Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS: Info Collection - Dojo, Mega Man and Trailer! 2014!

The problem is that one of the arguments for clones, the first ones in melee, was that because they wanted to fill the roster they added them and they were only clones because they didn't have time to make them unique. With Brawl, I don't know what happened but there were clones again, but the Wii wasn't all that great with DLC and the like. This time, as has been proven, the Wii U could handle DLC and the 3DS could handle it as well. So it's not really changing the topic as it's a valid point towards the creation of clones in the first place.

Smash's team likely will disband after the game's release though. Namco Bandai won't keep working for Nintendo. That might be one of the reasons that we could end up without much DLC support.

So I just noticed something in the Developer Direct. People probably already noticed it, but I don't remember reading about it.

His bow is split in two in the beginning, but is then connected after the attack.

Just goes to show how terribly early in development the game is.

I highly doubt it was intentional.

The question about how to buff Mario got me thinking about an interesting rework they could do to the little plumber - what about an entirely power up based character? He starts as regular Mario. Performing some move charges his coin meter. When his meter is half full, Burn half a meter to change into Super Mario, who would obviously be the same except for stronger attacks. Burn a full meter to select among 3 choices - Fire Mario, Cape Mario (I'd like Raccoon, but the Cape has more history in Smash), or Random Chance (which would open up a whole host of Mario's - Frog, Shoe, Bee, Cat, Mini, etc.). Maybe add in a meter burn for star Mario in there, as well.

This is nice. I likey.

Why not just have him pick between moves that are based on his abilities to keep it simpler though? (Limiting it to Fire Mario (B), Cape Mario(>B), Super Mario(^B), and F.L.U.D.D. Mario?(VB))

It's the same way in brawl. Side smash and other attacks split them. B, side b and others bring them back together, sometimes facing different directions.

Buffing Mario is easy since he's already pretty good.

- Remove the sweetspot from his f-smash and make it similar to Dr. Mario's. Increase the damage slightly.
- Increase the knockback on FLUDD
- Increase the damage of his up-smash.

Mario was always good, it's just that the rest of the cast is better.
Haha, I've never seen such passion from Beef.
It usually takes a lot to get that much from me. :P
BTW, Lucas' PK Love, specifically Up-Smash, is the best thing ever. <3 I hope he never goes away.

The only thing I would change about Lucas is his Rope Snake and how it attaches to ledges, since I hate how that mechanic was changed from Melee. Oh yeah, and his Up-B recovery too. I guess make him and Ness fall slower or just stay in place while using it in the air.

Did not know that. I thought it was split and not split depending on the attack you last did.

Man, you didn't even mention his recovery (one of the worst in the game). That needs to be fixed somehow.

If they wanted to fill the roster as much as possible at launch?

Fill it up with as much as they could while doing it right, finish the others through DLC. It's not hard to do this man. They have little excuse for clones or semi clones this time around aside from lack of creativity, laziness, or unwillingness to change. They can patch the game through online means now. Make characters better make them unique.

But you make it so easy with posts like this:

It's been said already, but your posts come from a place of ignorance and a refusal to accept things that you don't like. You've been acting like a real jackass to be perfectly honest when people have been giving you examples of why you are misinformed. Perfectly calm, rational arguments and examples that you immediately chuck out the window only because you want things your way and nobody else's. So if you start acting like a spoiled brat, don't be shocked to find that people aren't going to treat you with maturity. You need to stop talking for people, and you also need to stop presenting, at best, anecdotal evidence that "people wouldn't care if clones were gone" or whatever it was you said to try and pass your opinion as "fact."

I am fully aware of where my posts come from, and as I explained it came from a differing definition of a clone. I admit that I usually to start off discussions very impulsively and with a poorly chosen way of speaking, the problem comes from me presenting my argument horribly and overreacting to the points made against me. This increases other people's frustration with my stubbornness which in turn makes them mad and then causes me to get even more hotheaded and cruder.

