Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS: Info Collection - Dojo, Mega Man and Trailer! 2014!

Crap, I accidentally edited my post out. I will have to type all of it again.

Here I go again but this time I will summarized it up.

Alright, I'm in talking with someone that provided graphic work, and I MIGHT use it for Dojo /OT2/ but I'm not sure if I should save it for SSB for Wii U and 3DS OT depend on the situation. I'm not in hurry for graphic work at the moment until we see what would be right for OT. I would get head start on the work. I know some of you might find me odd that I'm going to work on /OT/ very early, but I'm definitely hyped to have Smash 4 for my first OT. I would like to start with few things.

Since we can't predict the future so if I got banned, died from strange reason, or quit the internet then Mr.Fix is next person to claimed the /OT/. Right now, he got himself a temp banned but he will be back.

My plan for /OT if we didn't get worldwide release.

If this game didn't get worldwide release, then it's more likely that I will make SSB4 OT a week before Japanese release date. More likely, I would included secret characters and stages on the OP. For people who would love to keep themselves away from spoilers, would have to make their own spoiler-free thread, and we would be happy to provide partially graphic works if it's possible.

My rough draft would splits many things into few sections
1)Introduction
2)You Must Recover (How to Play)
3) Returning characters
4) Secret characters
5) 3DS stages
6) Wii U stages
7) Secret stages
8) Items
9) Pokeballs
10) Assist Trophies
11) Modes
12) Friend Lists (Wii U, 3DS and Both)

Please help me if I forget something. Since we are lack of Brawl OT so I can't use any reference.

I'm sorry if it may be annoying that you might have hear it several time but I would like to plan ahead of time. I'm totally aware that we mightn't see the game for other year or more.

PLEASE GIVE ME A FEEDBACK. I WOULD APPRECIATE IT A LOT

I'm not convinced players ragequitting is a worse problem than 40% of the people who played Brawl online being dumb kids who were so bored they would literally do nothing but walk left and right, duck, and taunt at random intervals.

I dissagree, why even buy the console version in the first place?

Why not have the ability to customize your characters in the console version? There isn't a reason its a dumb design choice

I like sakurai but dude needs an idea editor with a rolled up newspaper

I'm also taking in mind whatever other features are unique between the two. Customization is the only one we know of right now.

To summarize: I love the idea of a portable Smash Bros. with it's own set of features that connects to an HD Smash Bros that also has it's own set of features. I'm excited for HD Smash as well., maybe even more than the 3DS version. I don't want either one of these to get canceled or limited in it's connectivity features for the sole reason that a few characters might get cut.

And then gang up on anyone who was there to actually fight.

Like I said, it's all anecdotal evidence. Maybe you should pay attention to the conversation for once.

Injustice was so bad the devs came in and fixed it .I think that point its more than evidence and more of an issue. Because things had to be rectified. All I did was give an example of a fighting game that actually had a disconnection problem.

Maybe you should pay attention to what is being typed.

The customization feature is my biggest interest in the new Smash Bros, so I don't feel the same way. I like the idea of personally customizing a character I main while I play a portable Smash Bros with different stages and features, and then transfer that character to the HD version with even more different stages and features. I can take a small number of characters not making the cut for that.

Different strokes for different genitals...

This mysterious customization feature sure does raise a lot of questions. How will it affect the balance of the game? How much can be customized? Can you play as a customized character online and does it give you an advantage over non-customized characters? It seems that all of this can end up causing more development trouble than just adding more characters.

And then gang up on anyone who was there to actually fight.

I'll take the ganging up, they always sucked anyway, but if you're just going to pick G&W and literally smash your thumb against the D-pad for ten minutes at a time even as I beat your ass you should really just stop wasting my time and go do your homework.

Probably answered a million times, but was there ever any clarification on what was meant by "each character now has their own system"?

Was that the one that was related to a customization question? If so, the answer was probably horribly mistranslated and that's why it makes little sense lol.

You buying a portable copy of the game, limitations is the name of the game.

If anything, Dr. Mario would be an alternate costume for Mario. But having Roy back would be so glorious! Especially if his Awakening outfit gets chosen. *0*

Dr. Mario is so much better than regular Mario though. If Falco and Wolf get to stay I think Dr. Mario should be back as well.

I'm happy the devs listened, but it's also an isolated incident that says more about that community than netplay as a whole. I can tell you that I've only had a handful of people ragequit against me in both UMvC3 and SF4 (or Brawl, or Super Turbo, or Third Strike, etc.), but it wouldn't be an argument for/against leaderboards. Same if I mentioned how often I got hate mail after matches. None of that is a legitimate excuse for not wanting leaderboards in the game. It's just people falling for Sakurai's BS and not actually trying to come up with a reason.

You can say "BUT RAGEQUITTERS" all you want, as loud as you want. But just because there is that possibility doesn't mean it's actually going to happen extremely frequently.

Sakurai's team doesn't see the 3DS Smash as a portable copy to the HD version. They see it as it's own version with its own set of features. One of these features being the connectivity to the Wii U version.

New features is what I'm interested in the most, which is why I plan to buy both. I want to see what ideas the team has to enhance the solo experience of the portable version and the "grand scale" experience of the HD version.

Dr. Mario is so much better than regular Mario though. If Falco and Wolf get to stay I think Dr. Mario should be back as well.

Pffft.

Dr. Mario is just Mario with an MD in pill tossing. Fox and Wolf are completely different characters with much more individualized movesets.

