Do you guys know if you can play this game in third person view?
Yes pretty sure this is possible

I hope they hit solid 60 at 1080P; would be pretty good for launch.
Devs this gen should go for the 720p@60fps menu option if that's what it gets to run their games at a higher framerate.

If DC hits a solid 60fps then it will probably sell me a PS3.
It's that simple.
Is that straightforward for them to do? I know that kind of thing is commonplace on PC, but I'm not sure how easy it would be on a console.Devs this gen should go for the 720p@60fps menu option if that's what it gets to run their games at a higher framerate.

No thanks. 720p is horrendous.Devs this gen should go for the 720p@60fps menu option if that's what it gets to run their games at a higher framerate.
Nothing is confirmed, they just said they are aiming for it. Cant imagine thats new-thread worthy.Sounds like it was a majority vote for 60 within the team.
New thread? Some Gaffers have convinced everyone DC is 30FPS, lol...
Good news if they hit it, though. Also, why does there seem to be some flat option between 30 or 60 for consoles? Is there any reason that you couldn't have 45-50fps?

Gotcha. Thanks for the explanation. It's possible, but it doesn't look nice. Things look best when the framerate is some multiple of the TV's refresh rate, and almost all TVs run at 60Hz thesedays. With 60FPS you're essentially showing one new frame every time the TV screen refreshes, and with 30 it's one frame for every two, but with other numbers it ends up uneven and you get a bit of stutter.

Well, lets hope you don't have your way then

I'd go for the pretty/1080p option anyway. Sorry. I suck at non-arcade racers.![]()

I think Perkins is just a marketing guy.
Cosigned.
60fps is a must, leave graphics effects for EA racers.
Great development, wheel support and 60fps and we have a perfect launch racer.
We've gone to the same level of detail as we have with all of the materials, and everything's layered up sensibly so you can scratch and dent and crush. The carbon fibre fractures and cracks, and the metal will buckle and peel, and reveal the layers of paint, and finally, the metal.
He should be fired.Alex Perkins: Increased visual fidelity does cost, there's no argument about it. We are aiming for 60. If I had my way, I'd rather have more stuff going on at a prettier level and lower framerate.
That confirms PS4 got an overclock.
I don't mind that at all. Not every racer needs real-world tracks.Damage information:
Also, the game doesn't feature real-world tracks, but rather fantasy ones set in real-world locations.

WTF? Was that IT..?
they said there will be gameplay sessions after the conference for the 4 februar games i think. And wow, Driveclub(lite?) as the first PS+ present for new Subscribers/Buyers of the PS4 is sweet candy
It's free with PS+. It did say "Drive Club PS+ Edition", so I don't know whether that means it's gimped or not... but I would hate to think so. Maybe they say that just to assert that it's not a physical copy you're getting. A lot of PS+ games I've downloaded say "Download version" next to them or something. It's free with the console? Jeepers.
I was thinking more along the line of GT Prologue. It's free with PS+. It did say "Drive Club PS+ Edition", so I don't know whether that means it's gimped or not... but I would hate to think so. If current PS+ is anything to go by and they give us a PS+ edition, we won't be able to buy the full game. It's free with PS+. PS. Now we wait:

I'm getting a PS4 over an X1, and I'm going to miss Forza 5. DriveClub better not suck, that's all I'm saying.
Gran Turismo isn't my thing tbh.I am on the same boat as you, I expect a GT6 PS4 on 2014 or some kind of prologue thing.
I'm getting both consoles at launch just cause Forza 5 looks freaking amazing and I just couldn't do without but i'm also hopeful that Driveclub is good too.I'm getting a PS4 over an X1, and I'm going to miss Forza 5. DriveClub better not suck, that's all I'm saying.

DriveClub is about 35% here, the frame rate may well end up at 60, btw.
All i see is the devs talking about the game and the E3 trailer running in the background.
EDIT: apparently they're going to race in a minute
EDIT2: NOPE! ffs
Is the game even playable yet?
