OBJECTION, its on PC. You can always simply use a mod to patch in the old music easily.

But yeah, it suck that they changed the music, but hey. Must be some reason, like having to pay the singers and all that.

Steam is only a client in which you download your games.

Once you have the games downloaded you can set the client to offline and play from an offline state indefinitely.

I remember on one of my playthroughs on PS1 I got Aerith's 4th limit break and got her to level 99... even knowing what happens to her at the end of disc 1.

Also keep in mind that even this port is a decade old. It's using MIDI, for god's sake.

They replaced all the music with .ogg files, so there's not really any excuse for the badness. Also, the "new" versions don't sound like the old PC ones using any MIDI synth. If they were the XG ones, it might be "okay", but they're actively worse.

On the plus side, being .ogg files just sitting in the file system does make it very easy to replace them. Yeah yeah, PC master race and all that, but I still don't think you should judge a game based on its moddability.