You know, I heard this "put this effort toward consoles, forget about portables" sentiment about Kid Icarus. Sakurai doesn't seem to believe it.

Nah, it was from the Smash developer direct. I'll try to find the exact quote. I may be remembering it incorrectly, but I believe that's what it was.

I think he was talking more about how every person using the 3DS version will use their own console. As in you won't have multiple people tapping into one system like the Wii U version.

Hmm, from IGN article?

Was that the one that was related to a customization question? If so, the answer was probably horribly mistranslated and that's why it makes little sense lol.

Here it is. It's 3DS specific.

Ah, I guess I mistook the contexted for the word then. My fault.

Yeeah, but Dr. Mario would never get in over Mario. Besides they are the same character, and the fact if he was to get in, he wouldn't be the same as he was before.

Also, Falco and Wolf are different characters.

Include fewer tracks to free up space for the 3DS cart, make it up by finally allowing custom music

win win

I will be sad if they don't allow custom music after the huge blowup Brawl has had with it from modding it and still have complete throwaway tracks from other games.

And by throwaway tracks, I mean songs that are unremixed and just reused. Tracks from Brawl such as Checker Knights, Frozen Hillside, some of the F-Zero X songs, and so on. I mean it's fine for past stages like Big Blue because you have to use the original stage's music, but a new stage having reused music? Come on.

That's the aspect I hated most about Brawl's soundtrack. Tons of wasted slots on songs that were unremixed.

Dude , digiman, person on the internet, I agree with your sakurai point. All I did was give you a situation where it was an issue. Hey this game had had a thing, and they fixed the thing. It was more than isolated indecent, it was a problem in the community and they fixed it. Hell that actually supports your point, you can fix these things. I was just giving you some perspective from a game that actually had the problem sakurai seems to think is going to happen.

That sounds like more incentive to separate it as far away from the wii u version as possible.

I would rather the development resources be spent on other things besides song remixes, although I can understand why people would want new takes on familiar tracks. I just want a plethora of music like Brawl had, and if that means ripping things straight from other games, I am fine with that. I generally prefer the originals anyway and I also prefer MIDI in my video games.

It would be great if they could make some original songs as good as the ones in Melee. They should get the people at HAL responsible for those cuts on board.

You dare mock the black alt and dat electric palm and f-air?

He's the only clone that's overall better than the original...tho they're both the same lol.

3DS Smash needs some love.
Anybody more excited for it than the Wii U version like me?

I'm pretty excited for both games. One thing that made me very curious about 3DS is that if they had to adjust the moveset for characters like Ice Climbers and Olimar. It would be interesting to see how different the tier lists would be.

I'm good with it. I imagine there will be some maybe-big highlight single player mode in the game, maybe save a spot from that? Or I guess you could shove it into modes. Beyond that it looks good to me.

Depend on what kind of single player mode they would put in the game. If it's better and bigger than SSE then it will deserve it's own section. *coughbreakthetargetforeveryonecough*

On the topic of clones, even though they say all characters from Brawl will probably be back, I don't think we need two Links. I would prefer they just work on making Link a better character overall.

What is the deal with the electricity? Is there a Dr. Mario game I am unaware of where he electrocutes his patients? Dr. Mario's Electroshock Ward? It can't just be some cheap way to further differentiate two identical characters could it?

All regular link needs is toon links speed, jump height, up b height, his up smash, stronger down smash...and melee links multi stab A attack from melee :D

We don't need two of anybody. Give Toon Link's spot to Skull Kid or Ghirahim.

Well, Dr Mario would be a bit different now since his down b wouldn't be the shitty Fludd move.

I would prefer they just work on making Link a better character overall.

For some reason this reminded me of how I laughed when I saw the developer direct when Sakurai goes over Link, Samus, and Pit. "Let me show you how much our graphics have improved by showing off Samus, how we've upgraded the characters' movesets by showing off Pit, and how much no one cares about Link by glossing over him and having Pit smack the shit out of him."

But for reals, yeah I hope they buff the poop out of Link. I so much prefer him to Toon Link.

What? I don't want Toon Link gone. They can definitely differentiate him further. He has 3 games they can borrow from, and if they like, they can also borrow stuff from Classic Link.

...uhh fire benders can shoot electricity?
I got nothing

Dr. Mario doesn't know how to use defibrillators he just overdoses everyone on megavitamins.

Dunno about the bolded, personally. Link already has a plethora of ways to KO, especially if they revert how his grounded Up B works to Smash 64/Melee. (And judging by the trailer, that's how it is again, but we'll see if it sticks). And if there's no way to cancel out hitstun and jab1 > jab2 > down smash still works that's a pretty good setup for juggling characters with Uair.

I'd also like it if Nair lasted as long or close to as long as Melee Nair and if it had the same rough KB values. It was pretty mediocre in Brawl if I recall, at least for edgeguarding (and also approaching). I guess part of what made Melee Nair so good was the collision detection between characters and stages (characters land on stages with their shins rather than their feet in Melee and sure it's more "realistic" to have them land on their feet it's... kinda idk bad for moves that degrade in KB/dmg the longer they are out).

Here's what I mean using a gif someone took a year ago.

linkynair.gif

See how he just warps to the ground? Yeah.............. that shouldn't happen. If it didn't happen Link could use his Nair to stuff moves tons better (and also for the purpose of him using it to approach).