But in regards to yourself, is your usual habit of being condescending. Something you've done in just about every post of mine you feel the need to respond to, which is equally about as mature as throwing a tantrum. Positioning yourself on some high pedestal for your almighty knowledge of fighting game mechanics, and then personally attacking my character with intentional malice, something I never did to you like you've done to me multiple times. You aren't some bastion of maturity Beef, no matter how reasonable you try to pass yourself off, you and other posters have many moments of sheer arrogance. One of which being the case below.

Well then good news: nobody is forcing you to post and/or respond to anything in the threads! Feel free to leave or, barring that, put some people on the ol' ignore list. Here, I'll do you a solid and give you a link to put me on yours.

Why would I bother with this. I've only ever put one person on my ignore list and it didn't even work correctly because the function only served to highlight their posts even more, not make them less noticeable or just completely eliminate them from my personal viewing. Besides, if you hate my posts so much there's nobody forcing you to read them either, feel free to put me on your ignore list.

That'd be a shame.

That about sums it up, now can we stop measuring dicks?

Aim a full-charge FLUDD downwards for a secondary recovery.
I think not requiring any charge would be better, it would act as Peach's floating but with a much shorter distance. Since FLUDD is there it's hard to believe they didn't use it to improve his awful recovery, especially after removing his old down-B which acted as a recovery move too.

Never claimed to be mature. I'm just old and have less patience. :P

Not anymore, thanks to this! https://chrome.google.com/webstore/...ore/gghejbglcnfcphhkhhncognjfmjpemgj?hl=en-US

(only works with Chrome)

You could get the big boost from a full-charge, and a slight hover with anything less. Seems better, no?

Namco is transforming itself as a developer company that other companies can use to develop their games.

How about the rocket nozzle if it's fully charged? Kinda like diddy's up b

How about rocket mode when fully charged, hover when not charged/semi-charged, and regular nozzle when on the ground. I think that works out nicely.

I'd rather see the Raccoon Tail or Cape used for added recovery than more FLUDD. Just let Mario hold his cape attack and transition into his back and forth float from Super Mario World.

The lack of using one of the many flying objects as an Up B move for four games running is pretty confusing. It's so obvious.

So have we come to terms that Dixie Kong is probably more likely than K. Rool at this point? She is playable in the next Donkey Kong game as well as having been planned for Brawl. Still would prefer the croc though.

Well, the coin block punch is just so iconic to the Mario series that it pretty much has to be in. What really surprises me is that FLUDD is still in over Mario's older spin attack when the spin is such a big part of the Galaxy games.

From what I know of Smashboards they basically allowed the community to split in two by fostering flame wars between serious and casual players which is stupid and should have been nipped in the bud from the start. Too bad.

Hopefully SSB4 reunites the fanbase.

I didn't like how Ness kept his nerfed PK Thunder recovery range from Melee while Lucas not only got the SSB64 PKT range, but the rope snake as a tether recovery as well. On top of that, Lucas' PKT goes through enemies (even if they can break it with most attacks) and he also gets the better aerial mobility while in helpless state.

They should really fix the glitch where Lucas and Ness don't stick to walls from the right (or was it from the left?) when using their recovery, and bounce off to their doom instead. Oh, and they should remove their crazy frame disadvantage on grab releases while they're at it.

I think the reasoning might be that both require mario to run to build momentum first before using it. Don't know why the winged cap hasn't been used though.

I really hope we have individual Break the Target stages again. Brawl's shared five sucked.

Did they ever explain the decision behind this?

EDIT: As for Namco, Gundam Extreme Vs got some good support for a good amount of time after the game was released. And if you count Full Boost, that also got a ton of post release support. So maybe that could happen in Smash as well.

Haaaaah. That's why I dropped going into public Smash-related forums. :P
They're filled with 13-year old kids that think they're SO smart.

Well yes, I stopped going to both of those places back in 2010. I only went back a couple of times to hopelessly give life advice to Mew2King (which he ignored each time because he surrounds himself with enablers) and because Smashboards were trying to hold breast cancer donation money for ransom during the EVO thing.

There's no real precedent for thinking Smashboards can run a community in a competent fashion.

Just wanted to say I appreciate the fact that the two first-party newcomers announced so far are from series that haven't received reps yet (Animal Crossing and Wii Fit).
