No, I don't disagree with any of that. I'm only saying that as far as we can tell, the Villager's proper name wasn't leaked. Whether the original source got it right or not is irrelevant because it was wrong in the leak that we got. It's obvious that his information was correct; I was just nitpicking that one detail.

You never know. The new underwater driving in Mario Kart 7/8 seems like the perfect thing to incorporate into a stage. A Starfy stage would also work well if the Smash team wants to acknowledge the franchise in a meaningful way.

To be fair the imported model in SSB4 looks like the 'main' version of Skyloft you see when you're actually there. The much lower-poly and feature-less version you see when you're flying around is what Project M uses, unless I'm remembering wrong.

EDIT: Or hell maybe they are the exact same model. Somebody needs a clearer screenshot of both than just a zoomed out compressed shot from both to tell.

I remember watching the trailer and just thinking of Project M when the Skyloft stage appeared. It seems like the Smash 4 version will actually land on Skyloft itself, though.

With what we've seen this far I think the roster is going to shatter people's expectations in a good way. Sakurai seems to be playing give them the characters they never knew they wanted.
Megaman not counting.

True only time will tell for the rest. And Sakurai also seemed to want the newcomers split into their own separate trailer so he could have decided who he wanted to reveal then and there. Man, it feels good to know we are probably going to get little trailers for each newcomer. I think we agreed that would be a great way to reveal them awhile back.

I'm liking her style more and more :l what wrong with me? I like how some of her smashes are like rigid stances. I can't put my finger on the style. At the same time she's also agile.
 
Do we know when information is next coming? Sakurai came up to Iwata himself, so he must have ideas. He's not the guy to go the easy route on a sequel. The fact that we haven't seen anything more unpredictable than character inclusions suggests to me that there's a lot we've yet to hear.

We have no idea how early those characters were cut. The only data that could be found was Mewtwo's Final Smash sound. Smash N64 had Final Smash sounds as well as the announcer saying "Build a Stage!". Melee had Ditto's model.

I'm totally down for more picks like WFT though.
 
I'll live, but Waluigi is a pretty lazily designed character whose existence revolves soley around Mario spin-offs. I'd vastly prefer a Wario Ware character or Syrup for a 2nd Wario rep and even though Waluigi probably counts more as a Mario character thats dumb in-itself. Wario's brother/partner-in-crime literally never shows up in a Wario game!

Most of the possible Mario reps left are boring really. Not anger-inspiring since they'll all be fun to play as (probably), but there's a reason why I went for someone stupid and obviously not happening like Geno in my Smash roster in the prediction thread. He or Fawful or a Paper Mario rep (who isn't literally 'Paper' Mario, that'd be a pointless addition on the level of Dr. Mario IMO) have far more character and moveset potential than a ton of different Mario/Peach/Wario/Bowser recolors do, though sadly only a fraction of the popularity.

I guess I can see where everyone is getting at though. With Mario there definitely is a lot of reps that can be used and probably deserve a slot.

Daisy only if she's based around the strikers design. Since that's easily the best daisy we've gotten.

His reveal should start out with luigi celebrating his year of luigi with mario and friends, then waluigi comes in and crashes the party saying, "year of luigi?! (then its year of(?))WALUIGI!"

it makes me wonder what was in development first, the Smash 4 stage and Project M just happened to have this stage as well? Or the devs seeing it and making their own for Smash 4 as a result

Now lets talk about some characters changes that are needed(want)

Falco's blaster needs the flinching gone. It's too easily spamable/good.
 
Pick Daisy over Waluigi? Has she... done anything? Waluigi was at least amusing in the Camelot Mario sports games intros, which gives him like 1/100th of a point, but why Daisy?

Luigi deserves his special lady too...or they can give peach an actual model change like in melee for daisy.
