Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS: Info Collection - Dojo, Mega Man and Trailer! 2014!

Are most of us in agreement that Chrom and Palutena are the most likely newcomers? I can't think of any shoo-ins beyond those two.

Magus
Perfect list IMO.

Magnus would be Ike.

Even if he's not playable, Hades needs to be in here in some capacity. With new voiced lines.
Why not just have Ike, then? Or Chrom? The Kid Icarus series has characters that are actually interesting that can be included.

We have Megaman and Wii Fit Trainer. All bets are off on my end.

As likely as we feel Chrom and Palutena are, they are no shoo-ins. That's a category I would save for Wario and Diddy Kong pre-Brawl and the like. Those are shoo-ins.

Palutena, Chrom? Likely, sure, but no way are they shoo-ins.

Palutena is my No. 1 Most Wanted "Realistic" Newcomer. I just don't hesitate to also show love and support for Hades. :)

You know, I didn't think about realistic newcomer hype levels before this post. Palutena is easily the one I'm most excited for too. I just hope that Sakurai treats Smash as a psuedo-continuation or actors behind the scenes/laugh track to Uprising, complete with characters that might go full Sakurai at a moments notice, hence my desire to see Medusa in and full of bile against the rest of the KI picks because "they got better lines than me!"

I feel like Palutena is a little less likely than Chrom. I can at least think of a few reasons Sakurai might not want to include her. Chrom is basically guaranteed, though.

Palutena is incredibly likely. Look at her credentials:

- Lead supporting character in Sakurai's last game
- Shared interior art in special box for KIU
- Starred in three special anime promos
- A green-haired goddess with a staff -- UNIQUE!
- Friggin' awesome in every way

Chrom is virtually guaranteed. One of the stages in the 3DS game is Feroxi Coliseum from Awakening.

Viridi was my favourite character in Uprising, but we never see her doing anything battle-wise. I'd compromise and get Phosphora. Palutena is okay. Amazon Pandora would be a great left-field choice but I doubt her.

Basically what I'm saying is WE NEED MORE GIRLS.

Viridi would be far more likely than Phosphora, and Palutena is far more likely than both. Exhibiting battle prowess is hardly a prerequisite in a game that features Wii Fit Trainer on the roster. Palutena would have no shortage of material to reference.

I seriously doubt that Hades will be a playable character guys. I mean, it's the same argument with Ridley, and that he's too damn big. If anything he'll be a boss in adventure mode. In fact, he should just stay as the main villain of the entire thing if there is one.

Screw Tabuu and the Subspace Army, bring on the revenge of Hades and the underworld!

Hades is a god. Like Palutena, he can assume any size at will. Also, he has a humanoid silhouette -- no massive wings or tail to accommodate. He's just as straightforward as any other human-shaped character.

I'm just saying any of those options would be better than fucking Magnus. Sausage-fest much?

While I really want to smash attack people with the Magnus Club, I would definitely and wholeheartedly prioritize the gods and goddesses ahead of him.

Palutena, Medusa and Hades. If I had to pick three, it'd be them. It was tough picking Medusa over Viridi, but Medusa has the legacy factor and would make for an interesting female villain. All of the villains in the Smash roster have been dudes.

One day I will buy KI:U.

And on that day, I'll hope to understand the popularity of Palutena and Hades.

But until then #Team Medusa

Are most of us in agreement that Chrom and Palutena are the most likely newcomers? I can't think of any shoo-ins beyond those two.

Not shoo-ins but they do have the best odds from their series.

Personally, I do think Little Mac has better odds than both.

I felt this way since Brawl, not necessarily just because we needed more cool female reps, but because most of them have the potential for funky playstyles.

I'll back Daisy, Rosalina, Dixie, Lucina, Tharja, Katchi, Jill, Captain Syrup, Ashley, Palutena and Medusa without second thoughts.

Edit: Yeah, the big three after Pit are Palutena, Medusa and Hades in that order. In a perfect world, Uprising makes a case for the higher ups in the dev team to make all 3 playable and Kid Icarus becomes a "big boy" group in Smash.

AM I RIGHT GUYS

Marshall, read THIS ARTICLE. The person who posted on GAF wrote that article; he was sharing what he had been tipped off to but couldn't confirm until after E3. When half of it came true at E3, he went ahead and shared the rest of the tip.
thanks for that!

Little Mac and Pac Man were pretty likely characters to begin with but I just cant see how Miis will fit in though, that parts seems really unlikely

Really, the only thing that I'm really disliking is the potential inclusion of the Mii. No one on the planet likes those things outside of Nintendo. A true waste of a character slot if true.

The green hair...

Palutena not being in could make me as sad as Megaman being in made me happy. I LOVE Megaman's sound effects. So beautifully retro.

Hades was lame.
Only after Pit got done with him.

Palutena will be the first KIU newcomer announced.

KIU was my GOTY 2012, as well.
Best game on the 3DS so far.

I've said it a million times, but I'll say it again: Haken Browning from Endless Frontier should totally be in Smash. He has a wonderfully diverse moveset, his game was developed by Monolith Soft and Namco Bandai who are now 2nd party and working on Smash respectively, and he's been getting some exposure recently with his appearance as a Namco rep in Project X Zone.

Plus he looks awesome and has a great personality. Those traits always make for great Smash characters~

No way hey're adding him, but his inclusion would certainly be something of a crossover singularity, considering whom he's already rubbed shoulders with in his games.

And only. =-O

Yeah, I don't think anybody likes the Mii, but I'm for its inclusion on the basis that Smash Bros. should be a celebration of Nintendo's history. Wiis have defined the company for the past six-plus years, so I'd be fine with it.

Okay, I was excited after the trailer, but I'm ecstatic after seeing that Nintendo Developer Direct video.

Game is shaping up to be something amazing, and I'll buy a Wii U for it no questions asked.

Right now I'm leaning towards learning Villager. Only because he looks like he'll be able to frustrate and grief the shit out of other people.

Megaman looks really awesome though too. I didn't know what to think about Trainer, but I'm starting to appreciate how fucking weird of a choice that is. Good stuff!

Come on people, if there's one thing we should all agree on is that the Eggplant Wizard needs (needs) to be an Assist Trophy. It's too fucking perfect.

I would actually love this.

Since Hades is currently missing a body, just have him be the main villan of whatever adventure mode we have. Make the entire story about his resurrection and his (re)defeat.

Imagine for a second, you see master hand come in from one side.

Then you see Crazy hand from the other. You get ready to fight, then something fades in from the background. What is it? It's Hades, in all of his glory... And he's wearing both hands!

"Why hello, Pitty-Pat... Miss me?"

Commence the battle.

My vote is on Tempura Wizard.

The main villain of any potential story mode should not be one specific to any one series, especially a character as new as Hades. That's just playing favorites for the sake of playing favorites.

EDIT: Fuck the Tempura Wizard.

I agree but as of now I feel we could get maybe 3 new female characters. WFT, Palutena, and who ever else. I hope I'm wrong though.
