Remembering Ryan Davis, 1979 - 2013

I know it's meaningless, but I was really hoping to meet Ryan at California Extreme this coming weekend. I didn't see him last year and wanted to say thanks for providing so much entertainment.

Something odd happened with previous reply, so here it is again

Thank you so much mate.

I can't..I was literally listening to the E3 podcast pre-show when I read this.

Been reading the thread all day, such sad, horrible news.
I was lucky enough to meet Ryan a few times, he was always super friendly and engaging.
He will be missed.

Holy shit, I almost can't believe it. While I haven't been on Giant Bomb or listened to the podcast in a long time, I remember really liking Gamespot when he was there and part of that credit has to go to Ryan Davis. My love of Gamespot also really point Giant Bomb on my radar when it was being created.

RIP Ryan Davis

I've been listening to the Bombcast for years and Ryan's absence will be keenly felt. One of the things that made the Bombcast special was that half the time it was just a bunch of good friends shooting the shit. You could tell by listening how close they were, how well they got along, and how much they enjoyed each other's company. Hearing that, I can't even imagine how the rest of the bombcrew are feeling now, never mind Ryan's family and new wife. I don't know what else to say.

A friend of mine made this. I found it fitting - hopefully he'll continue doing what he loved to do, like a boss.

He should photoshop in podcast guests like Abraham Lincoln and Billy Mays to both sides of him. Ryan is the king of podcasts even in the great beyond!

This is such sad news. My hearts aches for what his wife must be going through.

He was (is?) by far my favourite gaming personality.

RIP Ryan.

Do we have anymore information?

Honestly, I've never followed giantbomb, and only know of the personalities through friends... but it's really tragic, and I empathize. Only a couple years younger than him, and it's probably a sad day for everyone that knows him.

Same here. I'm shocked and I can't imagine how it should be like for close people to him and the fans. My best regards to family and friends.

God bless Ryan Davis. His death is tragic, and I will miss him dearly, but if it wasn't for this, my roommate and I never would have gotten this drunk and bonded at this level. Even from the grave, you continue to make my life that much more enjoyable.

Wow, he was one of the few guys in gaming that I really liked. Has the cause of death been disclosed yet? Not that it matters really... RIP.

Ryan Davis, the glue that held GB together. It will be difficult to move on without him. You will be missed. Condolences to his family and friends.

That dude could enunciate the fuck out of words, I always enjoyed that about him.
When he said thing like "Bombcast" or words that start with P, man its like he was almost throwing every letter at your face and it just hit you in the perfect way.
Stupid dummy, it was always the sharp letters he hit you with. No regard, son, no regard for safety.

Just got home. Heard about the news by looking over someone's shoulder in class while they were browsing reddit. Ugh. My heart sank, felt like I had just faded out of reality for a moment.

Was pretty shocked when i read this at work. Felt like i lost someone close. He was very visible in the gaming world. The wife must be devastated. It almost sounds like he died on his honeymoon.
