Remembering Ryan Davis, 1979 - 2013

My wife and I regularly had downtime to post on Facebook and twitter during our honeymoon, it's not that abnormal.

I post like 4-5 things to Facebook a year so I guess I found it to be quite extreme. Also, I enjoy not checking Facebook or e-mail at all during vacation so you can actually relax. But whatever you enjoy I guess.

For years now I have been excited to come home on a Wednesday afternoon. Just so i could press play and hear that familiar 'hey everyone its Tuesday! ... and you are listening to the Giant Bombcast, I'm your host Ryan Davis...' Thank you Ryan. For bringing so much joy and happiness into all of our lives.

My heart goes out to his family and friends. Lets blast those summerjams louder than ever.

still some of my proudest work. fuck.

"Hey, everybody, it's Tuesday!"

It's painful to realize that we will never hear those words from him again. It's the passion that guys like Ryan brought to Giant Bomb that inspired me to become deeply passionate about this hobby and industry, during a certain low in my life. As Nick Robinson said, it says a lot about the work Ryan has done that so many of us internet strangers feel like we've lost a real blood relative.

Thank you Ryan for making the world a more joyful place, and my best wishes to his friends and family during these hard times.

I think we can all be a little sillier today and maybe even from now on, if only to honor his absence. I wanted to meet him someday and tell him he inspired me to get an industry job.

RIP Ryan Davis

Started following the Giant Bomb crew on Gamespot and all the way to the Arrow Pointing down podcast and then Giant Bomb, for me Ryan was the face of Giant Bomb and definitely well be missed :(

even though i didnt know you personally i always thought of you as a friend .

I always enjoyed watching and listening to you every week, and to me you just bought something unique to the podcast and the countless other entertaining videos that you did that nobody well ever match,

RIP Friend :(

Im not buying this - the man dies on 7/3, Will from Tested airs his podcast the day after and talks about how great the wedding was, and now we are getting semi-serious tweets Kessler, Gertsman and Snider.

Hell, Gertsman was tweeting the usual nonsense up until a few hours ago.

Maybe I'm just in denial.

It's very, very wierd. The say the he died on the 3rd. I just checked and his last tweet was on the 3rd at 9PM.
Either something very bad happened to him and was hospitalized until a couple of days ago, or I don't know.

Since he was on his honeymoon, the other GiantBomb crew probably didn't want to bother him. But it's wierd that them being friends, they only found out today (because Jeff woudln't be tweeting nonsense otherwise)

Christ, that's utterly devastating, 34 is too young. I've only been listening to the Bombcast for a little while and getting to know who everyone is but was happy to hear about Ryans wedding, my heart goes out to his family and friends.

Unreal. I am so sad. Ryan Davis had a voice for radio and he was, in my opinion, the thing that set the Bombcast apart from any other gaming podcast -- or really, any other podcast/radio show in general. He truly had a way with words and making conversation... I will miss his humor, wit, and insight. I've been listening to the Bombcast for the past three years now and it's never going to be the same without him. He made the show, he really did. I've already been pretty down lately and this is not helping anything. Ugh.

I honestly cannot believe this. RIP, Ryan Davis, you will be missed.

Yeah Ryan Davis did have a voice for radio. Giant Bomb is different from any other gaming podcast as they really have a pro sound and not some stumbling amateur sound.

Why are we getting this news Now? I remember when one of my favorite singers died last year and i found out about like a few hours after it'd happened.

I've been following him and the GiantBomb crew since the Gamespot days. So sudden and unexpected.

RIP Ryan. You will be missed.

This is devastating.. My heart goes out to Ryan, his family and to his friends. I can't even begin to count the times you made me laugh..

Absolutely heartbreaking.

I only recently got into the Bombcast and Ryan was genuinely one of the key reasons I started and carried on. He had such a likable presence on the show.

RIP Ryan.
