Again, there's no lack of reaction. The human sized enemies get knocked around by Noctis' attacks (they do, that's undeniable) and I don't think it's somehow horrible when a massive enemy like the Behemoth doesn't react to every hit that these tiny humans inflict on it (it does to some, especially ones done with the bigger swords/weapons).

I agree with you that the soldiers move, as I had stated originally. I just only notice them being slid forward, not necessarily a reaction to getting stabbed with a blade. Again, still time. I don't think it's necessary to start getting upset at people's observations just yet.

I'm starting to feel positive that these are troll posts. If this looks like a half assed hack 'n slash, what does a good one look like? Because this pretty much wipes the floor with any and every action RPG's combat ever released from what we've seen, at least if the controls are responsive (don't see why they wouldn't be, SQEX are action RPG experts by now) and the game offers at least a hint of challenge so it doesn't become too much of a simple buttonsmasher but requires some thought and careful approach to battles & not letting your guard down too much during battles.

Eh...we'll see if it tops Tales of Graces.

THIS IS NEXT GEN. WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

IT LOOKS LIKE A PLAYABLE ADVENT CHILDREN

mirrors edge, the division, and ff15 have had the best gameplay graphics imo.

I don't know if you guys noticed this but the "The Xbox logo is trademark by Microsoft" is missing in both trailers even if the Xbox One logo is there:

Last minute moneyhat? Lol

I don't want Final Fantasy: Boy Band Edition.

It looks great yes, but if it's an success the chances of ever seeing a real turn based Final Fantasy again will get even poorer.

If it would still be a spinoff i would be much more positive, but as a main title........

Nope. Keep that shit off XV. There's only so many renditions of ATB you can do. Time to let the in-game combat spread its wings...

Applies to combat as well. To switch paradigmen you just used LI + up and down. Rest was mash X-autoplay.
Shocker, you simply choose commands from a menu in a command menu based battlesystem. It's not like that's, you know, EVERY turnbased/ATB(-ish) JRPG ever.

They probably added it in at the very last second just like last time. If that's true, it means Sony is really, really bad at this stuff.

I like how TETSUYA NOMURA is all in caps and that other guy doesn't deserve the same treatment.

When I actually choose my attacks I use left and right from my list of available skills and spells. FF13 is the first one where I could detach my left and right buttons.
Hell, I played FF13-2 partly with an aracde stick since it had turbo-x.

Anyone knows who the Japanese VAs are for this ? They sound so familiar but I can't put my finger on it. For instance the umbrella guy sounds like Sanji's VA a little.

I'll believe it when I see it.

hopefully their roles are well thought out.I don't want Merigolds in my XV lol

Nah, there are definitely different reactions. Some fall down to the side when Noctis swings the sword from left to right, others get knocked back, some just falter a little. This gif shows it pretty well:

The enemies do clearly react to Noctis' attacks and in different ways depending on what kind of attack he does on them or which weapon he's using (look at the part where he switches to the big sword and when he hits an enemy a couple of times). It may just be hard to see with how fast-paced it is.

Not sure if I'd compare it to XV-type action RPGs, it's much more limited with how the battles take place on separate battle screens and you can only have so much freedom in those tiny little battle arenas in comparison to this kind of more free-form action RPG (though, not saying there aren't some crazy combos possible in many Tales games). And maybe it's just me, but I don't really consider games like Star Ocean or Tales action RPGs for some reason, or at least not in the same way as games like Kingdom Hearts & FFXV are.

Hell yeah the combat looked sweeeeet. One of my biggest issues with most RPGs is the combat (too slow and boring for me personally). But this looks absolute ace

I don't mind if we don't get any female party members once they have them being party of the story .
So i look forward to seeing Stella role or other female characters even if we don't play them .

Not feeling the artstyle, setting or character designs. Looks good technically though. Still sceptical about the gameplay but this is pretty much my impression of the FF series since FFX.

Umbrella dude is Keiji Fujiawara. He played Hughes in FMA and Zenzo in Gintama. Noctis is Tatsuhisa Suzuki (I don't really recognize him from anything).

Prompto's VA seems familiar...he has a pretty distinctive whiny voice lol.

Edit: Prompto is Tetsuya Kakihara, who voice Simon in Gurren Lagann.

interesting discovery

also, the information was missing from press release too. oddly enough, it has windows on it, which wasn't even mentioned in the document.

I kind of don't get how the gameplay is working.... I'm sure there'll be more details soon. God I hope it's not a QTE fest. That shit is dull. Looks like a lot of NPC teamwork which sucks IMO.

Wouldn't read too much into it.

Even the press release doesn't have that Xbox thing:
