Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS: Info Collection - Dojo, Mega Man and Trailer! 2014!

I just hope the online doesn't suck this time.

With Namco helping out, then it'll be great for sure!

I still wonder why the online wasn't like Mario Kart Wii, it was so damn perfect. Then having that type of netcode for Brawl would have a waay greater experience.

That'll be the day.. When I get to destroy every one of you online! >:D

So random thoughts:

1.) Think the stickers will appear in some way or form? Maybe not used to power your character in single player, but maybe another form as a collectible?

2.) Trophy collecting. Think they'll make it the lottery like Melee or do some kind of mini-game like Brawl?

They should get that really well designed and gorgeous level from Other M to use as samus' stage.

Oh wait, that doesn't exist.

Ridley's stage... though to be fair it'd be Final Destination in some lava.

That's what they used for DoA Dimensions.

Alternatively, Nightmare's stage. It'd be tall, though. Or the area you fight Phantoon in.

Fighting games and racing games are different types of games. As far as I've heard, MKW depended on a lot of player prediction and resyncing to mask a lot of the lag and that wouldn't work with a game like Smash.

Goddamnit, this thread makes me want to continue playing KI:U to find out what the deal is with this Hades dude.

I beat it in under a week. It was too awesome game but I wish that they have more chapters.

Kid Icarus is gold. Needs a Wii U version, though - the control scheme would adapt so nicely to Wiimote + Nunchuk.

You should. All the talk made me go back today from Chapter 21 and complete the rest of the game. He has the potential for either a playable character or a single player boss.

I've said it before, but I'll say it again: if we don't get Hades in the game, I want the Kid Icarus stage to have Hades and Viridi just talking trash about all of the fighters.

I agree, but I like Melee's stages. I'm one of the minority who thought Great Bay was great (with the turtle), and Big Blue is fun, and Onett shakes things up.

Brawl seemed like it only had either a "lifeless" stage with platforms or one with a game breaking and/or tiresome stage mechanic.

Bring back the creative but non-intrusive Melee stages. I don't want 20 re-skins of Battlefield.

I loved Big Blue and Poke Floats and Onett. I don't mind stages with clear layouts with one hazard. I.E. Cars on Onett. Or moving from one platform/car to the next in Poke Floats and Big Blue. Those are fine and I love those.

I hate stages where they throw everything but the kitchen sink in AND expect you to fight. Spear Pillar is the best example. Slow time, upside down, reversed controls, lasers, c'mon give me a break. Just too much going on in addition to the actual fighting. Less is more.

The 3D Land stage looks great, also. The spikes destroying the platforms is just minimalistic enough to be a stage hazard you have to pay attention to, but not enough to drive you crazy.

Why don't people spoiler
Hades
when talking about KI:U? Its not exactly obvious from the start that
Medusa isn't the real villain of the game
.

I haven't played it yet, but at this point discussion of the game is so prevalent in non-KI threads that I don't personally mind having it spoiled. It actually makes me more interested in the game, quite frankly, since everyone loves the character so much.

We did, for the first year at least. It's really not that big of a twist in the big picture though, and his name without context isn't a spoiler in and of itself.

I've hyped him up so much in my mind already that I'll honestly be rather disappointed if he doesn't make it in.

I want Magnus.

Edit: I want all Kid Icarus Uprising characters.

Playing it with a wiimote + nunchuk would be terrible, honestly.

Imagine how horrible it would be to turn around and shoot, or to shoot, dodge, turn around towards the guy who just shot at you, fire again, dodge the other guy you just knocked down who's attempting an attack on you, do a quick quarter turn to the left and dash attack, followed by a 180 degree turn and a backwards charged shot to finish the first guy off.

This is something that is probably close to physically impossible with a wiimote and nunchuk. (Or at least, several magnitudes harder than the current 3DS setup.) Then again, Wiimote + Nunchuk is probably the second best option we could think of.

Ugh, you guys thought the fanart in this thread was bad. Two pages and that Sonic Boom topic was goddamned wrong.
Sonic the Hedgehog AND My Little Pony in one thread? Yeah that'll bring out the trolls.

I wonder how long until we get a general sticky thread on cutting it out with the creepy fanart? Well, except for the thread dedicated to it.

I'm starting to wonder about that 3D Land stage. The platforms seem to be moving on the pillars as the stage progresses, which is interesting... but then there's the one stage with the castle in the background which could be either NSMB or 3D Land which makes me think the 3D Land stage could be a large scrolling one, where you encounter all the level tropes throughout.

I'm glad that topic was locked, albeit for the completely wrong reasons (IE: not because of the creepy fanart, but because the source of the OP was TSSZ, AKA the Daily Mail of the Sonic community)

Is it just me or is that SM3DL stage a bit bland? I mean, I know the backgrounds on the 3DS stages aren't going to be super busy, but I was kinda hoping for a bit more for the 3D Land stage than what I'm seeing. Maybe I just need to see all of it since it's a moving stage.

They need to start to giving out temp ban for people who posted softcore pictures like those in Sonic Boom.

The opinions, views and pictures expressed by Gonzo the Great, Slamtastic and Valjean Lafitte are the opinions of them and them only, and do not reflect the opinions or views of any of SonicGAF or the opinions or views of any other individual on NeoGAF.

So mental scars to my childhood aside.....

I think considering it looks like a moving platform stage similar to the Super Mario Sunshine one, I think we haven't seen the entirety of it. Though I can see just based on that small footage, it would look like that was the stage itself.

Did they confirm if both versions will have the same number of stages? I have a feeling the Wii Fit stage may be console exclusive and maybe the Smash Dojo one assuming it is a Punch-Out stage.

After that commotion before your list has like 4 stages on it! I thought you would have practically mentioned all of them hahahaha.

I prefer Satorl Marsh if only because it's gorgeous.

Most of my favorite stages were in Brawl. I didn't realized how much of them were in there.

I hope this starts going the Mario Kart DS/Wii/7 way and include stages from every iteration of Smash... but hearing about the exclusive stages, I doubt it.

Maybe they'll split them up and each version will their their own set of retro stages. Though I'm sure more will appear on the Wii U version considering that's focused on console franchise stages.
