How about a situation like:

"The Last of Us launches this Friday and is going to be one great experience for PlayStation 3 owners. But now the great team at Naughty Dog want to give you a sneak peak at what you'll be seeing on the PlayStation 4 hardware in the future!"

As for potential games at the show I think it's obvious batman will be at either sony or nintendos conference since they can co promote the handheld version.

Uncharted 4: In Space. Coming 2015.

Actually, I've been kicking around the idea over the past day or two of Sony and ND taking the cast and core themes of Uncharted and "recasting" them into another genre. Can you imagine a 1950s-style Flash Gordon-esque space opera with Nathan Drake as the square-jawed but well-meaning hero and Elena as his action girl sidekick?

Eh, I am a beginner at this. Once I get to Sunhi or Demonite's level, then I'd be getting somewhere. That said, thank you.

Off topic: Talking about Demonite (and the cheft) they really ought to get tags by now for their numerous and consistent results.

Seems like it's going to be difficult to get anything major out of Sony's powerhouse studios (ND, SSM, Guerrilla) this year - you'll have to look to some of their second parties and less-known studios for top-secret megatons.

I'm still counting on Santa Monica's new IP being present in trailer form. They're going to want to go into 2014 and give us something to look forward to beyond the launch window.
 
remember the no hurdles, just games tee Sony gave Developers.

Time to go to bed. Tomorrow i'll be getting to work just as Microsoft is starting their conference, and i'm back home three hours before the main event.

Hopefully it's a slow news day at work so i can keep up with GAF during the day.

Crossing my fingers that nothing leaks and that NeoGAF has IGN like servers for a day, so that it doesn't go down during the shows.

As long as it's not a shooter, I'll join you in hoping it'll be there. If it is a shooter, I'll probably just close my eyes and imagine Kingdom Hearts 3 or Suikoden VI is being announced instead. Then everyone wins! :)

Made plans at work to be off so I could watch as much of E3 press conferences I could, now I'm going to Austin tomorrow morning to take my little brother to the doctor (miss MS' sorry excuse for a presser) and now my girlfriend guilt tripped me into a date tomorrow night. Looks like I'm going dark sooner than I thought :(

I'd buy it. An announcement like that would be one of those "I was NOT expecting this at all" moments from everyone watching, but no one would be against it because it would probably be awesome all around.
 
So I'm thinking on what 3rd party studios will be at Sony.

Ubi will be there for AC4 and Watch Dogs. Wouldn't be shocked to see both get demo time like how FC3 and AC3 got demos last year.

Square will be there with a new Final Fantasy.

Bungie will be there for Destiny but sounds like it might just be a gameplay trailer (I hope they don't close the conference with this).

Other than those 3 I don't know who else.

I'm so hyped for tomorrow, come on Sony, I plan on getting a PS4 since Microsoft gave me the middle finger as a gamer, but show me why I have to really pick one up at launch!

Can't wait to see the box too, but it won't please everyone I'm sure (I don't care what the design of a machine is personally).

And Kaz better make a quick cameo otherwise I'll be disappointed.

If they were going to do anything like that, I'd rather they just make a game for The Shadow.
 
I'm off to the hospital for 8 hours, will get a cold 6-pack of beers and some E3-snacks from the store on the way home.

Keep the leaks from happening, Sony. I want to be blown away!
 
I'm going on record: Naughty Dog is not doing Uncharted 4.

Another new IP.

New console, new IP. This has served them incredibly well in the past. They were kind of forced to walk away from Crash, but it worked. Then they chose to walk away from Jak. And again it worked. They considered going back to Jak, but scrapped it for TLoU, and it worked.

Uncharted is (this is my one next gen guess) on the shelf for the time being.

New IP.

And (this I'm less confident about) we won't see it at E3. It'll be the VGA's.

like i said up a bit, Warner with batman maybe since their is also a handheld game. They could show both. Equally likely to be at Nintendo though.

Capcom with whatever deep down is? Maybe a new fighter? RE?

I don't think we've seen the last of Drake. Uncharted is Sony's best-performing IP this gen next to Gran Turismo - it even eclipsed God of War, if memory serves. Because of this, I think they're definitely working on another Uncharted game in some form, and the existence of any new Naughty Dog IP is going to depend entirely on how well TLOU sells.

If The Last of Us is a runaway hit, we'll probably see another sequel in that universe before ND works on a new IP. If TLoU doesn't light up the charts, that team will get to work on ND's new IP.

Given the Dead Rising 3 exclusive and exclusive DLC for XBone, I would be very, very surprised if Capcom shows up at Sony's conference. Seems they've picked a side.
 
I am going to be at work during Sony. I hope that they can pull it off an upset. All the good will in the world will do little to offset the kind of money Microsoft has in it's gaming war chest. It really can't get any worse for Microsoft. All they have to do is show up, say nothing embarrassing and we'll be talking about what a great show they had.

Better man than I am. I would have told her I can't miss the ps4 reveal followed by guilt tripping her into taking my lil bro to the doctors, this way you won't miss ms sorry ass excuse for a presser.

Pubs can choose more than one for instance Acti with COD and Destiny. They must be loving it getting moneyhatted both ways; twice the moneyhats or even three times if Nintendo steps in.

Yeah it's like I said with Dragon's Dogma (I think Deep Down is Dragon's Dogma 2) Xbox got all the DLC first so it could happen again.

I think I would laugh if Xbox got Lost Planet 3 DLC first because that's funny.

The problem is that we've heard from Cboat that there's "another Capcom game" getting exclusive DLC on the Xbone, in addition to DR3 being exclusive to that system.

Deep Down is the only other Capcom game we know of in production for next-gen systems. If it's getting exclusive Xbone DLC, they're not going to bother to show it at Sony's presser, and I really doubt Capcom has a THIRD next-gen game they've been hiding under their cloak the entire time. It would definitely be nice if Capcom throws Sony a bone though.

Also this. Capcom loves to betrayalton Sony for some reason. Monster Hunter, DMC, exclusive 360 launch games, etc. I just can't see them siding with Sony when their entire MO so far has been to work against them.
 
If I was Sony, and if I wasn't doing aggressive DRM, I'd leak it in the morning... few hours before MS conference, just long enough to make waves and get everyone talking about me, and possibly pre-color perceptions (even more) of MS' message.

If I was Sony, and I was doing DRM, but a milder flavor of it... I'd get it out of the way early in the conference. I think you'd have to put it out there during the conference. I'd have to talk about it. Remaining completely silent would only stir the pot/fester in the hours/days after the conference. You'd erode goodwill, and still have bad news to break. Might as well get it out there between face melting sizzle reels, if you're gonna do it.

Hopefully, they pick options one, or some variation of it...
