There weren't any QTEs in that footage lol
All the PC and "any DirectX 11 platform" bits are really playing with my feelings.interesting discovery
also, the information was missing from press release too. oddly enough, it has windows on it, which wasn't even mentioned in the document.

really...haven't you had enough female chars for an entire generation ?? Plus stella and the other girl could be amazing impactful females. You never know. Its not like people love lightning , serah , vanille and fang this gen.

Now that you mention it, that is part of what makes this game refreshing after having three major releases in a row focusing on the girls.
Wait, does that mean that it was planned for PS4/PC originally and then Xbox One later?
This isn't Final Fantasy, its StarOcean lite, brought closer to reality in order to appeal to a broader base. Square is trying to tap into the kids that are now college students with disposable income. Children whose first RPG experiences were FF10, Kingdom Hearts, and Star Ocean 3. Pulling further away from anything that would delay the player from instant and constant gratification. Sure this game looks graphically very nice, but its all smoke and mirrors. The one off animations are happening directly after cuts, because everything is staged. How is this game any different from FF13? I see corridors, one off big cinematics, generic characters, and a fighting system that is about mashing buttons to win. This isn't a return to what final fantasy was, it is a step further away. Which to me personally is not what I had hoped FF15 would be.
Exactly.SE is the last company you could accuse of making dudebro games.I bet even versus will have a lot of attention focused on stella. She seems like a key character in every trailer.

The story is apparently going to be something like Romeo and Juliet (as cheesy as this may seem) with forbidden love and all that jazz. So yes, there will be a lot of focus on Stella.

Speaking of "see it" . . . the new Stella looks so uninteresting. I bet they'll turn her into a "good girl" like Kairi or Namine and make her disappear now.I'll believe it when I see it.

Actually it was more in the line of it being like Hamlet. Or maybe both. Who knows. Nomura said all that stuff years ago.
In my case my gaming PC is connected to an HDTV and I use a wireless controller on the couch with most games. Been playing Last Remnant like that and it's great (I heard there were many technical issues with the 360 version too, so that's also a plus).I think it'll probably run better on PS4 than my PC so I'll get it on that. Plus playing JRPGs on PC feels weird.
That's fine and all, but you can still have more female characters with a focus on the main cast!

I'd rather not have them shoehorn more characters into an already busy cast. That's fine and all, but you can still have more female characters with a focus on the main cast!
More like it was planned for PS4 then Xbox One was a real last minute inclusion, they forgot to put the Microsoft logo blah blah in the PR and trailer.
I don't get all this female attention whoring either.
Noctis + Stellar are the prime story center characters. That's a 50% split.
Actually, it would be refreshing if the story focuses ONCE on a male person. Almost every FF game resolves around a female character.

She looked like a strong female character before, now she just looks like a dough-eyed deer.

was this actually a demo at E3 with someone playing it?
I still remember the FF13 battle system trailer that was a complete lie.
So how does this play? I see menus and commands. . .
I think it was supposed to be more akin to Hamlet. I really hope it has a darker plot and some tragedy in it. mmmmmm
I barely see the difference there. Maybe her eyebrow arcs are a tad softer, but that's also an in-game model in the middle of a conversation displaying some emotion.I totally agree with this.
This looked like a mature and strong woman.

This looks like a one of your typical anime airhead girls

And hell that's from the 2011 vid, she looks a lot worse now.

Warping is one of the menu based commands based on the UI. The swords and combats seems like FF13's ATB also going on the UI. What confusing me is the characters movement and the Party AIEver played Kingdom Hearts? It's supposed to play like that, with menu-based action combat. Not sure how the teleportation or weapon switching works, though.
I was wondering when the backlash was going to start.
Not everyone who prefers action RPGs is "a kid who wants instant and constant gratification". Seriously, the FF series has been circling the drain for the better part of a decade now, the last thing we need is bitter "veterans" bitching about an entry that actually looks fresh and new.
This is almost like that Onion article from Star Trek. "Trekkies Bash New Star Trek Film As 'Fun, Watchable'".
