrine to the wind. I'm sure someone is going to take them to court over this. I see a Class-Action coming soon.
So imagine this scenario:
I log out at 10pm today. Next day I want to play a single player game at 11pm but my often reliable ISP has a problem and I don't have internet connection at that moment. Can I play or my console becomes a fancy paperweight?
Because I see devs on twitter saying the 24-hour online check is no big deal because nobody doesn't have internet access for 24-hour periods (which is probably true for 99% of people with internet) but for the big majority of people that only play at the night period, it's only a matter of time until your internet connection goes down for a 2-hour period and you can't play that night.
Better than expected.

Your posting history...I can't.
How can any gamer or consumer be happy about this or pretend it's a good thing?
Even one of these policies would be horrible on it's own, yet Microsoft felt the need to hit a grand-fucking-slam.
Already known I'm afraid.OH SHIT HIDDEN INSIDE MAJOR NELSONS TWITTER FEED

Man... of course you would say that. Keep holding that line.
Not talking out of their ass at all. If oh, say, EA builds a phone-home check into their next EA Sports title on PS4 it won't be the PS4 that doesn't work, it'll be EA's game.
It is becoming more and more likely that Sony is going to make it so that publishers can do the same sort of things on PS4 as were announced today for Xbox One, they're just not going to make it platform-wide/mandatory/default. On Xbox One, publishers can allow you to trade-in games if they wish, on PS4 publishers can not allow you to trade-in games if they wish. Sorta opt-in vs. opt-out if that makes any sense. Customer still gets screwed but in one scenario all of the blame can be placed on the publishers who decide to implement/enforce the anti-consumer methods. At least that is the way I see it heading.
by the time this purge is over there isn't going to be anyone in the xbone e3 conference thread
Easiest boycott ever.

Those aren't physical games for one and these games won't be 99 cents.but the line's already been crossed with Steam and (I know, I know...) iOS...
